Thanks Marti! I'm a little obssesed with my vacations. (have I found a home or what??) I have a tendency to overplan and over worry. You are absolutley right. I'll plan the vacation so that I can enjoy it. I know she'll have fun. I want to do Wishes!!!, Osborne Lights, Candlelight Processional, MVMCP, dinner at LTT before the party. I'm trying to decide between Chef's of France, Rose and Crown or Le Cellier for the CP package.

I know she'll love Mama Melrose for the Fantasmic package. So that's 4 late nights already! It's going to be hard enough to drag her butt out of the bed before noon as it is, so CS lunch and then a late dinner will be perfect for our touring plans. I can pretty well forget park openings, unless she surprises me.

I'm overworrying about the room, when in reality, she will be so blown away with the castle and Spaceship Earth, and the monorail and just everything, she won't notice the room that much! And she wants to go so much, she would have been happy at HoJos. What does she know? She's never been!

She has nothing to compare it to! :woohoo:

I'll save the points and the jacuzzi tub for my big family trip in May... My DD and DS and their spouses and kids will appreciate it. They have all been and would know what a treat it was.

I am so glad I can come here and whine.... :surfweb: :surfweb:

Marti, you have a Happy Birthday :cake: :bday: and enjoy your all adult trip. I didn't think I could go to Disney without my DGD, but I did and we had the time of our lives! :woohoo: :cheer2: :cloud9:  I hope you do too!

See Steffy - you understood what I meant. She won't know the difference so don't use the points with her - used them with the people that will see the difference. Glad you got what I meant.

Kate - I'm glad things yesterday went ok. You were in my thoughts all day long. Those kind of things are never easy, but I'm sure having the whole family together made things better.

Theresa - I'm sending lots of :wizard: your way so your husband will find a job! It's never fun to be facing that kind of uncertainty. Good luck.

Marti - I said it yesterday, but I'll say it again. Have a wonderful trip! You and Paul deserve this! Take it easy and comfortable, and don't forget, you're celebrating for all of us born in January!

I hope I haven't missed anyone else. Sometimes it's hard to keep up with everything, but I'm trying.

Have a great day everyone! DH is taking me out for my birthday today. First I get to go with him while he films some Luge runners training in Park City, then we'll wander the streets of Park City, and try to hobnob with the celebrities that are in town for Sundance, and then, finally, a nice dinner. And by nice, I mean one that will sit well with me. Steak it is! :yay:

DS Jacob wants to say Hi. These are his favorite smilies: :sail: :ewok: :car: :chewy: :pixiedust :darth: :dancer: :charac4: :dumbo: :goofy: :pooh: :hmghost: :sulley: :tigger: :smickey: :ccat: :tink: :donald: :fish:

Hope no one minds this. He loves to watch them dance, etc.

Wouldn't you know my DH just picked this moment to glance at the screen? He didn't see this part of your post, thank goodness, or I'd have had some 'splainin' to do!

I'm glad you were able to hop on for a little distraction. Enjoy your time with your family (despite the sad reason you were all brought together) and have a safe trip home!

OK, all you smily posters. I have one thing to say to you: :offtopic:

Just kidding! As if we're ever ON topic! (What is our official topic, anyway? :confused3 )

I've been shoveling... snow that is!! We havent had much snow at all (I hear you on the snow plow gathering dust in the garage!!)

Well, I'm chaperoning the high school band trip, we leave early am - (going to Wisconsin Dells indoor water park)

It was so beautiful, I had to try and capture the memory - so I was so shocked that it actually turned out (I'm a point and shoot kinda girl - I turned knobs, and clicked!!)

The stick in the middle is my 5year old Red Maple tree - app 5'5" tall - the blob in the lower left is our mailbox, I'm in the street!! Snowplows finally showed up!!

Gorgeous! What a beautiful site. I love seeing pictures and enjoy the first or second snowfall of the year - by now I'm ready for it to be gone! Luckily we still have just a few inches.

Poor Steffy, the ultimate planner.
You know what ever you do with your sister will be fun. She is going to be like a kid in a candy store, too much to look at and not enough time. Since she has never been she really will not know what she will be missing. :ssst:
Since Steffy and I have traveled a lot together, the idea of having double sinks was a blessing. :crowded: But since we saw the room at POP where my two sisters stayed, we decided it didn't matter. Still lots of room to spread out our things. :duck:
Every day we would talk about how we were gonna go and dip into the pool or jacuzzi because we were so hot or I needed to de-stress my back. It was just as easy to cut the clothes off in the room and stand in the cold shower and for me--lots of meds and off to sleep was quicker. Besides we would have fallen asleep in the jacuzzi and probably drowned :rotfl2:

The first real morning when I got the wake up call from Stitch--hope they change that real soon--and was moaning, Steffy said, "We can always just not go to Chef Mickey's" , I was so tempted but I decided to crawl out of bed and am now glad that we did decide to go. That started the :pixiedust and it didn't stop from then on.
Just remember your words, you cannot stress on what you do not know will happen until you get there.

Tammi I say go for the 7 days and tell your sister to do her relaxing at the pool! You're so lucky to be going with your sister! Especially because she's never been there before. You can plan so many cool things to do. An all adult trip is really different then one with the kids!
I've never been to the parks when it's Pop Warner time, so, sorry, I can't answer that for you. When isnthat anyway? It honestly sounds like it's the only time you can go comfortably, so I say go for it. You'll make it fun and you'll have fun no matter when you go anyway!
I think this was supposed to be for Steffy.

I need to ask you all for some pixie dust and prayers. (Although mine seems so small in comparison with the others the last couple of days) I found out last night that my husband will be going in to his last day of work this morning. They are closing the store that he is working at with little notice to everyone. This wouldn't be to big of a deal if I knew he would actually go out and look for another job but it took seven months of sitting on his hiney to even look for this job....AND as you can see from my signature we are trying to go to WDW this summer for our first trip. Hard to do that on just my income.

So I am a little stressed out :earseek: !!

Yesterday though I made a funny typo in the Sunday bulletin for all to see. For the Men's Retreat I put the meeting place as Templed HELLS instead of Templed Hills. Can't wait to hear about that on Monday.

Thanks for letting me vent.
So sorry about this, Theresa. Here are some prayers and :pixiedust :pixiedust

Cool!! New smilies!!

ETA: Hey, that's not what those smilies are supposed to look like!

I know what you mean. My DD3 loves to watch Marti's Steamboat Willie. She calls it the "movin' Mickey."

You're absolutely correct! I was just going to fix that after I caught up on my reading.... but it looks like she's figured it out anyway! I guess that's one DDAer that's smarter then the averaege bear :goofy: (Oh my- what fun new smilies we have now!!)

Hi everybody!

Snow update- we got about a foot, but I live up near the WI/IL border so we never got the initial rain that some of you farther south got- ours just started as snow.

Baby Trees- :grouphug: My dad lost his job during my first year of college. Since big bro was a senior, he got to stay and I had to come home until he finished. But he got another job and we survived (and I did go back to college!) Best Wishes!

Kate- Glad to hear from you! Still thinking of you and Nancy...

Marti and Paul- Have a great trip!!!! Our first 2 trips to Disney were adults only so I know you'll have a ball!!

Steffy- I wouldn't worry about POP Warner week since your going DVC. We only avoided that week since we are staying at POR and a lot of them are there too!

I hope that's all!- Have a great weekend!!

Steffy
We went during Pop Warner in 2005. We stayed at the Dolphin so we did not have any issues with the kids. The parks were great. We have always been in the summer months before and now I will take the kids out of school to go again. I would highly recommend going then....weather great, parks great, and Christmas decorations are wonderful. Have fun :cool1:

We were there too for Pop in ASMo. The busses were crowded, but I didn't really notice any difference in the parks.
