I need to ask you all for some pixie dust and prayers. (Although mine seems so small in comparison with the others the last couple of days) I found out last night that my husband will be going in to his last day of work this morning. They are closing the store that he is working at with little notice to everyone. This wouldn't be to big of a deal if I knew he would actually go out and look for another job but it took seven months of sitting on his hiney to even look for this job....AND as you can see from my signature we are trying to go to WDW this summer for our first trip. Hard to do that on just my income.

So I am a little stressed out :earseek: !!

Yesterday though I made a funny typo in the Sunday bulletin for all to see. For the Men's Retreat I put the meeting place as Templed HELLS instead of Templed Hills. Can't wait to hear about that on Monday.

Thanks for letting me vent.

Theresa,
Being told that your job is gone is a big shock. I can relate, when three years ago right before Christmas DH came home after working at his job for about 13 years and they told him they were downsizing--(didn't want to pay him the $$ anymore) so now what do they do? Hire out for more $$ to bring someone in to fix things he could fix :confused3
Now he is finally doing something he loves even tho it is part time teaching and I love where I work so it ended up being a good thing. It was just getting over the initial shock.

The reason there has been little snow in PA is because I have a brand new 2 stage bunch of horsepower self-propelled snow blower in my garage.... :cold: :cold: :cold:

isn't that always the case?! :confused3

LOL Isn't that always the way it goes? :earseek:

January has been warmer than average. I'm so happy to have made this small contribution to the citizens of PA who have suffered so long with mountains of snow in January! I'm all for the warmth...... :goodvibes :goodvibes

Steffy - can't help you with the pop warner thing. But I will say that personally I think a few more days at Disney trumps a jacuzzi bath in the evening. So I vote for the longer stay in the smaller room.

Thanks Tammi!

Tammi I say go for the 7 days and tell your sister to do her relaxing at the pool! You're so lucky to be going with your sister! Especially because she's never been there before. You can plan so many cool things to do. An all adult trip is really different then one with the kids!
I've never been to the parks when it's Pop Warner time, so, sorry, I can't answer that for you. When isnthat anyway? It honestly sounds like it's the only time you can go comfortably, so I say go for it. You'll make it fun and you'll have fun no matter when you go anyway!

Thanks Karebear. You know what, every day tinker1bell and I would leave the park we would say we wre going to go to the pool or the spa and we did neither. We were so tired from the parks... Some days we would stop at the pool bar and get a drink and then drag our tired butts in.

Since my older sister has never been, she won't even know the difference will she??

Lynn: Happy Belated Birthday!!!! I hope you had a great day and got your dinner!!!

Elin: I hope there is more good news on your mom today!! She is in my thoughts and prayers

Beth: Glad that things went well with your SIL's surgery - keep us updated - sending prayers and pixie dust!!

Theresa: I hope things work out and your DH finds a new job soon!!

I love all the new designs and if I missed any other P&PD here you go!! :wizard:

AND I AM SO FLATTERED!!

Rosie wants to be me and Kim wants to marry me!!! :rotfl2:

P.S. I love turtles too!!!

Hey all

I am at Nancy's house right now! Yesterday was a hard day but it was really nice to have our family together and now we are having a great time - the kids are having a blast together -

we will head home sometime tomorrow!!

I will post a little more then!

Look at all the new smilies

:sail: :ewok: :smokin: :woohoo: :stir: :yay: :surfweb: :clown: :yoda:

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers!!!

I can so relate! My Dsil lost his job a couple of weeks before the wedding. :rolleyes2 He stayed home for the entire summer. My DD didn't think he would ever work again! :rolleyes1 But when he finally looked, he found the perfect job, making more money than he was before, and they are both much happier.

And BTW, I love the Freudian typo. :rotfl: :rotfl:

Hi Steffy - I just had to weigh in on this one -- this is your first time doing DVC right?? I learned a valuable lesson last October when I did our vacation for everybody else BUT my family..... so maybe you can learn from my mistake. Don't try to please anybody but yourself. I know that sounds harsh but what I've learned (especially from disney newbies) they are going to be in awe anyway -- and the little touches won't really get noticed. There are so many big things to notice!!!!! I was so worried about everybody else (whom I couldn't please all of the time anyway) that I didn't enjoy our vacation AT ALL. I certainly would not book a room for less time, just to get a jacuzzi tub. There is a shower/tub in the studio! I think your sister would be much happier with more days to take in all the details. You spend so little time in the room anyway - take more time to show her the parks.

As for Pop Warner, I don't think it impacts you unless you stay at the resorts in which they stay. I do know that they close down MGM a little early one night - I believe 05s was on December 9 - which affected Fantasmic. But I'm sure you can plan around that.

But no matter what we all say here at the DDA - follow your heart. You know your sister best and do what is right for your family. Either way, you'll have a great time!

Thanks Marti! I'm a little obssesed with my vacations. (have I found a home or what??) I have a tendency to overplan and over worry. You are absolutley right. I'll plan the vacation so that I can enjoy it. I know she'll have fun. I want to do Wishes!!!, Osborne Lights, Candlelight Processional, MVMCP, dinner at LTT before the party. I'm trying to decide between Chef's of France, Rose and Crown or Le Cellier for the CP package.

I know she'll love Mama Melrose for the Fantasmic package. So that's 4 late nights already! It's going to be hard enough to drag her butt out of the bed before noon as it is, so CS lunch and then a late dinner will be perfect for our touring plans. I can pretty well forget park openings, unless she surprises me.

I'm overworrying about the room, when in reality, she will be so blown away with the castle and Spaceship Earth, and the monorail and just everything, she won't notice the room that much! And she wants to go so much, she would have been happy at HoJos. What does she know? She's never been!

She has nothing to compare it to! :woohoo:

I'll save the points and the jacuzzi tub for my big family trip in May... My DD and DS and their spouses and kids will appreciate it. They have all been and would know what a treat it was.

I am so glad I can come here and whine.... :surfweb: :surfweb:

Marti, you have a Happy Birthday :cake: :bday: and enjoy your all adult trip. I didn't think I could go to Disney without my DGD, but I did and we had the time of our lives! :woohoo: :cheer2: :cloud9:  I hope you do too!
