Yeah... Ditto for me too... :rotfl:

Ok, guys, you really need to post more. Us chicks are just used to being chatty together. We'd really like you to chat more. Give us a sign when you are online and we'll welcome you with open arms, listening ears, and tons of compliments. :teeth: Seriously, don't give up on us. Sooner or later we'll remember that you guys are here.

I have been busily working on finishing my t-shirt designing and working like a madman on autograph pages. :earseek:

You are turning into a DDA madman! Just don't forget to show us all the pictures (especially with your daughter as model).

I find this sexiest and degrading, just because I have man breasts doesn't mean I have to be called one of the girls. :cheer2:

It isn't that we forget - it is that you fit in so well with all of us, that we forget that your one of them. That is a compliment. It is just like us women that work in male oriented fields. Men sometimes forget that there is a woman in their midst when they get to talking. At least the men tell me it is a compliment when this happens. :rotfl:

On another note, airfare seems to be getting better by us. I just priced out more dummy dates for my trip and am down to $187 pp from Ohare on American. Starting on Monday I can actually use our real dates. If it's $187, I am jumping on them!!!!!!!!!

Funny..I just looked at american this morning for us as well. Can't decide if I should book or not. When we went last October tickets were $160 on american...but 187 still seems pretty good.

What dummy dates did you use? We fly from Green Bay to Chicago to Orlando. With parking for us, we decided it was worth the extra money for the connecting flight out of Green Bay.

12-3 to 12-10 (We are going 12-10 to 12-17)

ETA: The dates I used before were 11-26 to 12-3 and that was $263 (before fees) :earseek: But that was also the Sunday after Thanksgiving- which is the busiest travel day of the year...

Don't forget to post some of those pages when you have time. Even if it is after you return from your trip!

That is the same price we paid last fall but had to leave the middle of the week to get it- this is for a Sunday to Sunday trip!

On yet another note, I heard from DH that SIL may not be coming on our December trip after all. She thought that commercial she always sees for a family of 4 at a value resort for 7 days for $1500 included the dining plan and airfare. When I priced it for her it was almost $2300 which sent her into a tailspin...

Thanks for the info. This is great.

It doesn't get much more off topic than this...

Anyone active in church? I am Lutheran...I just got back from a congregational meeting....we had to vote on whether or not to remove the Pastor from our church, effective immediately. As much as I feel like it was a necessity...I can't help but feel guilty. It amazes me, I have never experienced the amount of poltics in the work place that I deal with at the church level.

Ok..I'm done. My head is just spinning. Sorry for the rant

Hey, a huge milestone & everyone missed it. marcij got 4000.

Oh my gosh -- I've been around since the start of the original thread, never speaking up for a "milestone", just kind of lurking, and I get one and don't even know it for several hours..... That's typical for my luck..... :rotfl:

:earseek: I'm not too active anymore but never had to do that one... Hope it works out!

Use to be a lutheran, joined to take communion with wife. Pulled her away and into a church that wasn't dead though. They weren't very supportive when we lost our son and couldn't give us any answers on his salvation.

The joy of having a stillborn child that couldn't get baptized. We know where he is and that Mya has her own personal Big Brother Angel.

We now go to a Non-Denominational and love it.

Remember when the people came door to door trying to sell encyclopedias???

That seems like a whole different world.

I think my Mom stoll has the set of Britannica they were sold back in 1962.

Yes I tried to sell a set of Encyclopedia Britannica to Steffy. That is how we met. :rotfl:

Mac -- I can't imagine one of my children dying before me, much less struggling with the beliefs of the Church and how that translates to my child and the afterlife. All I can think of to say is God bless your Angels, both on earth and Above.

Hey everyone, I need some help from you. As a graduate student, I have to teach a portion of a class tonight. I need to get some of your thoughts to help me put my lecture together. So, if you feel like you can, could you please answer the following question, and give a short answer as to why you chose what you did? Thanks.

Which of the following 3 societal trends do you feel have the largest impact on school library collection development:
a. illiteracy - not only the inability to read or write, but also the inability to use information.

b. the decline of school achievement

c. Cultural diversity (determining what is right/wrong; good/bad; secular/religious.

Thanks to anyone who can help me out.

Glynis,

I'm sorry. I don't want to be argumentive, but I have to say d:) none of the above.

I believe the easy access to the Internet and ability to search for things I would have to go row by row through stacks and stacks of books - the information is so easy to find.... When I was in grade school, I used to do my homework at the library. I was such a nerd. One of those "smart" kids. The dorky 4 eyed kid who was the teacher's pet and sat in the front of the class. The library was my friend. And I had a new set of World Books and the Brittanica at home..

Now, except for the school library, and summer reading, I'm not sure how much my DGD goes to the library. She just printed out photos for her Maya Angelo report for Black History class on my HP.

She is a google and yahoo search master. She's 9.

But we also go to Barnes and Noble once a week. We have books all over the house. She reads all the time. So does her mother. We love books. But the public library.... I dunno Glynis. It's not looking real good for the library.

WOW!!!
Before I hit send, I reread your question and you are asking about the school library. Duh.....

That is c. No doubt about it. Pure and simple censorship. We don't want our kid exposed to blah...... That's it. Final answer.

I was going to erase my novel at the begining, but I left it...... Hope it helps....
