Kate- I have some Disney bag ideas for you. Two things-
first- It's such a pain to have to unzip all the little areas you have for storage of a cell phone, maps, ap's ect. BUT they are really necessary. So.... can you make them so that you can see through the pocket to see what's in it by either using polyurethane or a wide mesh fabric for the pocket? That way we wouldn't have to open them for security because they could just see what's in them. (ID pocket for credit cards etc you might want to make the same color as the bag so they don't stick out.)
Second- how about making the strap of the bag with a thick flat strap so it can double as a "lanyard" for pin collectors?

My sister and I are 20 years apart. I have stopped correcting people. Last week at chuck e cheese the guy said these tickets are for your daughter..I just said thanks. LOL

People always think that my Mom is My boys mother when she is out with them. She looks very young for her age. She does correct them though.

So, today we received confirmation about why our living room wall is falling apart. Yep, we have TERMITES!!! :sad2: Luckily, they seem to have isolated themselves to the one wall, but it's still going to cost $1250 to get rid of them, plus however much it will cost us to replace the wall. GRRRRR!!! :furious:

Amy :)

Colby has decided that he doesn't like Mickey anymore. He loves Donald Duck :rotfl: . Nick loves Mickey and they have daily arguments over who's the best character. :rotfl2:

I'm thinking of seeing what I can find for Disney fabric and make pj bottoms. Then I can design a T-shirt to match. Guess I need to make a trip to the fabric store.

Deb

We got Rees Donald Duck (his fave too!) pj's at the Disney Store (BM- not online). They have DD playing basketball.

I am out of here too. I will go to sleep with visions of the PERFECT DISNEY BACK PACK............. :cloud9: :grouphug:

Everytime I go to Disney - I look for the perfect bag - I have recently given in and gone with the old fanny pack - but it isn't really what I want

so I am thinking about designing and making the perfect Disney bag and if I find it is feasible sell them on ebay - so I thought that I would get all of you to give me input on what would be your perfect Disney bag

I imagine there would be different needs for people with strollers, without, with small kids, no kids - maybe it will be a whole line - but it seems to me people are always asking what kind of bag to get to take in the parks

so my goal is to find out what people want in thier disney bags and what price point they would be willing to pay

here are my must haves:

must hold camera, cell phone, fast passes seperate from the money, my small binder, be comfortable and easily accessible -

I also need a bag for my kids though - it must hold an extra set of clothes, their pins a few activities = a backpack usually suits my needs just fine and I can get Disney ones at the disney store so a custom one would not appeal as much to me - but maybe you all have idea of what would attract you to a custom bag for your kids

so do you all get the idea now? you can either post your ideas here or pm me

and if you think my idea is not very good - I would love to know that too!!! If you all think it is a bad idea - it might save me some time!!!

and if you all give me totally different must haves - maybe I will find the best idea is custom made to order bags!!

Years ago I wanted the perfect disney bag. At the time we had a double stroller (front/back style). I needed to carry clothes, diaper, snacks, camera, etc. I I ended up making very cool saddle bags for our stroller. I had more compliments on them and everyone asked where they could buy them. The problem was that each stroller is designed differently and I couldn't come up with one that would attach to all makes and models. I wish you well with your idea. Hopefully you will come up with an amazingly versitile bag that we will all want.

My needs: backpack style. Large enough to hold my camera, cell phone, money, park tickets, sunglasses and chap stick. We still carry everything else in our stroller bags.

Hi

Sorry I missed the musical (actually I'm not, but I am trying to be polite :rotfl2: )

Kate, love the idea for the bags- I knew you couldn't stay away from your creativity for long ;) I got an LL bean canvas one last year and ironed on a Mickey patch so it would be Disney enough. It was huge and held everything from diapers to the camcorder. DH carried it or we hooked it onto the back of the stroller

Amy- sorry about the termites!!

I started researching strollers tonight (Thanks to everyone here who posted on my thread on the Family Board!) I found a couple of MacClaren Techno's on sale for under $200 on line. DH wants to see one in person at Babies R Us tomorrow before we order one. When I mentioned getting a new stroller he kind of made a face like "do we really need one- whats wrong with ours?" and I reminded him that the wheel kept coming off everytime we went to Epcot. Then he went :furious: and said fine.

See you all tomorrow!

Wow, you guys are talking about the GH that I used to watch. I relate to all those stories. And I just loved the Frisco and Felicia story line. The good ole days.

Here is a picture of my backpack from last trip. It worked really well and is actually designed to hold a Gameboy and accessories. It is less than a foot tall. It looks larger in the photo as Colby is modeling it.

Here is a picture of our "cadillac" stroller. This was taken in 2001 and it wasn't the first trip for the saddle bags. There is a bag on each side of the stroller and a larger one on the handle. The two saddle bags each had 3 compartments and were designed to fold in the middle creating 2 shoulder bags when removed from the stroller. Each was held on with 3 snaps so putting them on and off was really easy. I made the large handle one with a vinyl liner so it was perfect for wet bathing suits/towels. I really miss not using the double stroller now as it was so easy to take everything we needed and everything was very easily accessible.

Please excuse my stupid pose, but it was the best photo of the bags that I had.

I thought you all might get a kick out of my dad visiting while Paul and I were in Disney. This picture was taken by Matt outside of the George Eastman house in Rochester. He's the man behind Eastman Kodak (hence the camera). Thought you'd get a kick out of where I get my sense of humor. (and you all thought it was Skunka that I got my humor from.....)

and yes, that is a horse taking the picture. Don't ask.

I'll have to think about this awhile.....right now I don't know what I would want, but I'll know it when I see it!

Yuck! Luckily I've never had to deal with this, or known anyone who has, so I don't know what all it entails. I hope it is not too bad. :wizard:

It was actually a pretty neat idea -- I didn't expect it to be there of course! And as favors at our wedding we gave our jars of my cousins homemade strawberry jam. I don't know why Paul picked a strawberry patch. :confused3
That's too cute!
