Sure, I will try to organize it as best as I can. Dana could be a tour guide since he knows the city so well, but since we can fit you all in our minivan :lmao: maybe we can do a tourist bus tour (double decker bus) I want to check into which is best for our needs. We can keep our touring to midtown (times square, 5th ave etc) things you all may want to stop into are World of Disney (55th & 5th), American Girl (49th & 5th), empire state building (34th & 7th), or the new observatory at the "top of the rock" at Rockefeller center (on 5th ave). We'd have to find a nice kid friendly place to eat....so much to think about! I am can put together an offical whose going list so we can keep track.

ooo this sounds like fun!! I think the train would take me an hour or so to get there...
are people thinking of staying over or just doing a day trip?

Stephanie and I would probably stay over depending on what everyone is doing.

Robyn - Sorry for your loss! I hope things slow down for you soon!

Tom - What exactly were you watching the kitty for? Did she do anything interesting? Apparently Aurora's most impressive tricks are when nobody is watching. Hopefully the dog will lose interest and everyone can go about their business. The pics are very cute! So are there just 4 boys in your family or do you have sisters, too?

Anne Marie - We will have to settle for meeting at WDW if you all are there when we are. I am already missing 8 days of work for that trip, so I can't take off a few weeks before and go to the DDA meet. But it sounds REALLY fun!

so it will just be Steve and I - I have no problem meeting the other kids!!

How many truffles do you make with the 1 8z pack of cc & the package of oreos? How big do you make them?

I made about 3 dozen of them. I made them with my cookie scoop so they were about 1 inch or so. Maybe a bit bigger. You could make them smaller and that wouldn't be a bad thing. They are really rich tasting. I'm making some more today. I ran out!

Cute pictures Tom, the kitty is adorable. I agree the name should should be Figaro.
The second name that popped in my head tho was Midnite.

Midnite was the name of our big black rabbit that lived for many years! We got him when we lived at the farm, he lived with my parents when we first moved over here and was living in the motel, and then he moved here with us.

Tom - the pictures are precious! I had an all black cat when I was young. His name was Black Magic, which was shortened to Magic. I'm guessing your twin is the one to your mom's left, in the red stripes.

Count me in for a NYC meet. Is this going to be kids as well? I've been wanting to take the kids to see the Statue of Liberty, and this would be a good excuse to see Mary Poppins, if it is still playing.

Robyn - :grouphug: your family is in my prayers. I'm so sorry for your loss.

I was going to guess the same one as his twin. I wonder if we are right. I'll keep reading.

I think Kate said she's be up the friday before so 7/28 might be good!

Ok, Tom you are on the maybe list.

Hmmmm. I wonder if Chuck would be up for a long distance trip with the camper this summer? Only problem is that is the family reunion week-end that I promised Becky we'd go to this year since we've missed it because of Girl Scout camp the last 6 years.

Well my team Christmas party is over. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and they all ate quite well. When Chuck got home from work last night, I went shopping for the groceries and my exchange gift. Chuck helped me make everything we could last night and got up early this morning to put the Prime Rib on the grill. Here's our menu:

Hors Doerves
Taco Salad & tostitos
Meat & Cheese Tray with crackers
Shrimp & shrimp dip
Beef rollups (jellied beef with cream cheese & green onions rolled up)

Meal
Prime Rib on the grill
Hash Brown Delight
Stir Fry Vegetables
Taffy Apple Salad
Mandarin Orange Salad

Dessert
Turtle Brownies (with no nuts though)
Fruit Pizza

For my exchange gift, I gave a back massage/heating chair pad and a battery operated Black & Decker Screwdriver/Drill. Miles really seemed to like both. I got both of them because they were things that I would have liked to get.

I made out like a bandit. I got a candle & gift certificate from Matt who had my name in the exchange. I also got the coolest picnic backpack from Eva. The big area is insulated and there is a front pocket with plates, silverware, cups, and even cloth napkins. Chuck thinks it would be great for our kayak trips and I agree! I love eagles and I got a eagle statue from Miles and an eagle plaque display from Toan. Tony got me a snowman and some chocolates. Rebecca & Dean said my gift hadn't arrived yet so that is yet to come. I am always embarassed when they do this since we exchange names. I got all the extra gifts because I'm their supervisor. I gave them $25 each for Christmas again this year with the stipulation they buy something nice for themselves.

Vicki

I sent you a pm the other day and based on the one you just sent me I am guessing you never got it - I ave had some problems with disappearing pms lately

if you didn't just get one from me - pm me again

Vicki - Wow! That is a lot of loot! :rotfl: DH got a ham at work. We didn't get a ham last year, so that must be a new thing. And we were going to buy a ham anyway, so that worked out well! I used to work for a doctor and he would come in with LOADS of presents from the pharmaceutical reps. Food, mostly. And it was GOOD! I should have been a doctor.

Speaking of loot, I have to wrap Brother & Sister's presents tonight so they can have them tomorrow! It is the last night of Hanukkah, so I am sliding in just under the wire on that one!

Our tree is coming along. Well, sort of. DS put the Pooh ornaments all around the bottom. It is a set of decoupage balls I got at the Disney Store YEARS ago. We do them in a ring around the bottom branches because if the cats knock them off it won't matter. Brother & I popped into Hallmark today to buy a Mickey ornament. I will give it to DS when I get home.

Thank you to Lindsay and Elizabeth for the cards. Bernadette thank you for the postcard.

Bernadette, thanks for the post card.

Glynis & Elizabeth thamk you for the Christmas cards.

Would someone who has the DDA contact info, please work with me through PMs?

The person who sends out the info, I can never open her attachments, so at one point Kate pmed me the entire list. Well there has been a couple of updates and of course I still couldn't open them. Kate has been busy with WPASADI so I don't want to bother her.

Thanks, Heidi

I know that you are being serious, but I was wondering if I could use brilliance as my excuse for not doing housework. Yes dear, I know that the house is a mess, but I just don't get how to keep it clean :rotfl: Do you think he'd buy it? ;)

Deb

Not now. :wave2:

Just a heads up everyone. The boards will be down as of 5pm Friday.

Over the holiday weekend we will be upgrading the boards to the latest version of the VBulletin software. This upgrade will involve major downtime for the boards. I will be bringing them down around 5pm on Friday and it will take 24 to 48 hours to upgrade them.
The new VBulletin has a host of exciting new features, this should really make the boards a better place for all of us.
Alex

What will we do :confused3
