I brought Alyssa home from preschool and she proceeded to tell me that she didn't like where I put the tree this year. Usually it is in the front room, but I decided to put it in the family room this year so we could enjoy it while we sit and watch tv. When it's in the front room we never see it. I explained this to her, and then in her best 4 year old home makeover voice, she tell me to put the tree where the rocking chair is, move the rocking chair to where there is currently an end table, beside the love seat. You know, she actually might be right. Who knew?!

I'll have to keep my eye out. I like the fat ones too. I have too many ornaments for a skinny one.
We have a really full one and I just want to warn you that the bottom 1/3 of the tree is SO heavy that I honestly don't think I could put it up by myself and I think I'm relatively strong. I should have know when I went to buy it and I couldn't even slide the box onto the shopping cart. I had to have help getting it on the cart and into the car.

Now I need pixie dust and advice!!

Jim fell this morning on a small patch of ice. His arm will be in a sling for a couple of weeks.....I don't drive (don't have a license...long story) so we need pixie dust that he won't find driving hard to Golden. That's the need for pixie dust.

advice:

Cassidy thinks Abi found Cassidy's present from the big man....what do I do? This really is his last year coming to my house...either that or he doesn't come back this year??? HELP!!!

Ouch! I hope that the drive isn't too much for Jim. :wizard:

I need some DDA prayers right now! Alan just called me. His last news story of the day was to cover a fire at a local business. As he got there, an ambulance was getting ready to pull away. Alan got his camera out to shoot the video, and noticed that the spouse of the injured man was our neighbor! It was her husband who was burned in the fire! He's got 3rd degree burns over 21% of his body and his hands are really bad.

Alan finished the story, and went to the hospital to be there for Jill and their 3 sons. I'm just so saddened by this! Please pray for Louis and Jill Jasperson and their 3 boys. This will be a very hard holiday season for them, I'm sure!

Thanks, everyone!
Prayers for all!

Well, it took a lot longer than we expected, but we are home from the hospital, and I don't have time to catchup right now, but wanted to post our update!!

Our new granddaughter, Hayley Jeanne was born at 11:05 this morning by cesarean section. She weighed in at 9 lbs 10 oz, and is 21.5 inches long. Jamie was in labor for a total of about 21 hours, and believe me she tried to push her out, but Hayley is a very big girl. Jamie had a fever at delivery, so Hayley will be on IV antibiotics in the special care nursery for 48 hours as a precaution, and Jamie is also on antibiotics. We went up to the hospital at 9pm last night and stayed up all night waiting, so we didn't end up getting to see Jamie after the delivery. We stayed at the hospital until about 2pm today, but Jamie was sleeping, and needed her rest. Aside from the fever Jamie and Hayley are doing fine, and they were both real troopers through the whole thing. We did get to see Hayley in the nursery with Shawn for a couple of minutes. Here she is, and I may be biased, but I think she is absolutely beautiful.

Congratulations! She is beautiful...just looks so perfect. I'm glad that Mom and baby are doing well despite a long day and going in a little sick.

Thought I would post some pictures of the tree in living room. It is not our Disney tree. That is in Kristin's room and I will take pictures of it later. I collect Santas and have many ornamnents as well as figurines. Only a few fit on the new slimline tree I bought last weekend.

Love your Santa tree-love your tree topper! I have a Santa collection too. My SIL has given me some really nice ones. Here are some photos from 2004 as I don't have them all up yet. And a photo of the stockings I made the kids a few years ago (up til like 3am Christmas eve making them).

Hey what happened to only 3 pages being posted???? Now it is over 50?

Just got home and need to calm down. Hate driving up from Baltimore.
Got another picture of Chucky and I in the cockpit. This time I even got to sit in the Co-Captain's chair!!!! Way Cool.

I rode the RocNRollercoaster. Screamed bloody He}} the whole time :lmao: :lmao:

Still trying to absorb everything. What a difference from yesterday and today with the weather.

Later!!

Welcome home!

Just a quick catch up! The cow's costume is nearing completion and didn't take much longer than I had figured. Most of it was trying to think it out and go from an 8" sketch with written measurements to a 42" Santa coat. I just have to add the trim, but want to take the coat up to try on the actual cow costumer first. So, I'll do that tomorrow and finish it up tomorrow night. Thank goodness it didn't turn out to be more than I bargained for.

Now it's just onto the trip stuff tomorrow! I keep forgetting to find my transfers and autograph papers before Phil goes to bed around 6 each night so I've got to do that tomorrow! Fingers are crossed that I don't run out of ink. I think Dad has enough, but we'll see for sure. In looking for my sewing stuff today I found the ponchos, light chasers (I hate buying more every time) and a few other trip things so those are out and ready. Guess I had better print my packing list soon to make sure I have everything.

In case I don't make it back again tonight...Have a good night everyone!!!

talking to my hubby on pain meds is a funny thing!!

I called him on his cell to discuss whether they thought he was going to stay at work or send him home, they ended up sending him home:

Hubby: I'm getting a ride home
Me: good, what about our car and how are you getting into work tomorrow?
Hubby: I'm getting a ride home
Me: that's great what about tomorrow
Hubby: I may not work tomorrow.
Me: good to know, how about the car?
hubby: I'm getting a ride home.
me: that's good, what about the car?
hubby: somebody is driving me home.
me: car???
hubby: oh some one's driving me home in our car and some one else is following.
me: can you call Dixie to pick up the kids or should I?
me: how are the pain meds?
hubby: they are great...I am talking more than I normally do. (duh!! :rotfl2: )
me: so can you call Dixie or shall I.
hubby: I will in a couple of minutes
me: call her now before you forget!
