Well, it took a lot longer than we expected, but we are home from the hospital, and I don't have time to catchup right now, but wanted to post our update!!

Our new granddaughter, Hayley Jeanne was born at 11:05 this morning by cesarean section. She weighed in at 9 lbs 10 oz, and is 21.5 inches long. Jamie was in labor for a total of about 21 hours, and believe me she tried to push her out, but Hayley is a very big girl. Jamie had a fever at delivery, so Hayley will be on IV antibiotics in the special care nursery for 48 hours as a precaution, and Jamie is also on antibiotics. We went up to the hospital at 9pm last night and stayed up all night waiting, so we didn't end up getting to see Jamie after the delivery. We stayed at the hospital until about 2pm today, but Jamie was sleeping, and needed her rest. Aside from the fever Jamie and Hayley are doing fine, and they were both real troopers through the whole thing. We did get to see Hayley in the nursery with Shawn for a couple of minutes. Here she is, and I may be biased, but I think she is absolutely beautiful.

You'll get it done, Deb! I think I'm further behind than you, because I still have a lot of shopping to do. Dh stops work on the 15th (if there are no crises), because he still has two weeks of vacation time left. That will make some things easier and some harder.

I also agree with the added pressure that the school projects and holiday concerts bring. Why can't we have concerts in January when everyone needs a little break?! I only have two this year, because the orchestras and bands are playing at the same ones for a change. And I guess I'd rather have projects now than over the break, but it still adds stress.

To top it off, we have only one week and one day off for break this year! We visit my parents and Michael's parents, so we won't be getting much time at home.

Sorry for the complaints this morning. I just feel like I'm ready to explode with everything to get done and no time to do it. Now you know that you probably won't see a lot of me until after Christmas.

Beth

:grouphug: I can feel your stress!

I've got most of my shopping done. Just need to get something for my SIL and my Mom. I think I know what to get SIL but no idea for my Mom. What can I get someone in a nursing home?

I've actually wrapped almost everything I've purchased (well Santa doesn't wrap here). I am waiting on an Amazon order and Kodak order.

I've got all the addresses in Word for the DDA for postcards just want to add a few family & friends before printing. I purchased Avery postcards so I have to do some design and print those.

I printed Maria's name designs to make a pillowcase for the characters to sign. I brought the names and pillowcase into the office and had one of the magazine designers help me come up with a layout. So now I have to iron them all all.

We did get the tree up but still have to do other decorating. I still haven't taken a Christmas card photo. Joe got a hair cut today and I've got appointments for the girls tomorrow.

I need to get my car fixed-there is something wrong with the power steering. I'm hoping its not too expensive. I've got 108,000 miles on the car and am hoping to get a few more years out of it but don't want to spend too much to fix it. BUT...I really need to empty my trunk of gifts before I bring it in for repairs. I've also got a few returns to make. I bought my MIL a phone on black Friday but then found a better one on sale. It is the only receipt from black Friday that I cannot find. :confused3

AND I need to PACK.

Becky It's good to see you posting again. Utility companies can certainly be pitas. I finally cut back on our telephone service as they couldn't make my caller id work properly. They kept saying it was my phone, but I replaced the phone and it still didn't work :confused3 so instead of paying $54 a month for unlimited local, call waiting, caller id and *69, I have cut back to just a basic local plan for $18 per month. Since I don't have dialup I don't need unlimited local. I say when life throws you salt make margaritas :teeth:
Have a nice time in NYC.

I need more than local so that I can call my MIL and my siblings. I have Verizon Freedom Essentials with call waiting (never use that), caller ID, voice mail, unlimited local and unlimited US calling for $39.99/month. It comes out to about $50 with all the fees/taxes.

FYI if you tried earlier today to order POTC2 off Overstock.com you may have got a sold out message, but they are available now. I just ordered mine :cool1:

Debbie, thanks for the card, my boys enjoyed decorating it :thumbsup2

Have you considered buying her a digital picture frame. Depending on the memory you can put a bunch of pictures in it and it does a slide show right there in the fram. I bought one for myself and can't wait to use it. I have a lot of family that has bought them for their parents/grandparents in similar situations.

That's not a bad price. We had unlimited local, CW, Caller ID and *69 with no long distance and after taxes it was $54/mth.
