I didn't want to see it the first time. DH was on his way into the city & saw the towers on fire. Many people from our community including Dana went in to volunteer to help. They did a lockdown on Katie's school so I couldn't even get to her (she was in kindergarten). I guess people are interested but once for enough for me. Sorry for the rant, but it feels like it was yesterday.

:grouphug: :grouphug: How frightening not to be able to get to your child.

I will give a little more here b/c I don't think Tammi realizes how funny their excahnge was:

so he finally gets back and we find the ring - Tammi's response was classic:

"that's it - that's not a ring - I waited all that time to see that!?!?!?!?!"

So then Tammi asks him

t: "got any other good stories for us"
cm: "what one do you want to know"
t: "well if I knew it then I wouldn't have to ask you"
cm: kind of looked like a deer in headlights :teeth:
t: "tel us about the yellow streets"
cm: "what?"
t: "you know the streets are yellow b/c of the pee"
the poor cm looked totally confused and seemed lost!
t: never mind -

we thanked him profusely and decided that we needed to add him to our list of CMs we wanted to write Disney about (which we never have) but I questioned how we would remember his name...
Dan, Dan, the Haunted Mansion Man!

I didn't know that there were still half day kindergartens out there. Our district switched sometime in the 5 years between Laura and Miles. I fought tooth and nail against it, but it didn't do any good. It was so hard to send Miles to kindergarten for a full day, but I will admit that he loved school from the beginning. Matthew and Laura were both afternoon K.

Half day kindergarten, here! I hate it! I would rather have them in school all day! I just don't feel that being there for 3 hours does much for them. Besides, my kids hated coming home from kindergarten!

I dont think I would like to watch the events in real time - it would be very painful

although maybe people who have young children would want to tape it so they could watch it when they are older - that day was so unbelievable - watching it like that might be a good history lesson in the future

I don't want our country to ever forget - and I think about how Pearl Harbor is no big deal to our generation - but it shaped our grandparents generation

You can get upgrades with your miles. You can buy holiday gifts with your miles. (Did you fly CO on your last trip?)

Nope we usually fly Virgin Atlantic... might use them next year though.
Although I have heard of this Scottish economy airline called Flyglobespan that fly to Sanford for ridicululously cheap prices... might have to try them!

If each of us placed a purple silk rose on June's bench every time we took a trip I reckon it would become a Disney legend... threads would pop up all over the DIS with people trying to find out why they appeared...like the wedding rings outside of Hanuted Mansion... I think June would get a kick out of that :)

Great idea! June would get a real chuckle out of it, wouldn't she?

After this, you have the nerve to ask....... :lmao:

Yep. It wasn't too bad. Her friend was at the bus stop with her & they got on together so she wasn't nervous. Dana took me out for lunch to cheer me up. We had a nice long talk about our trip. As we were chatting I noticed he said "yea when we go to Disney next year..blah..blah" Next year??? :mickeyjum
I don't know what he said after that..all I heard was "next year when er go to Disney" :woohoo: He thinks we are going next year!

Woohoo! Time to start planning again, right? Don't ask questions, just go for it!

WOOHOO!!!

Happy 63,000!!!

This one is for you, June!
