Thanks for asking. It rained here all day today, but we built the deck anyway. We have a 12 X 12 canopy and since the deck was 10 X 4 we were able to put the tent over the deck and work under it. We still got wet, but did I mention that the deck is done. Oh yeah, it looks amazing and I am totally stoked. Chris, My brother and a good friend finished it after I went to work tonight so I was too dark to take photos when I got home. I'll take some pictures tomorrow.

Deb

Hooray another DIY triumph! Get those pictures taken I love to see other people's masterpieces... and holiday snaps... and kids... and weddings... and babies... and parties... Keep 'em coming!

Theresa that's Fantasmic news! :Pinkbounc

I've just been over on the trip reports board... and it appears there is another group on the DIS called the Secret Green Club they all have green in their avatars. It's actually really hard to read their reports as there are lots of "in jokes" and banter in between the posts, and it got me thinking are we like that when we post outside of the DDA thread?

I don't think so but I'm not sure. Here's one the of the reports in case you want to see what I mean http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1198005&page=3&pp=15

Ok so being sick is out, but glad to hear you will consider the trip anyway.

What school do you work in with only 6 employees?

I teach in a private Yamaha Music School. I teach piano, composition, theory and voice. We have about 400 students.

How was your day in Richmond, Elin?

We had a ball! Went out to breakfast with Kathrin and then picked Kristin up at her dorm. Took her to Starbucks to get her heart started and then they ganged up on me and took me to a salon to get my hair cut. It is VERY different and I will post pictures after I play with it today and make it look more like me and less like a movie star. :goodvibes

Then we shopped for me again! I ended up with two pair of cropped pants to start out the school year in colors I would never have chosen; one pair is rust and the other pair is olive. I had to go down another size and that just about made my day right there.

Then we went to two restaurants and had tapas and beers and sat outside on the porches or decks. It was a delightful ending to a great weekend!

Thanks for asking, Tammi.

What did you and the kids do?

I call it Drama. WHy, because I have so many things that I do or redo over and over. I plan the crap out of things sometimes.

Oh, Paula... we ALL do... that is what drew us all together here on the DIS and ultimately to this Board!

Me too!! I am actually sitting here looking over my multi-sheet excel document seeing what I need to update, expand, etc. :teeth: And that is why we are on the DIS and more importantly on the DDA.

what she said...

Marci and Karen -- wish the news about your Mom and Grandma was better. Still keeping you and your families in my thoughts.

Just a drive by post this morning, life is even crazier than normal this week.

PD and prayers to all.

Nope. Consensus from the computer experts is that the hard drive is fried and there is no retrieving the data. The tapes are gone (probably the same place as all my missing socks), so we're back to square one. Alan is getting ready to meet with the client tomorrow to explain and start over.

That is so sad and frustrating too. Here's hoping Alan has a great meeting today with a very understanding client!

Thank you Paula. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

As I now have that song stuck in my head. :rotfl2: :lmao:

But perhaps it will keep my mind off of food and that would be a very good thing. Cause oh my good any and everything sounds yummy right now, even stuff I absolutely do no like. It is defitinitely due to TOM but it is really annoying. As I have one bite of popcorn, and one of peanut brittle, some grapes, and 3 jelly beans, and a few mandarin oranges and so on and so fourth, let's just say it is pretty bad and I am not happy about it. Although I am proud of myself for only having a small amount of each item instead of a whole bag and I ate things that aren't completly bad for you.

I even tried a trick I just read in a magazine to smell certain scents like peppermint, vanilla, banana and they are supposed to make the hunger go away. It so totally did not work and made me crave bananas which I despise, peppermints stick ice cream, and chocolate chips cookies. I think their theory is flawed or I am messed up in the brain. :teeth:

my favorite. I had to break down and buy a kiddie cup of it last week after a co worker came in with an enormous bowl full of it from our corner ice cream shop. I put it off for three days and finally I got out of my car on Thursday after lunch and it was screaming at me to come in a buy some! Figured I had better nip that craving in the bud.

This too shall pass, Becky and your hormones will get back in lline and the cravings will stop and you will be fine.

I liked the Lazurus Man series that Robert Urich also was in. I was so disappointed when he got cancer and they never made another season. That was a cool concept for a show.

I really liked him too. We saw him as the narrator at a Candlelight Processional years ago. maybe 10-11?? Such a handsome man and he seemed so genuine in this role, like Gary Sinese is now.

Deb - I am glad your deck got finished despite the weather. I wish you all would send some of that rain our way! I have hay in my backyard....

Chuck & I are trying to schedule it as well. I think that we should be able to come with no problem. He wasn't happy when I said I was planning on going. I talked with him later and found out that it isn't me going as much as me going without him. So Chuck is coming too!!!! :woohoo:

IF I come, I think Bob would probably want to tag along too. Not os much for Disneyland, but to go back to California. He liked the state, as a whole and I always enjoy my business trips to the Buena Park/Cerritos area.
