I forgot to tell you all what my Dr said on friday. she said that I definetally tore my tendon. she said at least half way or more but not completely. she said to keep wearing the aircast and wraping it with the ace wrap. though she did not say for how long. I am hoping it will be completey well by my trip. as the aircast makes my leg sweat and thus makes my leg itch. She offered to right an order for me to stay off work for awhile longer. but I told her I did not have enough sick time left. so trying to stay off it as much as I can when I am home and sitting as much as possible when at work. which is hard for a nurse sometimes.
of Course you all would have laughed at me sat and sun. its the weekend so the managers our not their so I sat down in a wheelchair and wheeled my self up and doen the halls. would park the wheelchair outside of the room of my patient then walk in the room take care of the patient then go back out of the room to the wheelchair sit and chart then go back to the desk.

Oh no!!! I hope that it heals soon and at least in time to have a good trip with no cast. :grouphug: :wizard:

Can someone please tell me the technical difference between Diet Coke and Coke Zero? I just bought a Coke Zero at the store and it tastes like diet to me.

I know I need to drop my "real" soda calories as a start to losing this pregnancy weight, but I really hate the taste of diet cola.

I used the numbers trick to buy some more Zizzlingers today, but some of the imprinted codes definitely ended with numbers other than 1 and 2. Any insight on that?

And I'm showing some amazing self-control right now...all three packages we bought today are in the cupboard. I'm saving them for the days that Alyssa is really trying my patience. :teeth:

Paula the ballet skirt looks wonderful :thumbsup2 Your autograph book looks great as well!

Coca Cola Zero - Sweetened with aspartame and acesulfame potassium., the reason this is different than Diet Coke is Coca Cola Zero is a sugar free version of the Classic Coke formulation. In other words, this is meant to be a sugar free version of the red cans of Coke you know and may or may not love. It has a redder, deeper color close to the color of Classic Coke and tastes far less like a diet soda (by many accounts) than Diet Coke.

I thought it would make a good travelling game too - and I agree characters would be better... why I picked attractions to test myself I'll never know! (And don't tell anyone but I obviously had my friend google helping me along... sshhh!)
I'm still impressed as I might have only gotten half even with google. :thumbsup2

Amy,

Diet Coke has aspartame and Coke Zero doesn't.

I really did think it had Splenda in it, my girlfriend who drinks it told me that was the difference. Guess I was wrong! Wouldn't be the first time

Is anyone here familiar with the "Flat Stanley" Project??

In a nut shell: (this is our letter)

Hi there!!
As part of our integrated Reading, Writing, Language, Social Studies, and Mathematics programs we have read a funny book called Flat Stanley by Jeff Brown. The book is about a young boy named Stanley who is accidentally squished "as flat as a pancake" when a bulletin board falls on him. Stanley is very, very flat but otherwise fine. The story goes on to tell how Stanley discovers some real advantages to being flat. He can slide under doors, go down into sidewalk grates, and even fold himself up small enough to fit into an envelope and be mailed to California for an exciting vacation.
We are sending FLAT STANLEY to visit cities all over America and the WORLD. I have selected you to be FLAT STANLEY's "host family" and hope that you will send him back to me after a short visit. We would also appreciate it if you could snap a few pictures of Stanley’s visit so we can put them in our journal.
Thank you for letting my FLAT STANLEY come to visit you!

I am looking for volunteers!! Anyone willing to take on a Stanley??

I wish! I work for the state so nothing is based on performance. The really bad managers make the same as me (or more if they have been here longer). It is just reassuring to me that I'm doing things right. I get a lot of flak sometimes for being pushy but the results show that is one of my strengths. Which is kind of funny and sad all at once.

ETA: Thanks for the kind words about knowing I'd do well!

Job well done Vicki! :cheer2:

Quick update. My brother is out of surgery and apparently it went better than expected. It was a same day procedure so he should be home this evening. Thank you for all the prayers and pixie dust, it apparently helped :thumbsup2

Deb
Glad to hear your brother is doing so well

:rotfl: I think that the problem is trying to represent a country by a few foods. I think that the food at the Biergarten is pretty traditional German food. Now there is so much variety/blending in foods from other countries. My brother lived in Germany for 2 years. He went to Italian restaurants, etc. while there as well as eating the more traditional foods. For example, I wouldn't think of pancakes and grilled cheese as typical American foods (though we do eat them), so that is why it's hard to represent an entire country with just a sampling of foods.

We didn't try the Harry Ramsdens Fish (because none of us like fish). Ds bought a container of chips, though, and really enjoyed them.
I remember when we ate at the Mexican restaurant inside the pyramid for dinner, the kids were terribly upset that they didn't have tacos. They were like this isn't mexican food, they don't have any tacos. It was the only mexican food they ate at the time so to them that was mexican food. And when Morrocco first opened when I was a kid we walked by and looked at the menu. :scared1: It was a little too authentic for my parents and they canceled our reservation. A lot of people were canceling/complaining to the hostess about the menu. Since then I noticed they have modified the menu. :confused3

I can't help you! The only packages I've seen have had either 1 or 2.

Way to go on the self-control! I can't wait to hear what you get, though.

This is the best we have ever done...but I can tell you it isn't fun....and we are hungry quite often. Bill goes in waves of crankiness...he misses ice cream.
:grouphug: When I had gestational diabetes and gave up chocolate I was a grump. I hope it gets easier for both of you. :wizard:

I'd be happy to have Stanley come to Utah for a visit.

IMMEDIATE PRAYERS NEEDED PLEASE!!!

Dawn just called me. Caroline is in the NICU, because she choked on her spit-up this afternoon to the point she couldn't breathe and had a seizure. Luckily, she and Dawn had just been to the doctor, so they rushed back and he stopped the seizure. She's had a spinal and she's about to undergo an EEG. So far everything has come back positive, so they're praying the seizure was a result of her lack of air. Hopefully Caroline just has an extreme case of reflux, but they won't know for a few hours yet.

I will keep you updated as soon as I hear anything else!

Well, im back from the doctor...Im happy about no surgery, but im not happy with him! I have been having thyroid tumors/problems since i was 8..i can tell when my levels are off and ive been feeling horrible for about a month...he said that "it cant be related to the thyroid"...
So i asked him if we could change the meds and he said no way and that he will check me again in 2.5 months..so maybe things will settle down and if not , maybe he will change s omething....sometimes doctors just drive me crazy~!! sorry, had to vent!
 I am so sorry your dr. isn't listening to you. I have been struggling with my thyroid for 5 years and I had to switch drs twice as I needed something done ASAP. I was barely able to function and take care of my boys. I finally found a dr. who listens to me and has upped my dose. I have an easier time getting up and doing things now. Can you switch doctors to someone who takes you seriously? :wizard: I hope things improve and you get to feeling normal soon.
