Jen, so glad Alex is doing better.

Glynis, love the stencil shirts.

Steffy, we talked a lot about you and Miss Blueberry tonight. Were your ears burning?

Lindsay, are you getting a new job? saw your "subtle" message.

Well my sister Debi and I met with Denise, Julia and Lynn and we really had a nice time. I was so happy she was able to come. We met at Olive Garden. Did a lot of talking. My sister Debi is still not 100% up to par so we all left about 9:15. I will post a picture later. Thomas had a good time. Lots of girl talk so he tried not to listen too much!!
We talked so much that we only got one picture on my camera and one on Denise's. :rotfl:

I am soo happy you all had a greaat time. I especially delighted that Debi went

Oh, here's Chrissie's house.... nevermind. can't get into photo :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: bucket...

I'm so jealous of yet another meet in January! You guys are going to have such a great time - even if some of you are running a marathon! ;)

Who's running? I'll be walking (or wogging), thank you very much!

By the way, I love the new pic in your siggy!

We've always done a late breakfast seating for Kona (my favorite for b-fast btw, next to Chef Mickey's). I think they go as late as 11 a.m.! If it's your last day, you could sleep in, take your time checking out, and then head over and fatten up for your return flight home!

That sounds perfect! I'm hoping to just take it easy that last day, and do just what I want to do. Kona has been on my list since I first read about Tonga Toast!

Just walked in the door from dinner. It was wonderful meeting Terry and her sister Debbi, and seeing Lynn and Julia again. We had a great time and we all stuck to our diets! I got a cute picture of us with PM, and I'll post it later.

Glad to hear you guys had a great time!

Awesome shirts, Glynis! And it sounds so easy!

So incredibly easy!!!!! Place the stencil, open a bottle of paint, point and spray. Couldn't be simpler! I can't wait to get more stencils.

Yes. There's a huge thread on it on the cruise board. John just really didn't want to cruise on so many levels. I love him too much to pick a trip he is truly uncomfortable with, so we're headed to the Big Apple for Thanksgiving instead! Yippee!!!!!!!!!

You guys will have an awesome time either way. NYC is in the top 5 of my favorite places in the world. Your list sounds great! :thumbsup2

I'm going to likely try later this year. I'm a bit like the Little Boy that Cried Wolf as I want a new job about this time of the year every year since I'm so tired, but I think it's getting to be time. I've been at my firm 6 years, we'll likely begin thinking about having a family within the next 2, and what I do now is not a conducive career for that, if I can't just stay home period.

The big question is - where do I go? I'm not sure.

Hey - I'm impressed! The thought of a marathon of any length breaks me out into hives! :rotfl:

Thanks for the comments on my pic! That is a DL Mickey, actually! He was just hanging out all by himself inside the firehouse one afternoon when we were there in January post Rose Bowl. We got to spend some great time with him, and it was his idea to Hook 'em for the camera! :cheer2:

We had that same weather here. I am so glad that you are ok. I am still counting my blessings that I did not go out for my walk 30 minutes later than I did or I would have had one frightening walk through the woods with the nickel sized hail, wind, lightening, thunder and pouring down rain.

I'm glad too! Did you get the sideways rain? I always love that. The rain says you have a umbrella huh? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Paula Sending you :grouphug: and :wizard: . I am so sorry you have to go through this. Let me know if there is anything I can do for you.

If you go to the website www.plaidonline.com and search for brass stencils a whole bunch will come up. If I can't find them at the various Michael's around here, I'm going to order some. It was so much easier than making a paste. The paint dries really quickly, too. That's a plus when the kids want to wear the shirts right away.

Oh, I also found some of the same paint that is glitter. I bought the iridescent kind, but they also have gold and silver. Yu ccan't really see it on the Tink shirt, but I sprayed it with the glitter and in the sun it really sparkles like pixie dust!

It turned out so well, that Katie wants me to do one of Tink on the back pocket of her jeans for school. I bought some lime green paint and will try it. So many ideas, so little time!!!!
Another thing you can use is contact paper. You can cut out designs of whatever you want and stick them fast to the shirt. Peel them off after the shirt has dried. You can also use the foam shapes that have the sticky stuff already on the back. That is what my Brownie troop used, one bucket was plenty for shirts, bandanas, and for a few other projects throughout the year.

Thanks for all the awesome NYC info. Y'all are great. We have not booked anything yet, I just know what day we'll go (for the ticker). I think the Times Square would be best so we are close to stuff and the parade.

Things we want to do:
  • Empire State Bldg
  • Ground Zero
  • See the Christmas lights and store fronts
  • Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island
  • American Girl Store
  • FAO Schwartz and/or Toys R Us
  • Love to take a carriage ride through Central Park
  • Maybe go see the Today show
  • NBC tour and/or Rockettes (John and I saw the touring show)
  • Ice skating at Rockefeller Center
Anything else that's a must do?

This looks like a great list. I'll ask my friend in California where she stayed last year. She could see the parade from her window. It was great. Terry and I love NYC....

I love the Radio City show. I know the kids will love it too. Wonderful. :santa:

BK will love the american Girl Store/Museum. The boys will slowly tie their scarfs around their necks...John will need to find some father and son activity for a few hours. :) :)

Going to bed for real now - I only want to eat at about 15 restaurants in the span of 3 days! :rotfl2:

Sure did, lots of places around here still don't have electricity. First flooding now no electricity for days in some places. I sure hope this weather starts behaving.

Are there duck tours in NYC?
Are you looking to find yourself another Capt. Kent??? :teeth: :rotfl2: :lmao:

It appears they were reccently trying to get them there and it hasn't worked out yet. As there have been controversy environmental concerns, noise concerns, etc.

So it appears so far no ducks in NYC. Perhaps till next summer.

I might have to join you on an NYC meet, if and when it happens.
