The DDA Trouble Free Zone Part 10

We just hung out here today...took the girls shopping at the mall for an hour. Got Sophie her first school backpack..of course from the Disney Store. She picked out Cinderella & is very excited to start kindergarten this fall. Walmart also had a great school supply sale so I got that done. All I have to do is pack the backpacks & leave them by the door & they are ready for school.

DH has business in Buffalo so we decided to make a little trip out of it. We will be heading up to take the kids to see Niagara Falls this weekend. We had family up there when I was a kid & so I was there every summer & alot of holidays so I have done everything at the Falls (maid of the mist, going behind the falls, etc) however my kids & DH have never been so they are excited. Tammi, I know you said you were going...but I don't remember when.

Katie is at the American Idol concert. Her friend & friends mom invited her. (First real concert. ) And she took a purse!!! & she put on lip gloss! Oh my little girl!

Paula -- you are doing a remarkable thing for your SIL. I truly hope she gets her wish!

Amy -- thanks so much for posting. The pictures of both of your children are adorable. I'm glad you are feeling okay. Good luck on your first day alone with them both. I know you'll do well. All that matters is getting them fed and taking care of them. Don't worry about the house or anything else for a while.

just got back from seeing The Lion King. GREAT play. i am sooooooo ready to stay at akl now. cant wait to see fotlk at ak either. i was almost in tears with all the costumes and pagentry. cant wait for december.

The kids LOVED their Texas and UP Michigan postcards. They also got 3 from my parents today (they are in Alaska on vacation). That's 9 in one day! They hit the jackpot!

Last but not least, Katie with her ice cream birthday cake. By the end of the party, most of the girls were sick of ice cream, so we took pictures, but saved the cake for when the other family members came home.

Why is everyone so quiet today?!!?

OH THEY AREN'T!!!!! We were all chatting in person!!

I have to tell you that I just spent the best day with 10 delightful women (and one charming man!!)

No one would have ever guessed that we just met each other today - we all had a fabulous time and spent almost the whole day chatting!! Kind of like when we are on here together!!!!!

Everyone says HI - I am the only one with internet!

We will give full trip reports soon- but this afternoon we went on the DC Duck tour and it was a blast!! The rest of the day was spent eating, drinking and talking!!!

Steve even told me - "now I get it!!!!!!!"

Paula - your website is great - someone pass the tissues please!!

I'm so glad that you all are having a marvelous time!!! I think it's great that the feelings from the DDA are still there in person! Thanks for posting and letting us know that you all are having so much fun! I hope you thought about those of us that couldn't be there. She has been in the hospital w/ a fever for over 34 hours now. I don’t know all the details (because I am low on the totem pole) but all of the family has driven down from Redding (SIL A is flying in now and her DH and kids will be driving up from Vegas in the morning) to be with her. The Doc will not let her be transported to Redding (3 ½ + hrs north) because he feels she will pass on the way. I swear she is dying of a broken heart right now.

I may not be around for a bit, but I will try to post updates when I can. If you don’t mind will you please keep her in your prayers. Thank you all so very much. Thank you for looking at our web page. SIL A and I are going to continue to work on it when we can because we will not stop praying for her to see her baby before she passes.
