Why is everyone so quiet today?!!?

OH THEY AREN'T!!!!! We were all chatting in person!!

I have to tell you that I just spent the best day with 10 delightful women (and one charming man!!;))

No one would have ever guessed that we just met each other today - we all had a fabulous time and spent almost the whole day chatting!! Kind of like when we are on here together!!!!!

Everyone says HI - I am the only one with internet!

We will give full trip reports soon- but this afternoon we went on the DC Duck tour and it was a blast!! The rest of the day was spent eating, drinking and talking!!!

Steve even told me - "now I get it!!!!!!!"

Amy - I love the pictures!! Matthew is beautiful!

Paula - your website is great - someone pass the tissues please!!

Glynis - looks like a great time was had by all

AND

it is still flipping hot!!

:sad1: I missed it! :sad1: I am so glad to hear that you all had such a wonderful time. I was thinking about you all day thinking I'd much prefer to me flipping hot with all of you then home alone.

I didn’t tell you all that my SIL T(Tammy) only made it to San Francisco on Friday afternoon because of some complications from flying and saying goodbye to her daughter. She has been in the hospital w/ a fever for over 34 hours now. I don’t know all the details (because I am low on the totem pole) but all of the family has driven down from Redding (SIL A is flying in now and her DH and kids will be driving up from Vegas in the morning) to be with her. The Doc will not let her be transported to Redding (3 ½ + hrs north) because he feels she will pass on the way. I swear she is dying of a broken heart right now.

I may not be around for a bit, but I will try to post updates when I can. If you don’t mind will you please keep her in your prayers. Thank you all so very much. Thank you for looking at our web page. SIL A and I are going to continue to work on it when we can because we will not stop praying for her to see her baby before she passes.

Thank you again your support has kept me from losing it.

Thank you,
~Paula

:grouphug: :grouphug: , Paula. I hope Tammy stablilized enough to bring her home soon.

Can't wait to hear all about the DC meet.

My MVMCP tickets :santa:came in the mail yesterday.........which makes it seem real & not so very far away. :cool1:

:wizard: & :grouphug: for everybody that needs them.

Off to lunch with my best friend & to buy something to wear out to dinner in Atlanta for our anniversary trip (going out to dinner with a good friend from high school & her hubby that we haven't seen since my 15 year reunion & that's been 6 years ago now). & I have to buy something new because nothing fits....... (thanks Weight Watchers).

Happy to hear you are all having a great time!

Yeah, I really only have problems in heat or cold. If I use scarf in the winter, I'm fine. The summer is the big problem...the hotter and more humid, the less I can do. The doctor just started my on Advair for just the summer to help so we'll see how that works. Previously, my regular inhalers hadn't done a whole lot to help so hopefully this time will do the trick.

Hey! have you been on advair before? I think it's an absolute miracle!!!! I hope it works for you :goodvibes

Marci and Vicki,

The kids LOVED their Texas and UP Michigan postcards. They also got 3 from my parents today (they are in Alaska on vacation). That's 9 in one day! They hit the jackpot!

Thank you both so much.

I'm so glad they enjoyed their postcards! My kids love to get mail addressed to them. Shirley from the Perfect Gift sent them postcards for our trip a couple of weeks ago, and they have them sitting on their nightstands.

Glynis -- you did a fabulous job on the birthday party! Thanks so much for posting the pictures -- the girls are all beautiful, and they are really enjoying themselves!

Needed: knowledgeable people on cats

Jessie came home on Friday from the vet. She had a plastic cast on. We put her in the laundry room because it's small. She has her large crate with a pad, a static pad on the outside and a litter box, plus food and water bowls. We left the door open so we could go check on her, but with a baby gate across the doorway. At night I put her in the crate so she wouldn't move around much. Yesterday I wake up and go check on her. She had taken off the large cast!!! We took her back to the vet, and he said we didn't need to put it back on -- she would just take it off again and he can't put it on any tighter because it will interrupt blood flow.

She is now trying to jump/climb. She got over the top of the baby gate, we think by reaching and pulling herself. So we have to keep the laundry room door shut now. She keeps pulling herself on top of the crate. I've been letting her stay out of the crate during the day because I feel sorry for her, but I think she is moving around a little too much. She can't move very quickly and she drags that leg she broke, plus she doesn't step down on it -- the pad of her foot it bent under the part she drags....

Has anyone had a cat break their leg before, and what did you do? Did you make they stay in the crate most of the time? How would you know when she needs to use the litter box?

Any help/advice is appreciated!!!

I'm so glad that you all are having a marvelous time!!! I think it's great that the feelings from the DDA are still there in person! Thanks for posting and letting us know that you all are having so much fun! I hope you thought about those of us that couldn't be there. I know that I, for one, was thinking about all of you today!
Of course we did!!

We hope that someday we ALL can get together - like on a CRUISE!!!!!

and yes Glynis - I think bringing DH's is a great idea!!!!!

Marci -

I don't know a thing about cats - but it reminds me of when my kids are sick and I can't get them to settle down

Julia was in the hospital with croop once and kept climbing out of the crib and running around the floor - which aggravated the strider -

the doctor told me - if she isn't being slowed down by it anymore - she can go home - when she overdoes it - her body will tell her

maybe that will happen with your cat - once she realizes it is hurting her - she will slow down - or maybe it isn't really bothering her

Marci, how old are your boys again and names? The kids would love to send them postcards too! What do they like (for post card images)? Sports, Disney, etc?

Paula,

SIL T and your entire family are in my prayers. It is just so terribly sad.
