Thomas has quite a wardrobe now so he was trying to decide what to wear.
He liked the skull cap DH had so I got him a bandana and tied it on his head.

I was thinking of printing these out and attaching them to the bags of cotton candy and popcorn at the party on Sat.

Sounds like something I need to try. I have a hard time dieting, I love my sweets to much :teeth: I don't like cooking different meals for everyone either & the rest of my family do not need to diet. So something like this might be good for me. My only worry would be after I lost the weight keeping it off. I guess I need to learn control

We picked it for convenience and the fact that if you really stick to it, you lose around 10 pounds per month. That meant we could drop 20-30 pounds and then go on maintenance faster.

I like the soy "chips". They taste like rice cakes which I like. The milk shake was blegh! John liked it, though! We were talking about ordering directly from Nutrisystem too once this month was over and we saw what we liked.

So far the cereal, oatmeal, and b'fast bars have been good. haven't had any bad lunch or dinner meals. I love the lunch chocolate bars. They are sinful! and the little chocolates for dessert are good.

We're figuring John will be on 2 months and me 3-4 depending on how fast it comes off.

What are your faves?

I also like the breakfast bars and lunch bars. I could eat those even when I am NOT on a diet! I like the ham and bean soup and the cheddar sweet potatoes for lunch and for dinner entrees I like the BBQ Beef and the pot roast, as well as the ravioli and the hamburger patties. I didn't ever get the chocolates for dessert when I ordered the Weekends Off through QVC! I only got them once I ordered directly from NutriSystem. I love them too. The savory soy chips I love (White Cheddar, BBQ and Nacho) but the sweet ones... blech...

They have a new tropical drink for lunch that I like too. It has a lot of soy in it and I make it with OJ instead of water and it fills me up and gives me my fruit for lunch, all at the same time!

Love the cake & your dgs is a cutie :goodvibes Kristin might be able to give you some suggestions on the blue dye :thumbsup2

Do you think overall nutrisystem is worth the cost....do you do it mostly for the convenience? We have only been dieting 2 weeks and I am sick of it!! Last night I was so hungry that I ate a Tums...and it tasted good!!! How sad is that?!

For me, Kristine, it is a godsend. My work schedule is not conducive to eating well, and my DH is not the best at fixing well balanced meals. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate that he has been willing to cook all these years when I don't get home until 9:30 p.m. or so. But I needed a personal chef to portion control everything and make certain I got the right foods too.

NutriSystem is probably 1/3 again the cost of what I would normally spend on food. When I think about the savings I will have, long term, as far as health issues and things like that, I find it to be very affordable.

But you all have to realize that my case is different than yours. Except in the summer, when Kristin is home from college, there are just two of us here to eat dinner. We don't like the same things and are perfectly capable of feeding ourselves, so I eat NutriSystem and Bob eats Hamburger Helper or Spam, or whatever he wants for dinner. You all have to cook for kids so that compounds the cost as well as the time involved for this plan.

I will not try to fool you that I don't get hungry. I do! But not as often as I first did and I also notice that when I am eating out I automatically portion control my own food. I cannot eat nearly as much as I used to either.

So, for me... this plan is perfect.

I was thinking the same thing. I guess I really should be doing other things anyway. I realized this afternoon that I haven't renewed my CPR for lifeguarding. It has to be done yearly. I didn't really look into it as I didn't think they needed me this year (they didn't last year). However, I'm the second lifeguard this year so I'm critical which means I'm off on a 2 hour drive one-way tomorrow to renew my certification. It is a good friend of mine through Girl Scouts and she is going to do it for me. I'm glad I can get it done but it sure changes my plans.
Vicki,
Safe travels to get your CPR up to date. I want to thank you for everything that you are doing for Girl Scouts and with camp. I know you don't get thanked enough for it. Thank you for taking time out of your schedule to get your CPR up to date so that they have you as a lifeguard. BTW: Would have they had enough lifeguards to run the water programming if you did not retake your CPR?

I took my First Aid and CPR class twice since last November. I still have yet to receive my cards for when I took it with Girl Scouts in November. Therefore I had to take it when I started at the Group Home, I could have paid to get reprints of my cards, that I never received. :confused3 Last year is was May till we received them. But since they were paying for it and paying me to be there I took it, plus I got my cards the day I took the class.

Dawn- I know that Red Cross certifies every year and American Heart Association is good for two years. But at my Group Home job no matter which certification you had CPR was only good for one year. They said it was the state regulation.

That is interesting that Nurses only have to renew their CPR every two years. Perhaps it varies from state to state. :confused3 I will have to ask some of my nurse friends in PA but Denise, Jennifer how often must CPR be renewed in your states for nurses? Thank you in advance.

Okay thanks to Kate pointing me to natioal for car rentals I have found a minivan to rent for 580.xx this is better then the 7xx.xx I had originally found.

Channon sent me an email this am that delta had changed our flight times leaving Austin at 12:25 getting to WDW after 5pm then leaving to come home at 6:55 pm stoping in atlanta then leaving their at 10:00pm getting to austin after 11pm. our original flight was leave orland around 7pm get to austin around 9:30 pm.

So I guess were driving.

Jennifer - have you considered flying Southwest? They fly direct from Austin to MCO, and just released their schedule through 12/10. I have no idea of the price per person since I don't know your dates, but maybe you could keep an eye out for a DING! fare through them. Just a thought.

Oh my, this brought back wonderful memories of Kristin's first birthday party! I made her a teddy bear cake holding balloons and each ballon was a different color. We gave her the little green balloon for her very own cake and she LOVED it. We eventually had to strip her down to her diaper because she had the green icing EVERYwhere. She was a platinum blond but had WitchHag hair for at least a week! :maleficen

I think it took three baths to get the icing out of her little toes and fingers! :goodvibes

Kristine - you crack me up! :rotfl:

:cheer2: :wizard: :grouphug: for all going the dieting route. I went for my yearly female check-up today, and was not happy with that # on the scale. Yuck - I need to get my tooshie in gear. I'd probably feel better, too.

The nurse also said my BP was a little higher than normal - as I told her - "do you think wanting to commit bodily harm to some of your co-workers might cause that?!?!?"

Paula - :grouphug: :wizard: for what you're going through. I think your plan sounds like a good one - it sounds like your MIL is more of a "don't rock the boat/let's see what happens" type of person, and you're someone that likes to get things done! I would think in this instance, it's time to take charge, as time is of the essence.

As Tammi said, what could possibly be worse than her continuing to not see her daughter?

And with that, I'm off to bed. See you guys after another sleep. Sweet dreams, everyone! :cloud9:

can I ask what the approx. cost is?

I keep thinking about trying one of these plans...just can't decide which is best. Plus factoring in 4 kids + a mother that I still need to cook overwhelms me.

How long have you been on the plan?

Here is the Nutrisystem website. Although I think that others might have gotten them from someplace else. QVC, homeshopping Network or something of that sort. I don't remember exactly.
