For me, Kristine, it is a godsend. My work schedule is not conducive to eating well, and my DH is not the best at fixing well balanced meals. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate that he has been willing to cook all these years when I don't get home until 9:30 p.m. or so. But I needed a personal chef to portion control everything and make certain I got the right foods too.
NutriSystem is probably 1/3 again the cost of what I would normally spend on food. When I think about the savings I will have, long term, as far as health issues and things like that, I find it to be very affordable.
But you all have to realize that my case is different than yours. Except in the summer, when Kristin is home from college, there are just two of us here to eat dinner. We don't like the same things and are perfectly capable of feeding ourselves, so I eat NutriSystem and Bob eats Hamburger Helper or Spam, or whatever he wants for dinner. You all have to cook for kids so that compounds the cost as well as the time involved for this plan.
I will not try to fool you that I don't get hungry. I do! But not as often as I first did and I also notice that when I am eating out I automatically portion control my own food. I cannot eat nearly as much as I used to either.
So, for me... this plan is perfect.
