:cool1: Once again I have a reason to thank you ladies, after reading about people's flights I decided to check on ours for November, sure enough they had changed our non-stop flight to one stopping in Atlanta. That wouldn't be so bad but we were already arriving at 7:40 pm and the new one had us arriving at 8:45 pm, much to late to do anything and with Magical Express who know when our luggage would get there. So I checked Delta's web site and there is another non-stop flight from here that day but it leaves much earlier. I called and was told that the computer rebooks those flights and picks the one leaving closest to your original flight she changed it for me and mow we will be arriving in time to catch the last Eat to the Beat Concert at Epcot.

Just hope they don't make any more changes!!

Thanks again,

Debbie

:cool1: :cool1: Awesome Debbie!

One more post and then I had better get my behind to work around this place. I had my regular check up with my lung doctor today and after nearly three years of being on the strongest Advair he thinks I'm doing well enough to attempt lowering my dosage, keep your fingers crossed for me. I'm going to try and not think about it be a lower dosage as I'm afraid my mind will play tricks on me if I do. It's been a rough road getting here at times but believe it or not I actually started doing better after Katrina, I had most of my really bad spells at work and I have not been there since the storm so I think there is definitely a connection there.

I picked up some sausage and new potatoes at the store on my way home and now I have them in the crock pot with green beans, I hope it comes out o.k. and my finicky husband likes it. I grew up with brothers who would eat anything that didn't bite them back ( and possibly some that would) so I get frustrated with my DH when he won't eat things.

Have a great day everyone,

Debbie

That's great news Debbie! So did you DH like his supper? I don't know how you manage with a picky eater. My DH will eat anything too. But my girlfriend's husbands are soo picky that it is a challenge to try to fix something when we all get together. I can't imagine doing it on a regular basis.

Bob and I are going shopping for his nephew tonight. He'll be one! Mom asked for some toys that will "get him moving" because he's walking with assistance now. (Which means that everyone will get something that get's him mobile!)
Here's some ideas that I'm looking at...
Laugh and Learn Puppy: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000284ZNI/102-8995113-8755305?v=glance
Something that makes noise: http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/602-7800951-1663848?_encoding=UTF8&frombrowse=1&asin=B000EQHJSG
I want this myself! http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/602-7800951-1663848?_encoding=UTF8&frombrowse=1&asin=B0007D7O22
I’m leaning towards this one the most: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0007WWZL8/102-8995113-8755305?v=glance
(Now I'm thinking it's too young for him...I really hate buying gifts for young'ns!)

And does anyone have any of these books or recommend one over the other?
The Carrot Seed
Swimmy
Very Hungry Caterpillar
Harold and the Purple Crayon

We love Eric Carle in our house. Molly's nursery was themed after the Very Hungry Catepillar. Emma was so into that book when I was pregnant and would read it to Molly over and over again. Another series of books that are really cute are the ones by Karen Katz. She has a ton of them. Here
is her website Karen Katz

Does he have the Laugh and Learn House? It is in the same line as the puppy. Molly got that her 1st Christmas and loves it. It is the one thing that gets played with every single day in this house. Emma loves playing with it as well.

I have to share this with all of you. I'm such a proud mom today!

Christopher had his final regular swim meet of the season this morning. He has been hoping to be picked for the relay team for weeks. He's a good swimmer for his age, but about a month ago he started coming up for breaths about every other stroke and it was slowing him down a bit. We've been working on it and I just told him to do his best at practice and maybe he would be picked.

When we got there this morning he was only signed up for the individual freestlye and not the relay. I was disappointed for him, but I didn't say anything. In a few minutes one of the Jr. Coaches had him by the hand and said mom he's going to do the relay.

When it was his turn to swim he flew to the other side of the pool! We were all standing there with our jaws on the floor. I've never seen him swim that fast and he didn't do the breaths every other stroke. His relay team took second place behind the other relay team from our club :cheer2:

When it was time for his individual freestyle he again flew down the pool and won a blue ribbon!!!!!!! He was swimming against good swimmers so I was really proud of him. It was a close race!

After the meet he went to his coach and thanked her for letting him be on the relay team. She told him she didn't "let" him, that he had improved so much that he earned a spot on the team! He was so proud and I was so proud for him!! She doesn't know how much she boosted his self esteem and confidence by saying that!

On a side note, and pretty funny: Christopher has blue (1st), red (2nd) and yellow (4th) ribbons. There are 3 other color ribbons that he doesn't have, and he wants one of every color. The lady handing out the ribbons for the relay thought his team took 3rd so she handed him a white ribbon. When she realized her mistake and gave him a red ribbon, he didn't want to trade :rotfl: . Isn't it great that at that age it's still not all about winning?

:jumping3: :jumping3: Way to Go Christopher!! :jumping3: :jumping3:

I was there the middle of Jan. this year. Not sure if the 1st week is much different, but it did get cold at night. Most of the time we wore pants with long sleeve shirts during the day & at night wore a jacket as well. We did have 2 days where we were able to wear shorts :sunny:

Here's an early question: what is the weather usually like there in early January? What will I need to pack? Is it warm enough for capris? Do I need heavy sweaters, jackets, etc?

last... my other SIL A (the sick one is SIL T) and I have been contacting the newspaper and news station today about this. I hope one of them put this on the news..

"Mother with 2 months or less to life denied visitiation with less than two year old daughter."

I so don't like the girls father or the judge who said no, not going to happen.

I hope this does make it on the news! That is just unbelievable that they would do that. You and your family will be in my prayers. :grouphug:

Well, if it were me, and I could avoid MY in-laws, I would go!!!! However, my MIL is crazy, and Alan would totally agree with me!
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Seriously, though, you have to do whatever is best for your family! Go with your gut feeling and you won't go wrong!

Glynis, We will need to compare MIL stories as I am sure that my MIL will win this hands down. There is no one on earth like her!!

Happy Hump Day, DDA! :goodvibes

I hope everyone is having a good day - I've been reading along where I can, but work is stressing me out! I will be very glad when this weeend is over, as it means I will have survived one of my final "big" events of our summer intern program - we put on a "Battle of the Bands" for 300 of our closest friends. :faint: I still have 5 1/2 weeks to go, but there is at least a glimmer of a light at the end of the tunnel!

Sorry if I forget anyone - I'm going off of memory here!

Robyn - :wizard: on your decision to move to MI.

That's all I can remember for now! Miss you guys and getting to hang out more regularly - I second all the comments yesterday (or was it today?) about how incredible the bonds are that we have just from this board.

And I think a DDA cruise would be awesome!!! Could you imagine the t-shirts?!?!?!? :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl: :lmao: They woudn't know what hit 'em!

Thanks, Lindsay! I am very excited about it.

Here's some :wizard: to get you through the rest of the summer! It's good seeing your typeface around here.
