Gosh - isn't it awful?!?!? I've lived in Texas my whole life, so it's not like it should be a surprise by now, but still...

We still need to try to get together for lunch sometime sooner, rather than later!

Glynis - :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :cheer2: :Pinkbounc on making your January travel arrangements!!! You will have such an excellent time - and I'm sure all it will take is Alan setting foot on WDW property to realize that it can't all be done in 1,2,3,4 - nothing less than a week, in my opinion! Remember, I owe you for helping me with DL - I would love to return the favor! :goodvibes

I'm sure that I will be taking you up on it!!!! I'm still trying to wrap my head around the news that I am actually going to be in WDW in January!!!!

Here's an early question: what is the weather usually like there in early January? What will I need to pack? Is it warm enough for capris? Do I need heavy sweaters, jackets, etc?

The weather can vary that time of year. I was there in late January of this year, and during the day, I was borderline too warm in a short sleeve shirt and jeans during the day, but then needed those same jeans and a fleece at night. (And this is from a girl from Texas - I don't have the thickest blood!) I think the key is layers!!!

Bob and I are going shopping for his nephew tonight. He'll be one! Mom asked for some toys that will "get him moving" because he's walking with assistance now. (Which means that everyone will get something that get's him mobile!)
Here's some ideas that I'm looking at...
Laugh and Learn Puppy: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000284ZNI/102-8995113-8755305?v=glance
Something that makes noise: http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/602-7800951-1663848?_encoding=UTF8&frombrowse=1&asin=B000EQHJSG
I want this myself! http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/602-7800951-1663848?_encoding=UTF8&frombrowse=1&asin=B0007D7O22
I’m leaning towards this one the most: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0007WWZL8/102-8995113-8755305?v=glance
(Now I'm thinking it's too young for him...I really hate buying gifts for young'ns!)

And does anyone have any of these books or recommend one over the other?
The Carrot Seed
Swimmy
Very Hungry Caterpillar
Harold and the Purple Crayon

Love the puppy! Also, we got Terra a lot of Little People things for her 1st birthday and she has played with them ever since. As for books Terra has always loved Very Hungry Caterpillar and all of Eric Carle's books. Also, another favorite from about 1yo on was Chicka, Chicka! Boom, Boom! Harold and the Purple Crayon is good, but probably better in a year or so.

My opinion on the mobile toys is to make sure it will be useful after he is walking more as well. Both Terra and my sister only used their walking things for a month or two before discarding them for unassisted walking. Since Terra's was also a scooter she rode on it for awhile. However her push one was left behind.

I think they say that because I want to put Bethie in the private preschool like Ellie and w/o more money then I can't do that. I thought I found a way to have my cake and eat it too. I want the girls to only go 1/2 days (like Ellie does now) thenwe have 1/2 a day to be together. So this notary deal was a great start and I hope it works out untill the girls go to school all day (1st grade), then I can expand to other things. And if I do well enough I could have more time at Disney also.
I haven't told DH what she said yet, I think I will wait until I find out the results of the test and he wants me to tell her about how I took the test. I know I know.... I am not always a smart gal, but hey, (ok I have nothing else). :)
Paula, Those are awesome. I do understand the whole wanting to enjoy what you are doing. I have been watching friends/family kids for 6 years now. It has become such a grind. Don't get me wrong, I love the kids, it's dealing with the parents that makes me crazy! And these are people I know. So I started selling Tastefully Simple and while I love the product there is a lot of work involved and it is hard to keep up with a bunch of noisy kids running around my house. So the kids it is but unfortunately its more of a way for us to make ends meet but also getting to stay at home too. Although if I could stay at home with just my girls it would be much easier.
I guess what I am trying to say is I am in a similar boat and wish I had some answers for you. I am sure it will work out.

The news on Jessie is bittersweet. She seems to be stable and is sedated for pain. She only has one break, but it's in a very bad area so the word lame came up. At that point I think I panicked. They are letting her "chill", as they put it and rehydrating her, since she layed in the yard for a while before I heard her (and we had 105 heat index today). They are going to set it and splint it in the morning and see how she does. There isn't enough bone left by the break (part of it was shaved off) to pin it.

She will have to be an indoor cat for the next 6 - 8 weeks, if not for the rest of her life. I asked if she would ever be able to walk, and they said they hope she will. This is about to bring major changes to my family. I've never had an indoor cat, as I'm terribly allergic (and I think both boys are as well) and my DH and I both work full time out of the house, although I occasionally work from home. I guess I'm going to work from home for a few days, take my mom up on her offer to help, and possibly take Jessie to work with me.

Even though I know it was an accident, I'm having a hard time with it.

Thanks, everyone, for your good thoughts and prayers. It means a lot!
Marci, I am sorry that this happened. Here's some pixiedust: for Jessie that she heals fast and is able to walk again. And some pixiedust: for you and your family as you deal with the changes.
