:cool1: Once again I have a reason to thank you ladies, after reading about people's flights I decided to check on ours for November, sure enough they had changed our non-stop flight to one stopping in Atlanta. That wouldn't be so bad but we were already arriving at 7:40 pm and the new one had us arriving at 8:45 pm, much to late to do anything and with Magical Express who know when our luggage would get there. So I checked Delta's web site and there is another non-stop flight from here that day but it leaves much earlier. I called and was told that the computer rebooks those flights and picks the one leaving closest to your original flight she changed it for me and mow we will be arriving in time to catch the last Eat to the Beat Concert at Epcot.

Just hope they don't make any more changes!!

Thanks again,

Debbie

Glad that worked out well for you!!! :cheer2:

One more post and then I had better get my behind to work around this place. I had my regular check up with my lung doctor today and after nearly three years of being on the strongest Advair he thinks I'm doing well enough to attempt lowering my dosage, keep your fingers crossed for me. I'm going to try and not think about it be a lower dosage as I'm afraid my mind will play tricks on me if I do. It's been a rough road getting here at times but believe it or not I actually started doing better after Katrina, I had most of my really bad spells at work and I have not been there since the storm so I think there is definitely a connection there.

I picked up some sausage and new potatoes at the store on my way home and now I have them in the crock pot with green beans, I hope it comes out o.k. and my finicky husband likes it. I grew up with brothers who would eat anything that didn't bite them back ( and possibly some that would) so I get frustrated with my DH when he won't eat things.

Have a great day everyone,

Debbie

That is good news! I hope your dh likes dinner. Mine is pretty easy to please, but don't ask about the kids!

Beth

Bob and I are going shopping for his nephew tonight. He'll be one! Mom asked for some toys that will "get him moving" because he's walking with assistance now. (Which means that everyone will get something that get's him mobile!)
Here's some ideas that I'm looking at...
Laugh and Learn Puppy: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000284ZNI/102-8995113-8755305?v=glance
Something that makes noise: http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/602-7800951-1663848?_encoding=UTF8&frombrowse=1&asin=B000EQHJSG
I want this myself! http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/602-7800951-1663848?_encoding=UTF8&frombrowse=1&asin=B0007D7O22
I’m leaning towards this one the most: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0007WWZL8/102-8995113-8755305?v=glance
(Now I'm thinking it's too young for him...I really hate buying gifts for young'ns!)

And does anyone have any of these books or recommend one over the other?
The Carrot Seed
Swimmy
Very Hungry Caterpillar
Harold and the Purple Crayon

I am so glad you are splurging on the Disney Cruise......I am so jealous. I keep saying out next cruise will be on Disney. I just need to go ahead and plan it for 1+yr out and start paying for it.

Lynn
Lynn,

I can't remember if I posted to you saying I'm glad your family issues were worked out. If I didn't, I meant to! How is your brother doing?

I plan for our next "big" vacation to be a Disney cruise. I just can't decide how old I want the baby to be. I know I don't want her to be an infant. I'm thinking maybe 3-4. Surely someone here will have some advice.

We're going to start saving up after our trip in February. We'll need that long to afford it :teeth:

Good morning everyone. :hyper:

Kate :cheer2:

Glynis, want John to talk to Alan?
After our very 1st trip John said we could go again but stay less days as he just didn't think there was all that much to see and do. Well after coming home and joining the DIS, he decided that we would go again and stay even longer than the first time. :teeth:

That's what I'm hoping will happen. Truly, once we are in Disney, Alan goes nuts and enjoys himself fully! I just don't think he's got a clue what WDW is all about!

Not to upset anyone going to DC, but please be careful.

Below was copied from the CB.

Crime Emergency Declared in Washington, DC

Due to a sharp increase in crime, the Washington, DC Chief of Police has declared a crime emergency. There have been several recent armed robberies on the National Mall, including two last night. On the Mall, entire families have been robbed at gunpoint and one of last night's robberies also included a sexual assault. Additionally, there have been four armed robberies in the vicinity of the Fort Totten Metro station since last Thursday and a horrific murder and attempted sexual assault in Georgetown.

If you visit Washington, please use common sense and caution when traveling. Do not assume that because you are in a large family unit near tourist attractions or government buildings that you are safe. Walk on streets that are heavily trafficked and well-lit. Be aware of your surroundings.

I am not trying to frighten anyone away from Washington. It's a great city and I love living here. I am simply making visitors aware of an unfortunate situation and hoping that they keep safe.
This may be news to the rest of the world, but it is an everyday occurence for those of us that live here. It's really nothing new. :teeth:

I have to share this with all of you. I'm such a proud mom today!

Christopher had his final regular swim meet of the season this morning. He has been hoping to be picked for the relay team for weeks. He's a good swimmer for his age, but about a month ago he started coming up for breaths about every other stroke and it was slowing him down a bit. We've been working on it and I just told him to do his best at practice and maybe he would be picked.

When we got there this morning he was only signed up for the individual freestlye and not the relay. I was disappointed for him, but I didn't say anything. In a few minutes one of the Jr. Coaches had him by the hand and said mom he's going to do the relay.

When it was his turn to swim he flew to the other side of the pool! We were all standing there with our jaws on the floor. I've never seen him swim that fast and he didn't do the breaths every other stroke. His relay team took second place behind the other relay team from our club :cheer2:

When it was time for his individual freestyle he again flew down the pool and won a blue ribbon!!!!!!! He was swimming against good swimmers so I was really proud of him. It was a close race!

After the meet he went to his coach and thanked her for letting him be on the relay team. She told him she didn't "let" him, that he had improved so much that he earned a spot on the team! He was so proud and I was so proud for him!! She doesn't know how much she boosted his self esteem and confidence by saying that!

On a side note, and pretty funny: Christopher has blue (1st), red (2nd) and yellow (4th) ribbons. There are 3 other color ribbons that he doesn't have, and he wants one of every color. The lady handing out the ribbons for the relay thought his team took 3rd so she handed him a white ribbon. When she realized her mistake and gave him a red ribbon, he didn't want to trade :rotfl: . Isn't it great that at that age it's still not all about winning?

Dilemma. Taking the kids out of school this fall for WDW (school system frowns upon it, but it got approved because of Rees). Booked Thanksgiving cruise next year, and the kids would only miss 2 days (and it's the holiday week so not a big deal- they can be "sick"). But, if we book the cruise the following week we save $1800 but the kids miss 5 days of a regular week.

I say pay the money and go over Thanksgiving. I don't want to keep pushing it with the schools. And we avoid my in-laws. WWYD?

Well, if it were me, and I could avoid MY in-laws, I would go!!!! However, my MIL is crazy, and Alan would totally agree with me!
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Seriously, though, you have to do whatever is best for your family! Go with your gut feeling and you won't go wrong!
