Thanks again for the welcomes!!

triplefigs--your cruise sounds great! We did one in June 2005, and I loved it!! I hope your son liked the tooth fairy!!

glynis--my DH thought before our 1st trip that we'd "go to other places, too". After taking this past vacation (our 4th WDW trip), he decided we needed DVC since we obviously will NOT be going other places! :rotfl2:

bengalbelle--that's so terrific for your son!! Congratulations to him!! My little brother (now 25) played baseball from age 4 to college, and the best times were when they were small and loved the trophies (the participation ones) and didn't care about winning. That's such a great story!!!

julia & nick's mom--I read your email from/to the reporter! That's great that you got him to change his story! I think a lot of people get Disney misinformation through stuff like that. . .if only they could be DIS addicts like us!!!

yellowfish78--I know some people already responded, but I just wanted to echo the fact that The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Harold & the Purple Crayon are both excellent books!!!

I read in an earlier post someone's suggestion that Paula put her embroidery into a business!! That's a great idea!! You know people like my crazy Pal Mickey self would be all over that!

One more post and then I had better get my behind to work around this place. I had my regular check up with my lung doctor today and after nearly three years of being on the strongest Advair he thinks I'm doing well enough to attempt lowering my dosage, keep your fingers crossed for me. I'm going to try and not think about it be a lower dosage as I'm afraid my mind will play tricks on me if I do. It's been a rough road getting here at times but believe it or not I actually started doing better after Katrina, I had most of my really bad spells at work and I have not been there since the storm so I think there is definitely a connection there.

I picked up some sausage and new potatoes at the store on my way home and now I have them in the crock pot with green beans, I hope it comes out o.k. and my finicky husband likes it. I grew up with brothers who would eat anything that didn't bite them back ( and possibly some that would) so I get frustrated with my DH when he won't eat things.

Have a great day everyone,

Debbie

:wizard:

Let me know how your dinner turns out, and if it was a hit.

WAY TO GO CHRISTOPHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Dawn - I would wait until she is at least 3!!! That's what we are doing with Nick

then they can go in the club whenever they want!! I hear it is hard to get into the babysitting one sometimes!!! I love that my kids will be able to come and go from the club whenever they want instead of when I was able to get a slot!!

I would be the corrupted Pal Mickey woman in question!!! :rotfl2: My DH first sort of rolled his eyes, but now even he has attire ideas for Pal Mickey. I told him that first Mickey needed a name! See, the obsession grows!!

Thanks, you all, for having such a great board and thread! It's terrific!

Welcome to our craziness! Hopefully, you'll stick around so that we can get to know you. Anyone who loves Pal Mickey like you seem to do is definitely one of us!!!

Pacifier:

1st baby: If the pacifier falls on the floor, you put it away until you can go home and wash and boil it.
2nd baby: When the pacifier falls on the floor, you squirt it off with some juice from the baby's bottle.
3rd baby: You wipe it off on your shirt and pop it back in.

What about sucking the dirt off in your own mouth and then popping it back in baby's?? :thumbsup2

I have to share this with all of you. I'm such a proud mom today!

Christopher had his final regular swim meet of the season this morning. He has been hoping to be picked for the relay team for weeks. He's a good swimmer for his age, but about a month ago he started coming up for breaths about every other stroke and it was slowing him down a bit. We've been working on it and I just told him to do his best at practice and maybe he would be picked.

When we got there this morning he was only signed up for the individual freestlye and not the relay. I was disappointed for him, but I didn't say anything. In a few minutes one of the Jr. Coaches had him by the hand and said mom he's going to do the relay.

When it was his turn to swim he flew to the other side of the pool! We were all standing there with our jaws on the floor. I've never seen him swim that fast and he didn't do the breaths every other stroke. His relay team took second place behind the other relay team from our club :cheer2:

When it was time for his individual freestyle he again flew down the pool and won a blue ribbon!!!!!!! He was swimming against good swimmers so I was really proud of him. It was a close race!

After the meet he went to his coach and thanked her for letting him be on the relay team. She told him she didn't "let" him, that he had improved so much that he earned a spot on the team! He was so proud and I was so proud for him!! She doesn't know how much she boosted his self esteem and confidence by saying that!

On a side note, and pretty funny: Christopher has blue (1st), red (2nd) and yellow (4th) ribbons. There are 3 other color ribbons that he doesn't have, and he wants one of every color. The lady handing out the ribbons for the relay thought his team took 3rd so she handed him a white ribbon. When she realized her mistake and gave him a red ribbon, he didn't want to trade :rotfl: . Isn't it great that at that age it's still not all about winning?
:cheer2: :cheer2: Way to go, Christopher!!!!

Seriously, I hate myself in pictures. Just ask Steffy and Terry about the crazy woman that hunted them down in LTT last September :)

:lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

You didn't sound like a hair 80 yr od man on the phone, but hey what do I know.

Bob and I are going shopping for his nephew tonight. He'll be one! Mom asked for some toys that will "get him moving" because he's walking with assistance now. (Which means that everyone will get something that get's him mobile!)
Here's some ideas that I'm looking at...
Laugh and Learn Puppy: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000284ZNI/102-8995113-8755305?v=glance
Something that makes noise: http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/602-7800951-1663848?_encoding=UTF8&frombrowse=1&asin=B000EQHJSG
I want this myself! http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/602-7800951-1663848?_encoding=UTF8&frombrowse=1&asin=B0007D7O22
I’m leaning towards this one the most: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0007WWZL8/102-8995113-8755305?v=glance
(Now I'm thinking it's too young for him...I really hate buying gifts for young'ns!)

And does anyone have any of these books or recommend one over the other?
The Carrot Seed
Swimmy
Very Hungry Caterpillar
Harold and the Purple Crayon

I love all the books you mentioned except Swimmy. I've never read that one. My kids all loved the Carrot Seed, and the Very Hungry Caterpillar.
