Prayers for Lynn and her family!!

Welcome back out of the woodwork!! Hope you all stay around and post!!

Home from the party. Had 30 kids painting pottery and nothing got broken! Amazing. Kids had a lot of fun. I'll try to get pics up later.

Marti called me to find out about Amy (they are out of town for her dad's birthday). She asked me to post congrats to Amy, Kevin, and Alyssa and let them know how happy they all were for them.

What is IPO?

Itinerary Planning Office - it's a centralized office for all those guests staying concierge at Disney. They're the ones you call before your trip to get all your ADR's, tours, special events, etc. set up. Once you're on property, you're handed off to the concierge staff at the specific hotel.

I leave you guys alone for 1 night & I have tons of pages to read to catch up!!!
Got to see Pirates last night..no spoilers here, just IMO it was not anywhere as good as the first. Not enough witty lines by Captain Jack for me. pirate:
The special effects were very good. There were some scenes reminiscient of the ride (I guess cross marketing) I noticed it but my girlfriend had no idea (she has never been to Disney :scared1: ) They did alittle preview of Expedition Everest before the movie, I was so excited..my friend had no idea what it was..I am so amazed by people who have no idea about Disney..seems foreign to me..anyway, go see the movie but don't expect the magic of the first.

I guess I am so obsessed by Disney (ya think?) My order of obsession is
#1 Disney World - Vacation & planning
#2 same as #1
#3 same as #2 :joker:

We went to the cheesecake factory after for dinner & didn't get home until 2am. :faint: My bedtime is usually 11 or so..I got up with the kids & now I am pooped but I had to come on & catch up because I was thinking about Amy last night.

Thanks for the POTC update, Anne Marie. I have to wait until Tuesday to see it - we're actually taking a huge group from my firm to see it (with dinner beforehand) - might as well wait and let them pay for my ticket! :thumbsup2

It's funny - all the national reviews I have seen have raved about it, but then the local reviewer in the Dallas Morning News gave it a B-, and said it can't compare to the first, and that it's almost too cluttered with special effects and not too much story. Guess we'll have to see! I haven't seen the first in a while - may have to break it out this weekend.

Vicki, Thanks for the shirt and name card for Rees' PM. The kids got home late last night. I just showed it to him, and he was so excited. Their birthday party is at 2pm today and John's family is all coming in today, so I'll be back tomorrow or Monday to post and show pics from the beach and party. Hugs and hi to all the DDA!

Hope they have an awesome b-day party! I'm sure you're glad to have them home.

Thanks for the offer. I just have to spend some time with her to make sure she knows she has our support in whatever path she takes. She is struggling with what to do with her life. So many people her age have a direction and she just doesn't yet. I was the same way so totally understand but she is stressing over it. Plus, she doesn't have the best set of friends. People tend to take advantage of her - I had the same thing at her age! Of course, knowing that she is like mom doesn't help!

:wizard: :grouphug: for Katrina. I think everyone goes through this at one time or another. I feel like I'm getting to an impasse with my job - it's not something I could continue doing if I have a family because of the time commitment, and it isn't something terribly fulfilling, either. But, what to do? If the darn mortgage didn't need to be paid, I feel like I might have a better chance to find out!

I'm sure your support, more than anything you actually say, is the best thing for her.

Ummmmm. NO!!!!!

Hi Gang.

I found a computer terminal in the waiting room here in the mommy-baby unit. Haven't had a chance to really read everything but this one kind of stood out. The Doctor kept making references to the next one last night as well. Not going to happen.

Anyway, everybody is doing great. It looks like we will all be leaving the hospital by midnight tonight. Amy, Alyssa, Matthew and I thank you for all the good wishes.

I'm sure Amy will update later. And of course there are lots of pictures we will send along. Talk again soon.

Congrats again!!!!

And I hope if they're actually sending you home today (yikes!) that they have the decency to do it before midnight!!

I just got an email from Lynn. She said she really needs prayers for her family. She did not give me any specifics, but did say there was MAJOR turmoil in her immediate family and that's why she hasn't posted lately.

She also wanted me to pass on congrats to Amy and Kevin.

:wizard: :grouphug: pixiedust: :tinker: to Lynn and her family. Let us know if there is anything we can do!

I know what I want to do. It is getting the grants and financials together in order to do my dream that is the problem. I want to run a year long camp probably in Florida or somewhere where it is warm year round for all kids and maybe even there families.

There are camps out there for kids with diabetes, asthma, diabetes, foster, regular kids, etc. But none that allow all of them to go to camp together. I want it to be handicapped accessible, have a great medical facility, etc. So that the kids can have their issues taken care of. I want it to be free or low cost.

I know, I don't set lofty goals for myself. :teeth: I know I can do it, it will just take years until it will be a reality. I have to start small with just running a one day, day or weekend camp seesion and slowly work my way up to what I want.

For now I just want to work for a nonprofit organization doing event planning, fundraising, volunteer coordinator or something along those lines. I would love to work for Disney doing planning events or something for there VoluntEARS. Than I would have the best of two worlds.

Flat out I want to help others and make the world a better place for all. :) How I exactly up on doing this I am not sure yet.

That sounds awesome, Becky! I hope things begin to fall into place so you can realize your dreams. It sounds like all you need is the financial means to do so - your creativity and work ethic are already proven!

I let Miles (7) watch it with us the other day (over protests from the others that they weren't allowed to watch PG-13 movies at that age). I checked it out first, and he really does have a firm grasp on reality vs. fantasy.

Beth
Have you seen POTC:DMC yet? It's definitely much scarier. NO WAY will I be letting Christopher watch this one for many years. I don't think he'll have to be 13, but he'll have to be much older than he is now.

ETA: I'm not saying anyone with a child under 13 shouldn't let their kids see it, I'm just saying it's not right for my child :) .
