Kate, I have some info. too if you want it.

Kristine, I might PM you to discuss the info you have and see if you have anything different than me.

Just taking a break from my carpet cleaning. I thought maybe there would be some pictures up by now. I've got one more room to do, then it's off to the grocery store.

The nerve of them not have posted pictures for us yet!!!! Like they have anything better to do!!! ;)

Kristine and Dawn -

I would love the info!! If I could start a good diet now - I think I would feel better by my surgery!!!

Kate,

Thinking of you and Nick tomorrow for his echo. Hang in there.

I got Nick cars fabric at hobby lobby yesterday to make him curtains and some throw pillows - they had a panel fabric but someone had called and put the WHOLE bolt on hold

She told me if he doesn't come by tomorrow morning - I can have one - I went and looked it up on ebay and the panel that would cost me $5 is selling for $25 - I think if he didn't pick it up - I am buying the whole bolt!! I could make some extra money for DL!!!!!

you can see where the rod goes through -

I sewed right sides together of the fabric and the liner - leaving the space where the rods would be -
then I flipped them and sewed straight across as wide as I needed it to be for the rod -
I had sewn a seem down the side of the fabric so that it is not an exposed edge
so the rod goes between the front and the back edges

does that make sense?!?!

Vicki

"the box" came yesterday!!

Julia was SO excited and immediately knew it was from you!! They had a blast making their hats!!!

Hey everyone-
I ended up finally going to the hospital to see Alex today--He looked so good!! he was completely awake and even had baseball turned on the tv in his room. When we walked in, he took our hands right away. Dad said "i brought jen the other day and you were sleeping"--he mouthed "sorry"--I went over to hold his hand and he smiled an ACTUAL SMILE! His swelling is going down and he seems to be improving every time i see him. I overheard a relative saying that they may try to remove the tube from his trachea in the next week or so..WHen that happens, he will be able to talk to communicate! I cannot wait to see this!

Thanks so much for the prayers, thoughts, and PMs about Alex..He is a fighter and is continuing to amaze us every day!

Jen -- that is great news! Thanks for keeping us updated!

Hello EVERYONE! :wave2: Thanks for all the Hello's out there!

Life has been hectic. I have been back to work, and working overtime almost every week since. Whew! I do try to get on here and see what everyone has been up to every now and then.

Glynis, your birthday party sounds like it will be so much fun! Leighanna loves icecream, so I might have to remember that idea for when she is a little older.

I will try to post a little more often. :thumbsup2

I have to try to plan our next vacation to the World.

I have always wanted to go to Disneyland too, so I might have to ask some of you experts lots of questions on that too.

Hi, Tom. :wave2: Post another picture of Princess Leighanna when you get a chance.

My neighbor forwarded this to me and I thought it was cute...

A married couple in their early 60's were out celebrating their 35th
wedding anniversary in a quiet, romantic little restaurant.

Suddenly, a tiny yet beautiful fairy appeared on their table and said,
"For being such an exemplary married couple and for being faithful to
Each other for all this time, I will grant you each a wish."

"Oh, I want to travel around the world with my darling husband," said
the wife.

The fairy waved her magic wand and - poof! - two tickets for the Queen
Mary II luxury liner appeared in her hands.

Then it was the husband's turn.

He thought for a moment and said: "Well, this is all very romantic,
but an opportunity like this will never come again. I'm sorry my love, but
my wish is to have a wife 30 years younger than me."

The wife and the fairy were deeply disappointed, but a wish is a
wish...

So the fairy waved her magic wand and - poof! - the husband became 92
years old.

The moral of the story:

Men who are ungrateful should remember that fairies are
female.

I read Kingdom Keepers just before Memory Keeper's Daughter. I had put them on hold at the library and they both came in at once. Kingdom Keepers is a very quick read. For the moment I don't have a book! I'm not sure that has happened before. I am trying to get a lot done around the house, because I am tired of living in chaos. I did locate our copy of Peter and the Starcatchers to start later.

As a matter of fact...I need to get back to cleaning now.

Beth

I know the feeling. I'm giving myself a break, though, since I just cleaned the house for book club and Katie's birthday. It looks good and only takes about 15 minutes to tidy it up. So, I don't feel too guilty about reading some.

If you need some book recommendations, I'd be happy to pass some along. Our book club has read some really wonderful books in the last couple of years, and there are several that I would recommend!

It does, but the part I'm having trouble with is if I sew right sides together but leave the opening for the rod, how am I not going to have raw edges in the opening? I would think I'd have to turn the fabric in and stitch it, then turn the lining in and stitch that so the edge is not exposed.

I've made panels before but they had curtain rings or they were pinch pleat. This is my first time sewing the rod pocket.

Thanks for the picture of your valance (which looks great, btw), but I still want to see the Cars bedroom when you're finished!

Kate - it's perfectly understandable that you are anxious about this test! This is your baby we're talking about! I don't think there's anyone here that doesn't understand how you are feeling.

Please know that we are praying for you! My family has included you and Nick in our family prayers as well. If you need anything, please let us know! If you want to come here tonight to scream, cry, vent, anything please do it!

On Friday when I was checking at work to see if we heard news on Matthew at work, one of my team asked how we were going to find out. I told her that Amy was calling one of the DDA so that they could post. She couldn't believe it!!!!! She practically fell off her floor laughing.

They look great!!!! I'm glad they enjoyed it. It sure didn't take long to get there. My nieces and nephews all enjoyed making them as well. My aunt used to do things like that for my kids when they were little. They enjoyed getting things from her but especially when it was activities they could do. I had forgotten about it until I started hanging with the DDA.
