I am so sorry I wasn't still on when you came on. Know that your SIL has been in my prayers.

Ok gals, I need your input. This baby shower I am working on is becoming a major headache. My girlfriend that is helping me wants to change the location as right now it is outside at my aunt's house. She has this great backyard for parties. So because it is hot out (Hello it's JULY), my friend thinks we should have at the community room of her grandma's apt building. The room is free and we have it reserved. Why didn't she offer it when we were planning the shower? I talked to the girl we are having the shower for, she knows about the shower just not the theme, and she said she really didn't care. I think it is going to be a pain to get in contact with some of them as I mainly have email addresses and I can't guarantee that they will check them daily. So what do you all think? Keep it or Change it
When is the shower? Speaking as a pregnant lady I would opt for inside if at all possible. I will start feeling ill outside in as little as 30 minutes, depending on the heat and humidity and amount of shade. I'd keep the community room as a backup while I tried to reach everyone. Maybe the mom to be can give you some phone numbers.

On the way home Saturday we were talking DIS and I said I had a lame tag and no one noticed......of all the witty things I say :teeth: the tag fairy picked this one!!
I noticed it! I read the thread that you got it from. Several days later we went to the movies and my popcorn was cold and salty. I thought of you and your tag because I was salivating and disappointed.

That was Terra! I bought her 2Ts not long after her 1st birthday. Even now she is 3 and wearing 5Ts. My 4yo niece wears 4T and my just turning 2yo nephew wears 12-18mo! He's so tiny, but it's so dang cute. Great pics of the party. He's a cutie!
Emma will be 7 in Nov and wears a 10/12. Thankfully she is tall so that helps alot!!

I feel so alone and unhelpful right now because I am at home with the girls, DH and all the rest of the family are with SIL T at my MIL house. DH has gone to get the Priest for SIL T last rights. I have made the calls DH asked me to and along with that I ask for you to say a prayer for her one last time.
Thank you all so very much for helping me during this time.
Paula-

I have been thinking about and praying for your whole family and for peace for your SIL!

Good morning all! "They" are promising just one more day of scorching and I plan to home them accountable for that (assuming I can figure out who "they" are ;) ). Of course, it's also supposed to break with a major storm this afternoon so I am a little afraid of a repeat of last week. Anyone else get that MAJOR storm that blew through MA and surrounding areas? Well, I got caught in it on the way home from work so was waiting for the bus in the big, open, outdoor train station with gale force winds whipping the rain at me and lightening on all four sides of me. A little scary as the strikes on one side were coming in tandem with the thunder.

Hope everyone else starts cooling off some as well!!

"They" are saying it is supposed to cool down tomorrow to about 91/92. We had a storm last week that lasted for I swear 8 hours or more, I finally gave up and went to bed.

My 10 yo is in juniors/misses sizes or the 1/2 sizes they carry at JcPenney. Cassidy is also misses or the upper end of the 1/2 sizes they carry at JcPenney. Neither one is all that big but clothes are made for size 0's I think!!

I doubt this is the case for you, but it reminded me of a problem I had when my youngest was in Middle School. During the last lunch period of the day, they would bring out all of the leftover food that hadn't sold and give it away to the kids. Now my older DS wouldn't eat if he wasn't hungry, but my younger DS Scott has always loved to eat, so when they brought out the extra food, he would always eat it, even after he had eaten a full lunch. And I think that is why he put on extra weight the year he had the last lunch period.

That seems like a crazy thing to do as it would ruin a lot of dinner appetites.

That was our day at the beach I think...that water was cold and I ended up with a rash everywhere and my girls are covered in bites but that didn't stop Abi from begging to go to the beach yesterday morning.....we just couldn't get it worked out!! :guilty:

The shower is this Sunday, the 23rd. And the mom of the pg friend, Dana, is MIA. She has not responded to any of my emails, I don't have her phone # and I'd like to keep it like that, and the last time I heard from her was a week and half before I went on vacation. She is a few cards short of a full deck and apparently had a spat with Dana while Dana was on vacation. This is not uncommon. But I certainly don't want to call Dana and say hey I don't think your mom is going to show up as I haven't heard from her.

The backyard is pretty shaded and if need be we can go inside.

Hi Ellen!!

What great pictures!! You must be so proud!!!

I can't run the half marathon b/c of my knee but I will be there!! glynis will too - and I think Jennifer - so we will have to try to plan a DIS meet!!!!

Robyn -

I think that once the invites have gone out - changing the location is never a good idea - you run the risk of someone not getting the message -

I would leave it!
