The DDA Trouble Free Zone Part 10

Hope you all are doing well! I just wanted to let you know that I am reading along and thinking of you!

Quick update, since hanging out the computer is the last thing I should be doing right now.

Kevin got a guilty verdict in his trial but he still has plenty to do with the penalty phase this week, so he's still encouraging Matthew to stay put.

We closed on our old house this past Friday night!

Alyssa still hates swimming lessons, and since she got an ear infection, we ended up skipping quite a few classes last week. Her last session is Wednesday.

Julie and Dave are the best movers and packers (except when it comes to children's shoes).

Slowly, but surely, we are unpacking. I underestimated the cleanliness of the new house, so I'm spending a lot of time cleaning out cabinets and drawers and walls and floors, but it's all coming together.

Most of our baby stuff is still in our rented storage unit. I am encouraging Kevin, hourly, that we have to get this stuff out ASAP!

I am still 2-3 cm. dialated, so unless he changes his mind, Matthew will join us on Friday. My induction is scheduled to start at 7 a.m.

My sister is visiting us through the holiday and my mom is coming down Thursday night to stay through the end of next week.

I'm really, really sorry I can't get caught up on the thread right now. If there's something I absolutely should know about, please send me a PM!

I am amazed that I only have 146 pages to catch up on! I expected a lot more. Can someone let me know anything important that has happened as I just don't think I will have the time to catch up. I have been thinking of all of you hoping all is well.

We had a good trip but with an active 2yr old it was exhausting. Eric also ended up with a horrible sinus infection that sidelined him last Tuesday and Wednesday. We are happy to be home. I will work on getting some pics posted of Pal Mickey and his adventures. I have a splitting headache and the fireworks the neighbor is setting off is not helping. I am headed to bed as I know Mo will be up early tomorrow morning!

Today ended up being a good day for me. I had a bunch of errands to run this morning and on my travels I drove by one of my old high school friend's parents house and saw an unfamiliar car in the drive. I could tell what state the plates were from and thought they might be NH, but decided to call on a whim to see if my friend might be in town. She was!!! We have lost touch and I haven't seen or spoken to her in 5 or 6 years. She was free this afternoon so she joined the boys and me at my parent's pool. We talked for about 5 hours and got caught up on each other's lives. She lives in Akron, PA. They have also received a lot of rain recently. It was nice to see her again and so unexpected.

I have a comment on the pictures -

we should make sure the picture is just of us - I know it is not in our nature to take a picture without our kids - but I love the idea of a DDA collage -

then if you want we can get one with our kids too and we could do a DDA family collage -

I really think it would be neat if it is just us in one of the collages!

I am so glad that we had our cook-out yesterday, as the rains held off until early evening and everything was done. Plus it was nice and windy.

Today the storms are back and its very humid.

Bob and I have officially been together for SIX years today! And I didn't get him a card. I'm so bad about that! Well I did buy him the 2005 Season of the Chicago White Sox World Series DVD set with pins, so I guess a card isn't needed...

Wow! It looks like all the travelin' pals are having a lot of fun. I love all the pictures on their thread. The one of Lindsay and Jonathon holding him on the beach reminds me of their Tink picture in their signature.

My mom and sister are "worried about" me. They think that I've lost my mind over Mickey & Minnie. Mom can't believe I made the girls take Nicky to Japan with them and reminded me how much they must love me for having done so. I know that! Mom said something like "I thought Tigger was your favorite Disney character?!" Yeah, he is but that doesn't mean that I can't love my travelin' Mickey too!

No need to worry Vicki's mom and girls.... she is in good company.

Here is a picture of those of us that ran in the black bear run yesterday. In the back row are my sisters boyfriend Carl, my sister and I. The middle row is my nephew Brandon, my cousin Penny and Carl's daughter Nicole. The front row is Carl's daughter Madeline and my niece Taylor. Becky didn't feel well in the morning so decided not to run and mom is having problems with her feet so couldn't participate this year.

Mom was upset. She didn't see me finish the race and missed getting my picture. I told her not to worry about it. We have lots of pictures of me running this race. I just wanted to let you know why I'm not sharing one of me at the finish line. Actually if you look real close there is a pair of green shorts and white shirt between the two posts in the background of Taylor's picture - that is me. Mom was concentrating so hard on getting Taylor's picture that she missed me. I let Taylor pull ahead of me because I always like to kick in at the end of the race and wanted her to cross before me.
