Paula, I'm so sorry to hear the news about your SIL. Prayers for her and your family :grouphug:.

Heidi, I hope you hear some good news about your mom soon :grouphug:

Robyn, good luck with your plans to move.

Debbie, here's some :wizard: for your DH. I hope he's feeling better soon.

Theresa, major :wizard: heading your way. I know you've been looking forward to this trip.

Hi Beth!

Theresa - I really hope you make it to DC

Robyn - I know how hard it is to make a decision to move - Steve and I want to - we just can't seem to pull the trigger

Amy - Just think tomorrow you will have your new little miracle - here's wishing you a short and easy labor!!!!!

Thank you all for the good wishes

Nick's test is Monday - I am not sure when I will hear results - I hope by Tuesday - I don't think I will go to DC until I have results - and if the results aren't great then I am probably going to stay home - Steve says I am going unless he needs immediate treatment - I am not sure I will be able to leave him right away if the news isn't good - I guess I will have to wait and see!

hey all -

sorry I haven't been around - things here have been CRAZY!!!

Nick has actually been doing pretty well - but I just have to find out what is going on with his heart - then I will feel so much better!!!!

I hit my knee the other day (yes - the bad one) and now it is bruised and swollen - it really hurts and I have been limping around all week!! I think I might have to go see the doctor again - the kneecap is moving more than it should be and is making sounds it shouldn't make! Hopefully when the swelling and bruising go down it will feel better!!!

Ouch! I hope that your knee is feeling better quickly and can hold out for the scheduled surgery. I am really glad to hear that Nick is doing well. You are in my prayers for calmness and strength until they can give you a proper diagnosis. :grouphug: :wizard: :grouphug:

Thanks Dawn.

I called yesterday and they had taken and Electrocardiogram and they also took some blood from her port to see if the infection might be in a heart valve or in the port. Her fever had broken the night befor and she was feeling much better.

I will be calling her soon to see if she has heard back from the doctors on what they did yesterday.

Can you help me with a design I tried to use, but comes out blurry?
8 days until my familes very first trip to Disney World.
DH is so cute....he even put cucumbers into a Mickey on my plate last week....
DD-16 and DD-11 are sooooooo excited.

Every year on the 4th - our group of friends participates in the local 4th of July parade - usually we just slap some decorations on the float and go - this year - I decided to do a little more and found these for the float - unfortunately it rained - but we still had a great time!!

Those are great decorations! I love the theme. All of your pictures are so cute! The kids look like they were having a great time.

Well it’s been a rather wild and crazy few days.

First every time I get on to read or post….. either Vicki or Christi is pm’ing me. :) So if you are looking for a reply to a post, I would love to, but I can’t get Vicki or Christi to stop talking to me via pm. :lmao: (just kidding, I love the pm’s ladies);)

So the other day Bethie and Ellie were playing and Bethie dislocated her elbow. We didn’t know it at the time because she didn’t tell us where it hurt. Yes I know she is only 2 ¾ , but she does talk well. We took her to the ER after not being able to figure out why she was still crying. They x-rayed her arm and then the Dr. messed with it and POP, it went back into place, the Dr handed her a pencil and she was back to normal. We gave her motrin later that day for the light pain, but that was it. I guess it is very common in kids under 4 to have this happen. It’s called nursemaid’s elbow.

Tonight we get a call that my SIL is coming out from MI for her last few months of life. The Dr have told her in the past she has between 2 weeks and 2 years to live. Well as of today they are giving her no more than a few months. The cancer has just taken off like a rocket and is all over her now. We are making plans to visit my MIL a lot these next few months because that is where my SIL will be staying. This news totally sucks, but we knew it was coming, it is just a little to fast for everyone. Then again learning someone is going to die soon is always to fast.

SO here is my warning to you, if I drop off the face of the DDA for a while do not worry I am likely up at my MIL’s and will contact one of you to let you know why I cam gone. I will do my best to post that I am leaving, but again I don’t want to get in trouble like Glynis did, so this is my warning of short notice leaving.

Now back to our regularly scheduled reading and posting. :happytv:

I am sorry that the news isn't good for your SIL. However, I am relieved to hear that she is coming "home". It will be nice for everyone to be together for as long as possible. :grouphug: to you all. We'll be praying extra hard if we see you missing for a while at anytime.

Look who was waiting for us on our sidewalk when we got home!!

of course I had to take photos for you guys!!

BTW: I got a new camera - it has a 10x zoom!! That was really important to me and I love it!!! It is a Kodak - I think a z650?!? I have always had Kodak easy shares and I LOVE them!!!

We ended the day with Cars and dinner at Red Robin -

Nick doesn't like fireworks and it was cloudy so we headed home to bed!

Have you used your high zoom much yet? How do the pics turn out. The z650 and z740 are so much more in my budget than the Sony and Canon versions, but the people on the photography board scream at any mention of the Kodak's and their lack of image stabalization.

I know I will miss a lot of people if I try and post individually so here's some hugs :grouphug: for everybody.

I've had a pretty crappy start to my vacation and without going into many details I need some major pixie dust this way so that we can go to Washington next week. It's totally my own idiocy but I would sure appreciate it thanks.

Good morning everyone! :wave2:

Would I sound redundant if I said things were crazy around here?!! As I was telling Jennifer yesterday, at this point, I am so anxious for Matthew to get here, because there's no way I'm going to get all I want to do done before he does (she claimed that made sense, but I'm doubting my sanity at this point! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: )

Last night we went to Babies-R-Us and bought our double stroller. Thank you so much for your generosity! We will think of you all, every time we open and close that monstrosity! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I have no idea where our camera cords or card reader are, but my sister was kind enough to email me a few pictures from the last day of swimming lessons. Alyssa actually looks a little content, though there was still a lot of whining and crying going on. Do you like where she stuck her duck?!! :teeth:

We have a new refrigerator being delivered today and my mom is arriving tonight. I have several DDA phone numbers plugged into my cell phone, but no fighting over who gets to post Matthew's arrival first! :goodvibes

I hope you all have a great weekend! :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Amy :)

YEAH!!! Tomorrow's the big day!! Yippee!! Come on Matthew we want to meet you!

Many prayers and :wizard: for a quick and safe delivery. You will all be in our thoughts. Hugs to big sister Alyssa. You still look amazing even just a week before delivery.

Good morning all. I have been reading along but since I got back from vacation I just feel out of sorts. It seems like I get on here and get distracted way to easily with something else and then I come back and am lost. :confused3 I think it is just this feeling that I am just not caught up here or in my house and then we are in the middle of making a big change in our lives.

While on vacation in Michigan, we made the decision to move out there. This has been on the table for a few years but after being there recently, I know this is where I want to be. I have felt for a long time that I am not home. I have lived in Maryland all my life and 90% of my family is here but I don't feel like this is the place for Eric, the girls and I. Our short term goal is 1 year and the long term is 2 years. I really like the area and the housing market is more within our reach as far as owning a little larger house. Eric has been researching his career field out there and it seems to be an area where he shouldn't have a problem finding something So we have been doing a lot of research on the job and housing market out there. My cousin lives in Kalamazoo and they have this program "The Kalamazoo Promise" which entitles kids graduating from the school system to a free/reduced college education to any MI state college/univ, so this is a major draw for us. If we can get there by the time Emma enters 3rd grade tuition would be covered 95% and Molly enrolled by Kindergarten would be covered 100%. Having family there is a big plus as Eric can stay with them when he is job hunting/interviewing. Not to mention that they can help point us in the right direction to available jobs and nice areas to set down some roots.

Sorry for the rambling! Just know that I am around and reading.

Sounds like the right answer for your family, Robyn. Good luck finding the right job and location soon. You will all be in my prayers through this transition.

Tia -

I just took some pictures of the house across the street progressively zooming it -

when I did the largest zoom - (the digital zoom) I could tell the camera was really shaking - but I was still able to get the shot - I am not a serious enough photographer for this to bother me!!

this is the normal view

this is the 10x zoom

this is half of the digital zoom

this is the digital zoom x5 - does that make it 50x? not sure how it is calculated

Wow! Thanks, Kate!! The 10x zoom looks really good and that is mostly what I would use. I don't tend to use the optical zoom at all as it seem shakier and the quality isn't as good. Maybe I'll just go with the Kodak after all. I am not a serious photographer either. Though I would like to improve my skills, I figure that the Kodak is such a step up from my current one that it can't be all bad. Thanks for the example! That really does help.

I have always had a Kodak easy share and they are so easy to use! I bought this one b/c I wanted more zoom and to be able to take nicer pictures but I don't want to learn how to do all the special settings!

DH and I want some nice prints of DC to hang in our bedroom but the ones we love are more than we want to spend so I intend to spend some time next week taking pictures of DC for our room - Thursday afternoon I will have plenty of time to take them by myself - I also want to try to get some at sunset -

I will let you know how that goes!

HUGS TO BETHIE

and

OMG!!!!!!!! Glynis -

everytime one of us picks our kids up by their arms and spin them around my mom FLIPS out!!! She lectures us - you are going to pull their arms out of their sockets - we all laugh at her and ask her is she has every actually heard of that happening to someone - we all just think she is bonkers!!! and now you have proven her right!!!!! Now my dilemma - do I tell her or not?!!?

That actually happened to be probably 20 times when i was younger, and then 3 since then! It hurts like crap, and some people are just really prone to it!

now whether or not you tell her, that's your own decision ;)

Tia-

If I want a stable image I put my Z740 in sport mode. Yes sometimes I still have a blurry picture but I can't seem to keep myself still. It took an hour last night to download 5 pics up to photobucket....I hate dial up sometimes!! But if I can get some more pics downloaded is there a specific one I should try and take so you can "know" better how it works?

PS I am going to a museum today and it would be no trouble to do this :teeth:

Hello DDA! i got out of work at 12 today instead of 4, which was nice!!

Now, my exciting news for the day!! Since i got out of work early, i met up with my dad and brother to do some errands..We went to the firehouse, where i was told alex was awake!!! After that, we went to the hospital. They said he was sleeping and my brother and dad went in...After that was my turn. I went in with my dad, and we were in for less than 5 minutes. While we were there, he twitched his leg. I saw his eyes open a tiny bit, and then he opened them all the way and left them open! He looked right at me and you could see his lips moving, as if he were trying to talk or kiss me hello. He lifted up his hand off the bed and my dad held his hand and Alex was squeezing. When my dad let his hand go, he reached for my hand. I held on and squeezed and smiled at him. He squeezed back pretty hard!!
So he is not out of the woods yet at all, but this is a great improvment!!! I was thrilled seeing him respond to me like that--Please keep the prayers coming--THEY ARE WORKING!! thanks!

GREAT NEWS!!!!! More PD and prayers!!!!
