Oldest dd has been helping me around the house for a while now. Youngest dd (4 1/2) kept bugging me for a "job to do." (I need to tape record this, so I can play it back in a few years;) ) So, she now has my cleaning gloves on and is cleaning the microwave and next stop will be her bathroom sink that she can't seem to keep the toothpaste out of! Oldest dd is about ready to clean the computer desk, so I'll have to sign off soon. Who am I to stop progress?;)

Child labor...gotta love it!;) :p :D

What jobs do your kids do around the house?

:D yes, definitly get her on tape;)
my two did things like pick up toys and put them away and help set the table for dinner and empty all the trash cans inside into the big one outside when they were little. I never could get them to enjoy dusting ( must be genetic;) )

wow can you tell me how you managed that? Have you discovered some ancient secret...if so I am willing to pay for it!!!

My son loves to help me put up clothes after they're folded.:) He does a good job. His favorite job is folding the washclothes. It's so cute when he does that! He sticks out his tongue in concentration.:)

My daughter likes to help me cook sometimes. Her favorite things to help with are eggs and mac n cheese.

Careful... this is how Kathy Lee got started.;)

Quick! Make a tape recording of it! Write it in your journal! Take Videos and pictures!

I hope it lasts!;)

Speaking as the parent of a teen and pre-teen, I tell you these pictures will come in handy! LOL

I hope it lasts!

You and me both! However, little do they know that whatever jobs I am teaching them now will be theirs in a few years anyways! :D I will say they both like to be involved and stay busy, so I am just trying to channel all that energy into a positive direction!:D Yeah, Yeah, I know I'm dreaming, but let me have my little fantasy! ;) :)

You go girl... I adore child labor... except sometimes you have to follow behind.. to fix their helpfulness;)

LOL... You sound like my mom. She used to get me to do all the dusting and vaccuuming when I was younger... :)

When I was little, I loved to spray and wipe things. I'd Pledge the whole house for my mom and think it was fun!

One time, I got carried away and did the hardwood floor of her bedroom. :earseek: That taught my mom a lesson about child labor.

So far, my kid shows no interest in spraying-and-wiping, but boy, does he love to vacuum! Fortunately, we have a bagless model so I can see if he gets something he shouldn't have.

How cute everyone. DGD is very good at cleaning (her Mom owns her own cleaning business so she has been taught well)

Without my asking her the other day she went and got my Clorox mop and did the whole kitchen floor. I asked her why she mopped the floor and she told me "I thought it looked kind of dingy". LOL What a critic ;)

DS does nothing. Not for lack of trying mind you...he is just not very coordinated...just turned 6 though. I am just grateful he DOES get his toothpaste out of the sink. He tries really hard to wash dishes too. :)

DD is the little helper. She is learning to cook (she made a meatloaf the other night!), she keeps her bed made and gets her own clothes together in the morning. She also helps clean the bathroom (By choice) and feeds the animals. The rats are hers but she takes care of the dog now too.

DS, who is 23, works all day and is just so tired! Poor baby! He does help his dad mow the yard and he loves to mow the fields on the tractor. But I don't know if he is considers it work or fun! BUT I can't wait until he gets married next year! I am really grinning right now!!!!!!;) He may find out just how much mom lets him get away with!!!
