The Dana on Mission Bay

We are staying at The Dana for 5 days and have one free day of leisure and am looking to do some sight seeing or hanging out on the beach. Any suggestions? Is it too cool to hang at the beach. We're Canadians and usually endure minus 30 degree winters. WOuld it be silly to wear shorts and tshirts?

We already have the zoo, Sea World, and Lego Land planned. What Outlet malls are in the San Diego area?

For outlet malls, you'll probably want to stick with the Carlsbad Premium Outlets. That will be near Lego Land, so just wait to go there until you're in the area. There are the Las Americas Premium Outlets but they are going to be out of your way (on the Mexican border).

Regarding what to wear, when exactly are you coming? Today the high is in the 50's here in San Diego, low in the 40's. That's certainly not t-shirt and shorts weather for me but I won't tell you what you can and cannot wear!

The Las Americas outlet seems to be an actual discount place. I've been to both Carlsbad and Viejas and it doesn't seem to save me any money when I go there. It's also about the same distance from where you are staying. Just south instead of north.

Wear whats comfortable for you. If that's shorts then wear shorts. I wont say anything.

BTW the Carlsbad outlet is very, very close to Legoland.

The Embarcadaro, Midway Museum and Seaport Village are all nice. The museums in Balboa Park are also a good bet.
