Well it's a good thing I went to Kindergarten orientation today, apparently school starts on Tuesday, not Wednesday!!!

I've been thinking about this all week. I can't imagine how hard it will be for both of you, but really, it will be good for BOTH of you, once you make it through.

Good thing you went... but my guess is school may not start on Tuesday!!! Guess Wednesday we can scrap together!!!!

Hope everyone is batting down the hatches... things could get ugly soon... I keep watching all the weather reports... I'm landlocked so this stuff amazes me...

I've been in touch w/ numerous friends on the coast... I have one friend I had to convience not to go body surfing!!! (Just so you know, she wouldn't do it but it was a way to make her laugh!)

Yeah, I have a feeling school will be delayed at least one day. Tues is day 1 for DD and DS9, Wed is day 1 for DS10, and Thurs is day 1 for DS15.

Nan, I'll take hurricanes over tornadoes and earthquakes any day, at least I have time to prepare!!!!

I'm stressing so my hives are acting up, I haven't itched all day and I didn't even have to take anything this morning.

We are here, did some sight seeing and shopping this afternoon. Now to try and get some sleep for the long day tomorrow. Move in begins at 8 am, lunch at 11 and orientation for DS and parents begins at 1. At 4 pm we say goodbye to him and head for home so we can prepare for hurricane. He is so excited for this. We had a long talk on the way up and he is trying to reassure me that he is going to eat right, study hard, and all that good stuff a mom wants to hear. I asked him if he was going to call me Monday night after classes and he laughed at me! But I know I will get a call on Monday. He is such a good kid!

BAMB I would be very surprised if school opens for Tuesday. I know our superintendent was making sure that our emergency calling systems were in place yesterday in case he needs to call school. First day for our teachers is supposed to be Monday, I'm thinking they may get a day or two more of summer vacation.

Christy, did you hear us and? Hope you and your family are making progress battening down the hatches.

One local school canceled already. I suspect the rest will follow suit soon. I'm not to worried though, the teachers already said this week will be spent learning the routine.

Cassey, I'm glad to hear y'all made it safely. Good luck today on the move-in and orientation and saying goodbye. We did that on Wednesday and even though my DS is still in the same town it was hard. I've seen him twice since and talked to him a few times, but I expect that to change a lot once he gets settled and makes new friends and gets involved in things. I figure that if I don't hear from him much and I have to seek him out, then he's fitting in well!!!
