Pixie dust for everyone who isn't feeling well. I hope you feel better soon.

Rebecca, sounds like you are enjoying the subbing. Have fun today!

TRM, good luck on the house. I bet you can't wait to move in!

I'd like to ask for some pixie dust for DH's job. We have a new governor in January and I already don't like him! Usually when a new governor comes in, they ask for resignation letters from the heads of all the state agencies. He reviews the resumes of those in the position and a few will get to stay, but most go and get filled with his preferences. Well, our incumbent governor is not a politician and isn't doing things like usual. He's a businessman and he's coming in like he's taking over a business. He's asked for resignation letters from all of upper management in all the state agencies. This includes my DH. He had to turn in his letter of resignation, with an effective date of January 3. So, we now do not know if he'll have a job or not. I'm worried sick about it. DH didn't want to tell me about it because he knew I'd worry all through Christmas, but he knew I needed to know. He keeps telling me not to worry since there's nothing I can do, but I can't help it. So, please send pixie dust, keep your fingers crossed and pray that DH doesn't get booted out the door. Thank you!:flower3:

My day:
DS up and off to school
Stay home!!!!:yay: I've worked all week and let me tell you, that store is crazy right now. I'm not a cashier, I'm on the sales floor, but I've spent 75% of my time this week on the register and have gotten none of my own duties done. But, our stores sales are way up so that's good news for my job!!!!
Laundry
Clean
Bills
Clean up scrap room so that overflow in dining room can be put back where it belongs
Pick out & order photo for this year's Christmas card
Write this year's Christmas letter
Finish making Christmas cards
Start addressing Christmas cards
Grocery shopping
Make sure DS has copies of his audition packet for tomorrow
Give my kitties lots of attention, they've been left alone way too much this week
Gather stitching supplies for trip to Orange Park tomorrow to stitch with friends and my Mom
Make list of scrap supplies I need as there's a scrap store in Orange Park near my friend's house that I'm going to check out.
Put the stack of pages I pulled for my classes back into their books

I'm sure there's more, I just can't think of it!

Good morning :)

P & PD for all in need!
Stephanie--I'll be praying for your DH
Hope all the "sickies" feel better soon :)

DH and I are heading to Breckenridge for a mini vacation (no kids, no dogs) we'll be back on Monday afternoon.

Have a great weekend all :)

Deb, just get a box and put lots of $1.00 bills in it if he doesn't give you an idea! hope Palo comes through soon.

PD to the sickies!

TRM waiting on your house has to be tough, hope the insp are all done next week!

Steph, sending lots of PD for your DH!

Cheryl, enjoy your get away, Breckenridge is so pretty...Jim did a course in Avon back in 94, only there for 2 weeks, but enjoyed the area!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Rebecca - i forgot to say congratulations on the subbing! You have been patient while that has been in the works! so glad you are enjoying it so far.

DIT~ We understand your pain here... the little ones I watch afterschool have the same situation going on... Mom is out of a job come Jan 1. The political people who came in are rude, nasty and only out for themselves.... :( I will say prayers and send lots of pixie dust that DH's job is spared.... Seems like they shouldn't rattle the cages of the people that are getting the work done and instead should focus on getting the country/states back on track... Not always do they get that when they hire their 2nd cousin once removed for a position they are NOT qualified for...

Today:

Still taking it easy so I need to do 3 things...

1. grocery run (before sn*w hits tomorrow, we need milk...go figure!)
2. clean up village (kids set it up in a straight line LOL)
3. dishes

DH drove me to DS14's basketball game last night... He did well, they won... but if they had a game ball coach said my DS would have received it because he is the littlest guy out there (5' tall ~ he will grow) took two charges in 3 minutes!!! He set his little body up and the big boys plowed him over...he got back up and laughed... Of course most of the parents know it was my kid because I stood up and applauded both plays...he stopped 4 unnecessary points that could have been scored!!! :cheer2:

Nancy, congrats to your DS, way to hussle:banana:
feel better!

Stephanie- I will keep your dh's job int thoughts.

Nan--way to go, DS!!

DIT--sending lots of prayers and pixie dust for the job!!

Steph, have your dh check out fhwa in your state, although all fed employees may be furloughed by the end of the month if congress doesn't approve a budget.
Linda, I hope Mr. B has a fun weekend skiing. Buffalo sure got slammed.

My Friday to do list:

Up early, not by choice. :sad2:
Ironed pants to wear to work
Feed cats
put wood in the wood stove
Clean kitchen
write in DD's communication book
Get DD up and ready for school
caffeinate
work
wrap a few presents
finish MomE's birthday album
watch Top Chef dvr'd show
bed early

Lisa, that's one of the places he's looking at since he works with them a lot already. He's also looking at private contractors, but that would probably mean moving and we don't want to do that. But, right now it's all up in the air as to what can happen. Hopefully he'll stay in his current job as he's been working with the State for 26 years already and he had planned to retire from there.
