The Daily Grind ~ 11/19/12

It's not like I want her to have a "boyfriend" at 12, but no one should ignore her. Especially to go from weeks and weeks of daily contact to nothing. She knows they're fickle and change their minds like the wind, but you know, she's 12 (and mama bear doesn't want some stupid boy breaking her tender heart).

I'd give him the benefit of the doubt for a second though. When DD gets in trouble first thing to go is her phone. She can't text anyone back. :) sometimes I text and say sorry she's grounded. Or I just shut it off. Mo contact. But if she sees him today and he's ignoring her then somethings up. :) DD luckily still thinks boys are icky.

I'll agree with the boys are stupid - maybe something is wrong with his phone ;)

hope the heat gets on soon - ya are making me cold & it is 72 here right now

Jennifer,

How did Morgan say he acted at school today??? I hope they got things squared away... boys are icky!!! ;)

Hey all! Late check in!

Tell Morgan we say "Boys are Stoopid and they smell funny" at our house. My DD is 12 and goes through this too. HUGS to Morgan.

And Jennifer - think you can use this Xyron refill??

We are off school this week. So today we lounged around and then went horseback riding.

Now playing on computer - Girls are watching TV. going to get to cleaning. Dad is on way here, driving, from kansas. Need to catch up the laundry. And clean the kitchen.

The weekend after Thanksgiving we always mark and brand the calves here. So good times. 12/2 we are headed to Disneyland!! YAY! Need to call and make Bippety Boppity ressies and change one character breakfast.

Guess I better get to it!

I haven't seen her yet today, she goes to dance before I get home. I'll ask when she gets home.

ETA: I have to say, this boy is adorable. She could do a heck of a lot worse. And, I know he's a nice kid. He's actually adorkable :)

Johnna, I'll check tomorrow, I promise!

I ended up leaving work early. My feet were pretty much like blocks of ice by that point. It wasn't fixed when I left at 3:45, and the HVAC truck wasn't there anymore. My boss is going to be peeved to say the least.

Good thing you are off tomorrow, right Jennifer??? I would not go in two days in a row to freeze!!! I know you have to because it's work.. but that would be so frustrating..

It better be fixed by Wednesday. I can't stand another day of it (and as I'm over 40, I'm generally 3-5 degrees warmer than everyone else - not so today!).

Cheryl- Sorry about the trip, but at least there is WDW to look forward to :goodvibes

Jennifer- Hope work warms up. Good luck with the boy stuff!!

Caroline- Glad you are feeling up to the holidays this year- I am sure it is difficult

I am hoping to survive one more day of work this week. I have so much I need to do to get ready to go out of town, but I am so exhausted I don't want to think about it! I hate Mondays!!! ;)

Sorry about the heat. I hope you have thawed out!

I love that word....adorkable! Perfectly describes my middle guy. Tall, blonde, cute and wants to be a theoretical physicist. Go figure! Thanks Big Bang Theory. Wait till he hears my new nickname for him. ;)

Jen, sorry about the yucky boy issue...hope he will be nice again! thankful Megan isn't showing any interest as of yet, but know its on the horizon :faint:
hope you heat is fixed, do you have a space heater you could use?

Cheryl, happy the ENT said there is no need for surgery.....sorry Rachel is having to cancel her Spain trip, but Disney is a great backup graduation trip!

Dan (yes, the same name as her dad), plays the clarinet, collects rocks, and is trying out for the spring musical. He is very much a dork. And yes, he's cute as can be. Brown hair, green eyes...very handsome :p:p

We LOVE The Big Bang Theory! DH is very much a dork (comic book fan) but not a physicist. :rotfl2:

My guys are huge Beatles fans, love comic books and my middle DS wears a superhero t-shirt almost every day. My sisters feed into his habit and buy new ones whenever they find them. We all really love The Big Bang Theory. My DH didn't like it at first and refused to watch, but when he heard us laughing he just couldn't resist. Even my youngest loves the show. Who would have ever thought that the girl who flunked algebra would have three boys who are math geniuses. All three want to go into physics.....Tyler and Nick cause they really understand what it means. Nathan, just because that's what brothers want to do. :confused3 I usually refer to the three of them as my own personal geek squad. Our favorite saying at home is "I'm not crazy, my mother had me tested." :rotfl2:

I just found a huge hardcover encyclopedia of superhoes at sam's club this weekend. Bought him a copy for Christmas. He will be thrilled!

Physicists are interesting people. :) most of the time its ok. But science channel shows on space and quantum physics get old fast. Sometimes he's too literal, its awful.

Funny though cause his parents had him tested when he was young cause they thought he was "special" turned out he was but on the other side. Haha

Dan has the Marvel and DC encyclopedias. He took one out the other day and was looking for info about the Green Arrow. :lmao:

OMG....maybe that's a sign. My two oldest are the most literal about everything! I have to explain that I'm being sarcastic with them about 80% of the time. :confused3 They definitely did not get my sense of humor.

My biggest worries about them going into physics is there will be no job prospects for them after graduation.

When we made our vist to the last college we were able to sit in on a physics class. I thought I was going to fall out of my seat from boredom. It was all just a bunch of nonsense to me, but I could see him in his true element. Just hope it will lead him somewhere.

That might be kinda what I found for Nick. For having raised three boys I sure don't know much about superheroes. When he is missing a shirt he has to describe what's on it for me to know if I've washed it or not. :lmao:

:lmao: Then you have found where he belongs. DBF has the same issue at first but now he has caught on. every now and then he does ask if I am joking. Him and DS can watch those shows all day. no thank you.

There isnt much in the way of jobs. DBF works in IT. I would just talk to him about his minor/back up career.
