I haven't even gone on my next trip and I'm already planning the one after that. We are going to get APs during this trip so that we can go back at Halloween time next year. I have a couple questions:

1) Early morning hours -- are these NOT available if you don't have a park hopper ticket? I thought that was one of the benefits of staying at a Disney resort, that you got early entry?

2) This is really a question about the upcoming trip -- it says we get one early morning entry, but once again, I thought we got it for the entirety of the trip on days that there are early morning hours.

3) Paradise Pier -- I'm eying this hotel for the next trip just to try it out. Is it a far walk to the parks? Also, what is the concierge level service like there? I noticed that we can probably stay (this is based on regular rates and not AP rates) for concierge there for the price it would be to stay park view at the DL Hotel or standard view at GC.

1) If you are using an AP and not at least a 3-day park hopper, then the only way to get a MM is to stay at an on-site hotel. If you have a park-hopper, then you get one MM.

2) If you are staying on-site, it SAYS you only get one MM, but the consensus on the board is that you really get it ANY MM day during your stay, because you just show your room key and they don't check off a day or anything like that.

3) I don't know :)

Ahhhh so if I do stay at one of the Disney hotels, then I will get MM regardless of if I'm using a hopper or AP?

I wouldn't normally care, but it seems that October this year was madness. I'd just like to get any advantage we can to help avoid crowds.

Yup, so if you're staying OFF-site, the only way to get a MM is to buy at least a 3-day park hopper. If you're staying ON-site, whether or not you have an AP, you get MM's. Since you will have an AP (are going to get one) then staying on-site is the only way to get an MM.

Magic Morning is a perk you get one of two ways. You get one MM in a 3+ day normal ticket. Or you get it when you stay onsite.

So as an AP holder you can get it by staying onsite. If you have a ticket AND are staying onsite, well, it's no biggie, b/c you get it no matter what. :)

I like PPH! I've read that their concierge is actually better than DLH's.

You walk out the FRONT entrance, get to the crosswalk, walk through GCH's DTD path (go inside the big doors, go left towards a long hallway, turn right to get outside via automatic glass-door, follow path) to get to the esplanade for DL. If you're heading to Grizzly or the PP area of DCA, go through the GCH entrance. If you're heading to TOT or that area...I'm not sure of the shortest way (esplanade or GCH/DCA entrance).

Excellent! That is exactly what I wanted to know. Looks like it will be onsite for us yet again come October.

I'm beginning to think my days of staying at Good Neighbor hotels are over. I'm getting far too spoiled for my own good :)

Ooooo very good to know!

I'm hoping the stars align and I can stay on-site in March. I called yesterday to get some rates (the AP site isn't showing through March yet) and the CM told me that though I can book at a particular rate now, it will probably be cheaper if I call back next month, so I'll see if she was right! I wish my sister was coming in December, because PP is $119 a night, less than Camelot where we are currently booked for March!

That will be my plan. Once we decide on dates, I'll go ahead and book just to have our room reserved. I figure I can always cancel and then rebook once AP rates are out if they are cheaper.
