The Current Disneyland Annual Pass Program Has Been Cancelled

Hey all, sorry if this has been answered. I did a quick scan through the thread and didn’t see anything.

How do we know if we’re legacy AP’s? I made my last payment on our Sig Plus passes on March 5 last year, then I just opted for them to not take payments any more. They just naturally expired in July. Does that mean I’m not a legacy holder as of March 14?

The blurb on the Disneyland website says I would need to show my AP for discounts, but the app isn’t showing them anymore. So, how could I show them? And, I didn’t get any email saying that I was a Legacy AP.

Thanks for any insight everyone.

Anyone who held an active AP on March 14, 2020 is considered Legacy. You're Legacy with an AP that expired in July.

You get the discounts by presenting the physical card which technically has always been the requirement to get discounts and perks associated with an AP, but some CMs were willing to just scan from the app at their discretion. There was always a blurb in the app to "not forget your physical card" for this very reason.

Thanks for the reminder. Of course you’re right. I always took my Physical AP to the park. It’s been so long I had forgotten. Lol.

again, thanks.

I haven't used the physical card in years. Is there any way to get a replacement because I don't know where mine is?

I would not think that is possible at this point since the program has ended and there are no ticket sales anyway, but I suppose you could call and ask.

Replacement cards used to be $20, I think, so even if it was possible, you’d have to spend a lot to make that worth it in discounts...

I got my refund yesterday for our APs. I double checked it against my paperwork and it was done exactly correctly, even though it was complicated (used a park hopper as a down payment, two different APs with different start dates). They did a good job.

I got a survey from Disney on Wednesday. I finally had a chance to sit down and take it today, and it asked only my zip code, my age, my race/ethnicity and then it said "That is all the information we need from you at this time." This was despite the fact that when I opened the survey, it said it would take about 10 minutes. So clearly these were screening questions, and since I didn't fit into their demographic, they didn't actually progress to the survey. I am an AP who lives in Texas, so I suspect that my zip code caused them to decide that my opinions were not important to them for whatever they were exploring. It was a survey from the same firm that did the AP surveys that were shown in screen shots on this thread, so I suspect it might have been similar or that same survey, but I disqualified myself based on those 3 questions. I can't imagine age of 49 was a disqualifier, so I suspect it was my zip code. This is very disheartening because I think there are many out of state AP holders like me, and the needs of "local" AP holders are very different than those of out of state AP holders. I would have liked a chance to voice my opinion in the survey.

It may just be that they’ve had enough responses from your area/general distance from DLR/age group/etc.

I doubt that there are a lot of APs from Texas or my area that jumped on and did the survey right away, but maybe? I think they are just focusing on their local APs and trying to figure out the best way to monetize those pass holders. Certainly there are probably many, many thousands more local APs than those of us in Texas, so figuring out how to squeeze money out of those folks will yield more than worrying about the small number of out of state (former) pass holders. I guess I will have to send an unsolicited email if I want to give my thoughts, but it seems like a waste of time now, after being tossed out of the survey.

The last time they tried to open, they were going to be limited to a radius of something like 120 miles. I suspect that you are correct and your zip code made your opinion unnecessary at this time. Considering that they will need to open at a very reduced capacity, I could see them only planning on opening to California or a smaller area than that.

They have your zip code prior to sending out the surveys. Generally, they accept a certain number of surveys from different demographics and when they reach that, they cut off. Who knows if it was zip code, age, or just they closed it overall.

I had six months left on my Flex, and I upgraded from a 3-day parkhopper, so I'm curious to see what I'll end up getting.
Since I posted this last month, I figured I'd update: I got the refund this weekend.

Coincidentally, it was within a dollar of what I paid for the upgrade ($320). To be honest, with roughly six months remaining, the refund was a little bit more than I was expecting, so it was a nice surprise. Hopefully a good sign for those still waiting.

Thank you for the update.

I'm not expecting a refund. I'm thinking the cost to process the money would be more than the value due me. :)

They might still do it. I had a tax refund for a $1 once some years ago. I wanted to frame the check with a plaque highlighting that it cost more to process than the check was written for :rotfl: . So I could see Disney doing it to keep their books balanced based on their formula for refunds.

It’s been quiet on the membership front since the surveys came out. Anyone got anything juicy since then?

With the potential to move the opening to orange tier one would think some info on pricing (both opening tickets and annual passes) might start trickling out.

Orange tier is at least 3 mos away, if all goes well. Like I previously said, more likely to be June/July. I wouldn't expect to see anything until maybe April.

ETA - To clarify, once they get closer to seeing a possible opening, they will start to discuss bringing back employees, bringing up rides for certification, etc... Like last summer, it will be about a month process once they know they will be able to reopen.

I received a tax refund for $1 one time. I never cashed the check, and about a year later (presumably after the check was stale dated) they sent me a replacement check for $1.

eRefunds for Nov activation received two weeks ago - as expected amount.
Refunds for June activation -- checks due to ecard used - received this week -- as expected amounts.

Ready to go spend on DCA-food event :)

Orange tier is not 3 months away. Yesterday's numbers had us at 18 cases per 100k and a positivity rate (just over 6%) rapidly approaching Orange tier.

OC is expected to be eligible for Red tier by March 17 (possibly sooner if numbers decline more than an average of 4% par day which seems likely). By the time they get placed there (2 weeks later), those 2 weeks of data may very well qualify for Orange tier, making Mid to late April the most likely scenario if there is no new spike in cases.
