they said the pound would crash after the election...and so it has...

i don't own any pounds, but i have lots and lots of ever more worthless euros...

What seems to be going on now is a massive amount of global risk aversion as a result of the Eurozone chaos. So the dollar (and yen) are rising against more risky currencies, of which the pound is one.
FWIW I would have thought the pound would be rising vs the euro, and it has a bit over the last few weeks, but I suppose the markets fear that might be out of the frying pan into the fire. The pound has held up recently against other currencies like the Swiss Franc and Aussie Dollar (after having fallen earlier), which reinforces my view that it's a dollar thing rather that (at the moment) a pound thing.
If George Osborne or Mervyn King say anything too stupid that could change though...

i no it does not sound so good but if you look at the high to lowest amount over the past 9 months its over there was a difference of $128.55 on just £500.
thats one swanky meal out.
but it has gone up 3 cents in the last 5 days.
or $15.25 on £500

i keep you all informed we still have to get are holiday money.
