The Coveted $200 Disney Visa offer

I FINALLY got the $200 offer in the mail last night. But my trip is only 6 weeks away. Do I even stand a chance of getting the GC in the mail in time?

I have a Disney Visa; and usually convert my points into a GC right at the park; you can get one at guest relations, then you call the number, and they load the card up with your Disney Dollars.

I don't know what your offer is; I guess if it is specifically for a physical gift card, and not just $200 in Disney Dollars on your account, then maybe that wouldn't work.

The thing I would be concerned with is how long it takes them to process the points to your account; that may be a bigger hold up than waiting for a GC to show up in the mail.

I think it would depend on what the minium purchase require is and how quickly you can reach it. When I applied for the DV GC offer a few years back I applied on line and received the card in ~ 10 days. There was no minimum purchase to put on the card so I used it right way. The offer says allow 6-8 weeks to receive the gift card but I got it in around 2 weeks. So from the day I applied for the card on line until I had the GC was close to 4 weeks. This was 2010 so things have have changed with how quickly they send out the gift card. Mine was a gift card not rewards points.

We got that offer in the mail the other day too and I was wondering the same thing. Our trip is in three months, so I think we might go for it. Don't know when we will be able to return to Disney, so hopefully we get the gift card in time to use it on this trip!

This is how we paid for tips on our last trip. Our trip was in February 2013 and final balance was due mid December 2012. Got approved for the Dis Visa a few days before. Wanted to use it to pay off our vacation balance and were afraid the card wouldn't arrive in time. Called Chase and they over-nighted the card (of course they want you to have that card ASAP so you can start spending!). Paid off the balance on our vacation with the Visa and recieved the $200 gift card well in advance of our vacation. I think it took 10-14 days maybe? I, too, was afraid we wouldn't get it in time. Oh, and fyi, I did call at one point to check the status of the gift card and was told by the Chase card rep that they have no way to check the status of the cards....moot point..it got there in time for us. Hmmm... I never get any Disney Visa offers. How can I get this offer??? We are going to be paying off a very large Disney cruise and WDW trip this fall and would probably be swayed with a $200 offer, but not less than that. Thanks!

We got one of those recently and applied for it. We're cutting it close, but I did call up the CC company and they seemed pretty willing to work with me.

As far as how to get one, I really don't know. I thought maybe it was because I recently created an account on the Disney site, signed up for deals and promotions through some website (can't remember exactly which one unfortunately) and have been really active on the Disney website.

Do they notify you when you eligible to get the $200 GC after you've spent the $500 that is required? Or do they just see that you've spent $500 on your records and just send it? I am new to this and just met my requirement to get the gift card but wasn't sure if I am waiting on an email from them or anything.

If you are crusing, then you must get it. You also get $50 on board credit and the 0% 6 months no interest is a nice deal.

I got the offer but we already are Premier members. Called for the heck of it, but they want me to open up a new account, which of course I won't do...

Just so everyone knows, the Disney Rewards site has the $200 GC offer up for anyone to use when they apply. It is only $100 for the non-premier. You have to spend $500 first though.

Received our cards yesterday, August 9. The race is on to charge $500 and get our $200 gift card back before November 1! My husband is worried that we can spend the money in time. Oh he of little faith!

You are on the same time schedule as me! Applied & was approved a week ago Friday. Card arrived this part Thursday & I immediately called my TA with the number. She called Disney and had them credit my AmEx & charge the final balance to the Visa so I'd meet the $500 & qualify for 6 mos interest free. Now the wait is on for my GC to arrive. We leave 9/18...one day short of 6 weeks. I hope it's here...$200 in free money is always a plus!
