You are so much further ahead than I am. I planned on doing Disney math today, but the DH needed me to go to work with him today. He's an appliance repair guy and there was one apt that he might have needed a 2nd person for. Since I am a stay at home mom that goes to school (but on a break from school) I went with him.

Lol - yeah I am a little crazy with the scenarios. It's my bday today so I figured since we don't really exchange gifts I would let them watch a movie this am and I would go to my happy place Pricing out scenarios is oddly fun for me. And of course DH thinks I am a lunatic.

SandiKB - we can be cellmates (wait, when you are commited it isn't a cell).. we will be padded roomates! It is only Jan 4th and I am.. err.. 6 in now so in a few months who knows how many pages I will have

I love pricing out scenarios!!! In fact, if friends or family want to price WDW trips, they talk to me and I do it for them. I usually give them options for each of the resort level. Then I break it down into no DDP and all the way through DlxDDP, and then with and without the tickets options of park hoping and water parks. Usually by the time they are done reading all of their options, they think I need to be commited.

If it's a cell for crazy people that price WDW trip scenarios, then count me in as well. Maybe our cell can be the Cinderella suit.

We are getting quite the list now I think I got everyone added. I am very tired though so look at it and let me know if yours isn't correct. I used to always do this at work on my lunch but I can no longer get on the DIS at work - they blocked the website So I am not able to update it as fast as I would like.

Hello again Mrs. Grumpy,
I know you said I could book room only 499 days out, and then upgrade to a package if free dining comes out, which is ultimately what I am looking for.
I am looking into using AAA, as we will be driving and they have some benefits that appeal to me. What are your thoughts on this? I am a little leary giving up the control of the process of trying to change a booking to either add FD or a room discount. Do you think this is worth it, or should I just do the work myself?

I love the planning but I still use a TA (Dreams Unlimited). I have never had any issues and I plan on using them in the future. Not sure about AAA though.

Yes it is. I'm sure the closer we get to 2013, the longer the list will be.

Anyone know when the packages come out for next year? For some reason I was thinking it was about summer time? Since, we are less than 499 days until our trip, I know we can change the November 2012 package over to a January 2013 room only ressie. I would just rather wait and just do a date change to the package and not have to call back to change a resort only to a package.

That's sad that you can't see the DIS at work. I know my DH (an IT guy) could find ways around that, but I would suggest it. They used to block the World of Warcraft sites that he would read at his last job, and he would just find a new work around each time. One of my favorite parts about getting a break from school, is that I have more time to DIS.

I talked to our youngest DS about what he wanted to do for his birthday and he said that he wants to go to Legoland and this new Aquarium at the Grapevine Mills Mall (the only local mall I really go to any more). He still loves legos and loves building things with them, so while at Legoland, we'll let him buy what he wants for a present. Then I was going to buy him a cake from a girl that I grew up with. She is a full time working mom, with a young daughter and a band new baby boy. For fun she decorates cakes and they look so good. (She also makes all of her own baby food and makes Bento boxes for her daughter lunches every day.) I wanted to buy one from her, but he doesn't want a cake. He wants milkshakes. We'll do that this weekend. Then next weekend, my DH is taking me to see the movie "The Devil Inside" and I hope to see Beauty and the Beast in 3D. Since the movie theatre has dine-in options, we may do that or use gift certificates that I got for Christmas for Olive Garden or Cheesecake Factory.

I have ones for % off vs. free dining and rack rate.. and if we have the dining plan where we would eat and what we would pay oop and if we have the qs and if it was all oop. And just when I think I have priced out everything I can I have a bright idea and need to price out something else.. lol

Very true. Hopefully, they will announce some discount before I pay the trip totally off, or at least before my 45 day pay off date. What I think I'm going to do is figure out all possible discounts and what would be the greatest savings. Then I'll pay that amount to Disney and put the rest, in order to pay off the trip without discounts in a savings account.

Where do you live? We have several in our area. The one we are going to for my bday has two types of dine-in theatres in it. There is the normal dine-in, where there is no age restriction. At the cinema suits, you have to be a minimum of 21. The chairs are these big red leather recliners, that go back all the way to a laying down position. There are little table areas between every other seat and at the end of each rows for your food. Then there are little trays that you can put across your lap for your food.

Cheesecake Factory is so good!! My favorite thing is the red velvet cake cheesecake. The Godiva chocolate cheescake (and martini) and really good. It's just too rich and it takes me like a week to eat one slice.

Yes, I think it will take the entire year to plan our trip. Especially since we are planning on driving.

I have the same problem with my DH. I so make him talk about it some. When he protests about talking about it at all since it's so far away, I just tell him that I have to listen to him talk about World of Warcraft hunter talk so he has to listen to my Disney talk.
