THAT WAS FRIGHTENING!!!!!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

"Yes we can!" sell plates to people who will use their hard-earned welfare money to purchase a cheap-o plate and it'll sit on a dresser gathering dust until they have no clean dishes in the house because they used insulin money for something other than dishwashing liquid and so they have to grab it and use it for chicken nuggets and then bo gets ketchup on his face; not just regular ketchup but equate ketchup from walmart of all places!
It'd be a sad ending for something so promising. *sniff*

THAT WAS BEYOND BELIEF HILARIOUS!!!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Alright, y'all are going to have to stay on top of some the nutcase OSers. I'm leaving to attend my Mom's retirement celebration that her coworkers are putting on for her. She's retiring next week after 40+ years of teaching elementary school.

Wow! Congratulations to your mom!

I now have a new rule. I only read back three pages per day!:lmao:

My thoughts:

Al Franken is an idiot.

You all have very cute puppies.

A sense of humor is a good thing.

Anyway, I took my daughter to Chick-Fil-A. To make a long story short, she streaked through Chick-Fil-A after going potty. :scared1: Fortunately, it was after the lunch rush so the place was fairly empty, but still.

She raised me, didn't she? ;)

Wow! Congratulations to your mom!
Thanks. :goodvibes Naturally I am very very proud of her. I'm so glad that this day has come, and now she and Dad will have lots of time to fully devote to things they love to do together.
Wanna know what they did together last year? They started (from scratch) a volunteer tutoring program which is now a ministry of their church. I guess Mom will keep on teaching and loving kids, just not drawing a paycheck. ;)

I like your rules, and gosh, that had to be adorable with your DD. So cute!

ah...the freedom of youth....

Who is using welfare money to buy plates??? :confused3

You know they are on welfare, how?

How do you know that they are not on welfare? I spoke to a friend, I use to work with her in social work, and she knows two families who sold their food stamp money so they buy Obama stuff or even drugs. I have also seen people abuse their welfare to buy things or drugs. So it can happen and happens more than people think.

Yup, it does. I got an education about that years ago in my sister's old neighborhood. My sister lives on disability, so she doesn't usually live in the greatest neighborhoods. One "payday" I was at her house and she showed me out her front window and narrated what was going on. Ten people line up at the row of mailboxes, shifting around, looking annoyed and waiting for the mailman to get there with their food stamps. Mailman gets there and they all descend on him, practically ripping the mail out of his hands. Mailman leaves, half the group all go into the same house and come out five minutes later and rush home. I was  . My sister tells me they just took their food stamps and bought pot. So I ask her how she knows this and she tells me to ask her neighbor's daughter...the local teenage busybody who knows everybody's business. So I ask her and she says "Oh yeah. That guy sells eighths for $50 in food stamps." One of the reasons, I presume, that they went to the EBT card here. But even that can be abused. My best friend is a grocery checker at a store two blocks from a particular bar. She has a couple of customers who come in when they get their EBT credit and buy nice steaks. Other customers have told her that they see those customers down at the bar selling the steaks at a discount, then using the money to buy alcohol (and likely drugs too). Yeah, it happens. There's a whole barter system for abusing food stamps.

.

Hey, who do y'all this vote was intended for?
plymouth1.JPG

Al Franken is challenging this ballot.

I caught a little of Glenn Beck's show today and they were discussing this. They were reading an article about Franken challenging ballots and read a quote from Franken's attorney. The attorney said that the whole voting process is flawed in that it favored Norm Coleman from the start because Coleman voters were more likely to be higher educated people that were used to taking tests like the SAT where you have to fill in circles to mark your answers. He said that Franken voters were being disenfranchised because of this.

Have we really come to this? You just know that Franken will win this in the end by any means they can both legal and illegal.

:sad2:

maybe we should start having voting classes for all those disenfranchised "people" who can't figure out how to fill in a circle. it could be a five day course, from 9 - 4, and it could cover the filling in of circles of all sizes using crayons, pencils, magic markers, and ball point pens. that would be in the morning. in the afternoon, they could advance to coloring in other shapes, beginning with ovular shapes.

now i'm not sure, but it seems to me if you can't figure out the "fill in the darned circle" thing on your own, that perhaps you can't understand what you're even voting for, but maybe that is evil, vile, hateful, and bigoted. dunno.

Oh PULEEEEZE! Seriously? We were taking those tests in grade school. Besides, what is unclear about the mark not being anywhere near Al Franken's name? Are his voters being disenfranchised because they can't understand that you want to mark the oval next to the name of the person you want, and they are culturally or educationally predisposed to think that you are supposed to mark the name ABOVE the guy you want to vote for? What a bunch of hooey.

LakeAriel's taking the welfare posts from this thread to another thread. You guys have really ticked her off with this one. :lmao:

(Hi LakeAriel :wave2: I think the original post was a joke but since you had to comment on it; it's turned into an actual discussion on this thread.)

I've read grocery store cashier's stories of checking out a person on welfare that had a whole cart full of junk food and stuff and then baby formula and diapers. When the total came out to be more than what was on the card, they'd put back the baby formula and keep the junk. :sad2:

So many of these types of stories that I've read before. It's pathetic. And now to find out that some of them have an actual bartering system set up? And some are able to buy drugs with it? :sad2:

So, is Franken's attorney saying that Franken's supporters are so stupid that they can't even read his name? Because, it's just plain common sense to somehow mark the name of the person that you are voting for. No one needs to have taken the SAT's in order to know that. And I agree with others, you take these types of fill in the circle next to your answer choice standardized tests in public schools beginning in the 3rd grade.

That's the lamest excuse ever and an insult to Franken's supporters by Franken's own attorney.

maybe he's talking about people who dropped out of school before third grade.
