Morning all,
What do y'all think of Hildabeast as SoS? I think it's a risky move for the old girl. I'm imagining that The One will be looking to "ask her to step down" after a couple of years, thus neutralizing her for any future political runs. I think it's a set-up, so he can be done with the Clintons once and for all. And then where does she go? The post-SoS gig hasn't exactly been friendly to Madeline Half-bright, has it? She's been flailing around for relevancy ever since. Will Hill be happy being a third-string pundit on PMS-NBC in a few years?
I have to think that she must have worked a deal to agree to campaign for H --- either a cabinet post or SCOTUS. And I think, when John Kerry's and Bill Richardson's names were put out there for SoS, she must have leaked her name, too.
When I think of Kerry or Richardson as SoS, HC sounds really really good.
Have FUN!! We just got back last week and had a great time.
DebbieandDroo, I need that shirt. Where did you find it?Tina
Here's the link to that T-shirt --

Hey, over on the OS thread they're comparing GWB to Ahmadinejad and suggesting that Obama needed Secret Service protection when he visited Bush at the White House. Ummm, that's when they aren't lamenting all the "hate" on this site.
Do they realize that GWB needed SS for HIS meeting with H, too? That this is standard for both of them now??!??!?!
I agree. But my gut tells me that HC is no dummy. she has to be aware of this. I think this is an interesting political dance, and I can't wait to see what happens. I just can't see Hillary making a move that would hurt her politically.
If she does take SoS, can you imagine the fireworks between her and MO? Not to mention the fact that most of H's staff are previous Clinton appointees -- Dick Morris called it a recipe for helplessness on H's part.
I call it a recipe for great entertainment.
i agree...something like this anyway. especially newcomers who may not have been receiving accurate information in their country's media. you can vote AFTER you have taken numerous u.s. history and u.s. government courses and passed. and only after being here for a minimum of 10 years and AFTER giving up citizenship to another country. i know this is wildly unpopular thinking, but if you vote poorly, you then dislike the results, you get to escape to your home country? no! you vote and stay here to deal with the results. (crawling back to hide behind something now...)
Ann Coulter says that women shouldn't have been given the right to vote - hormones and voting booths are not a winning combination.
Our two "must watch" Christmas (excuse me... "Winter Holiday") movies are "Christmas Story" and "Christmas Vacation".
I haven't seen The Ref. Maybe I'll put it in the Netflix queue.
I need to try The Ref, too.
Besides the CB Christmas Special, Rudolph, et al, my staples are some oldies but very goodies ...
The Lemon-Drop Kid [from the 50s with Bob Hope]
The Man Who Came to Dinner [from the 40s with Bette Davis]
Desk Set [from the 50s with Katherine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy]
The above 3 are pretty funny - but I have to watch It's a Wonderful Life to get a good seasonal cry.
I read yesterday that Christmas Vacation has earned the most money in DVD format than any other Christmas flick - even more than IAWL! What's up with that?!?!?
