Welcome, Henry!

another delicious irony about their claims against religious people - a good portion of folks who voted H in are religious - the black community is very religious as is the hispanic ... if it weren't for them along with some of the other unforgiveably uninformed evangelical white community, H would not have been elected. Bread meet butter...
Prop 8 in CA passed because of black voters 70-30. I think they forget that most blacks go to church and believe deeply in Jesus Christ.
Wonder if they're going to start calling them bigoted, hateful, intolerant, stupid...all the names we've been called for the past how many years?

such as the Prop 8 protesters in California interrupting church services and sending gay couples up to the altar to kiss while shocked parishioners — and their children — look on.
:scared1:

This came from my latest email from The National Black Republican Association and I find it right on the money...

THE END OF WHITE GUILT

White Guilt Emancipation Declaration

We, black American citizens of the United States of America and of the National Black Republican Association, do hereby declare that our fellow white American citizens are now, henceforth and forever more free of White Guilt.
This freedom from White Guilt was duly earned by the election of Barack Hussein Obama, a black man, to be our president by a majority of white Americans based solely on the color of his skin.
Freedom is not free, and we trust that the price paid for this freedom from White Guilt is worth the sacrifice, since Obama is a socialist who does not share the values of average Americans and will use the office of the presidency to turn America into a failed socialist nation.
Granted this November 4, 2008 - the day Barack Hussein Obama was elected as the first black president and the first socialist president of the United States of America.

As a white person who has had her fair share of racist beatings as a child (2 years of it), I hereby accept an absolution of guilt for atrocites that my family never committed. :goodvibes

Oh, yes, The Obama Ohanas and their intolerance.

I just read back through a few pages, and I don't see that anyone has posted this yet, and it seems to be on message, given the previous few posts:

I have seen this type of anger on both sides of the coin, unfortunately.
I just remember a woman posting a thread about her daughter who attended a Catholic school who was called into the headmaster's office and hit on the head by another student for being pro Obama.

I do not know where you are all from, but where I am from the hate for Obama lovers was and still is strong. It is overt. I know there are radicals on the left, but they also exist on the right.

Just found this thread - so happy to join my fellow conservative DIS'ers!

Welcome!!

Okay, so far I've filed 2 years of office paperwork (yay!) and cleaned out the pantry (yay!). DH has painted the ceilings of two rooms (yay!)

Still have a ton of work to do, but I think I may call it a night. The Barbie bomb has been cleaned up a bit but the Legos are still a disaster. :)

Have a good night everyone!

Sounds like a successful day...:thumbsup2

I haven't caught up with all the posts, but I wanted to post about my guy.
He's 26, never married. He's a conservative.
But, he's had some major medical problems.
He is a 2 time brain tumor survior, he's also had 2 mini strokes, and an anyresuem (sp)
Hes one of the sweeest guys ever,
He loves Disney and is a CM
He has NEVER had a girlfriend.
I would love someone to meet him and find out how great he is.

He sounds like a sweetheart. I've mentioned my friend from elementary school before who lives in Celebration now. She was a CM for about a year before focusing on other things; first she was a Splash Mountain CM then I think she worked for the Cruise Line. She and her husband are devout Christians, and I'm pretty sure they have a lot of Christian friends in the area. You want me to ask her if she knows anyone?

He saounds like a sweetheart! Where does he live? We can start the Conservative Love Connection!

:rotfl2: This thread is turning more into a dating service than a political thread! BTW, nanner, do you have a picture of said law student? I'm curious as to what he looks like. Forgive my brief shallowness. ;) :lmao:

MM, I've found some mags since that last request of yours --

Townhall - once a month -- http://magazine.townhall.com/reagan
Newsmax - another monthly -- https://www.newsmaxstore.com/nm_mag/nov08.cfm?promo_code=291F-1
World Magazine - weekly -- http://www.worldmag.com/
Fusion [Glenn Beck] - monthly -- http://www.glennbeck.com/content/magazine/
Weekly Standard -- weekly -- http://weeklystandard.com/
National Review -- monthly -- http://www.nationalreview.com/subscribe/nr.p
For some reason, I randomly started receiving National Review when I was in college. Never paid for it, but I'm thinking maybe someone I knew bought me a subscription? I got it for about 2 years before it finally stopped coming. I liked it, but that was several years ago.

Oh, I know Jackson won't go away, but the American people are now completely over his schtick and all the other race hustlers' games. America elected a deeply unqualified president — the most inexperienced president we've elected in most people's lifetimes — and many of them voted for him as an act of racial contrition, to put their white guilt to rest once and for all. They won't be bullied and shamed a second time. Jesse Jackson knows this. That's why he's flailing around trying to find some kind of relevancy for himself. He won't find it. Again, the big unintended consequence of Barack Obama's win was that it was Jesse Jackson's loss — and it's a permanent loss. I mean, what's he gonna do — climb up on some stage with President Obama and start lecturing us about American racism? Puh-leeze. That dog don't hunt anymore. Game over, Jesse. Game over.

This reminds me of one of Jesse's more pathetic moments of late. Last year he and Rainbow PUSH decided they wanted to make a big stink about my team, the Braves, not having enough black players to their liking. Reasoning was "Well, Atlanta has a high black population, so there should be more blacks on the team." Clearly they didn't bother to notice the fact that Atlanta is more of a football and basketball town in the first place. They even had a meeting with the GM. It was so ridiculous because they were using examples of trades from the mid-90s as why the team didn't "want" black players. The main beefs were with the Justice trade and the Jermaine Dye trade. Justice was traded for Kenny Lofton, also a black player. Dye was traded for a white 2nd baseman and Michael Tucker, a black outfielder. And yet they pointed to those two trades as why the Braves were racist. Brother.

I was told by a liberal relative, in all seriousness, that if 'they' would change it to the Ten Suggestions, instead of the Ten Commandments, then he would be a Christian. :sad1:

Is it bad to admit that I read this and laughed? Doesn't work that way. And for Pete's sake, most of the Ten Commandments are laws anyway. Sigh.

I know a lot of you have talked about Christian intolerance and how some on the fringe left make fun of Christianity and Judaism in particular, and/or scream about us being zealots. I'd really suggest you read Ann Coulter's book Godless. She makes a, IMO, very compelling argument that for some on the fringe left, liberalism essentially is a religion. It's a "Godless" religion, but a religion nonetheless. She also argues that the public schools and colleges are the tools through which the "religion" is indoctrinated onto others, thus making them no better than the people they claim are forcing Judeo-Christian values on everyone. The main part I'd warn about though is where she rips into the 9/11 widows who bashed Bush on TV all the time; I didn't like what they were doing either, but I also recognize people handle grief differently. I'm not going to judge people on how they handle their husbands' deaths. So, I didn't like that part of the book at all. But the rest of it is very interesting.

It's unacceptable on either side, especially from children.

does anybody else find it a tad inappropriate for O to be making public addresses that sound like mini state of the unions? especially when we still have a president in office who is also making a public address?

YES! I was commenting on that a few days ago. I am finding it presumptuous, egomaniacal, and definitely inappropriate. The man needs to chill out and wait his turn. I swear he's hoping GW will just say "Oh that's okay, Barack, you can just have the keys right now and I'll step down."

i hereby decline any such concept that guilt is, or should be, related to one's color merely for the fact that one is a certain color. i decline the notion that one race might proliferate the concept of existence of such a notion as it pertains to any other race, and i decline, further, any such freudian projectionism.

What you have just described is what Jesse Jackson does for a living. It's called "the shake-down." He and Rainbow PUSH find a business or organization with deep pockets, they manufacture false allegations of racism, and then they threaten the business/organization with protests, boycotts, threats to incite riots, and negative attention about their "racism" from a willing media accomplice to the shake-down. See, the Braves were a good target because they've got money. Countless businesses have just written Jackson's group a big fat check to make them go away, but more and more they're telling Jackson to take his bogus shake-down and pound salt. After Obama's election, there will be even fewer businesses willing to pay off Jackson's extortion on trumped up racism charges. He's got to be worried big time.

I'm glad you mentioned Godless as that's one of the books I was thinking of getting from the library. I need to finish 1776 by David McCollaugh (I think I spelled his name right) first and then I'll get Ms. Coulter's book. Thanks for the review.

Okay, NOW I'm going to bed. :)

SERiously!!!! he reminds me of the kid in high school who was always smart alecy and in desperate need to be the center of attention. i never cared much for that kid.

I'm glad the history teacher talked to the kids and showed them the experiment, hopefully it opened their eyes.

I'm glad the results were shared and talked about with the entire class!

Agreed on both parts... unacceptable, and yeah we want pics! We can help set up all of our single Conservatives!

I read some of those pages. I felt ill afterwards.

I'm adding Ann Coulter's book to my Christmas list!

Sad to say, I liked Urkel a lot better than I like Obama.

I like Urkel better too.

How about "The Twelfth of Never"-they'll never call them names because it isn't pc. Oh, they'll think it but they'll never say it.:rolleyes1

No no no. Get with the program, bigot! You know you didn't vote bo simply because of skin color!

:lmao:

I popped in there and saw that, too! It was like "Over on the Conservative thread they are so hateful.…Don't you hate Christians? Religious people just make me sick.…Organized religion is for losers.…aren't they just hateful idiots? …Joe the Plumber is stupid!…I hope Joe LIEberman gets what's comin' to him!…Those people are wackjobs!…Anyway, aren't the people on the Conservative thread just so filled with hate. I just don't understand it…"

Honestly, I read that and laughed so hard. It's just…delusional. And like someone else said on here, why aren't the Obama supporters happier? Could it be that they see their guy setting up a 3rd Clinton presidency, making it clear he hasn't a clue how to govern and needs to bring in some experienced grownups? Could it be that he's going to keep the ("impeachable") Bush terrorist programs in place? Could it be that he's now hedging on tax cuts, Gitmo, pulling out of Iraq? Could it be that the stock market has plunged, plunged, plunged since his win was announced?

What I see in Obamaland is a whole bunch of really nervous people having this slow and painful awakening: Oh crap. I'm gonna be stuck defending one screw up after another from this guy for the next 4 years, aren't I?

Well, yes. Yes you are. And we'll be right there to say (everyone together now): It's Obama's fault! :rotfl:

:thumbsup2
