Help -- do I have to sign up to listen to music? I have clicked and clicked and clicked and nothing seems to be happening?

Hiya Debbie. No, you don't have to sign up to listen, just to be able to request music. Here's how to listen:

1. Go straight to the homepage.
2. If you have Windows Media Player, click on the icon for it next to the area that says "Requests 96k." This should open up your player. It'll buffer for a bit, and then it'll start to play.

If you have slow internet, try one of the lower speeds. If you don't want to hear the requests station, try the Scheduled feed or the Background music feed. They also play a continuous loop of CA's Soarin' ride, and Star Tunnel, whatever that is. :confused3

Let me know if that works.

i think you should be able to listen as a guest....on the left, where you see "requests 96, requests 64...", try clicking on the number 96 and you should see some icons underneath...try clicking on the windows media player icon (arrow in the circle). for me that brings up the player which then connects and starts playing.

if that works, you can then go back to the main window and on the left side, click on "now playing"...i don't always recognize what i'm hearing and like to know.

one other super neat thing they have done is with their "skins". they will start to change automatically...right now i see one with the monorail scooting around and sparkles where i move my cursor. they also have an adventureland one and when you move the cursor, it plays the "donka donka" sounds you hear there, and they have a haunted mansion one and the ghosts scream! what a hoot!

I tried this but nothing happened - my WMP popped up then suddenly disappeared. I've looked at their FAQ --

Q: I don't want to get winamp! I love my Windows Media Player
A.1:
1) Open WMP
2) click on FILE
3) click "OPEN URL"
4) under the "open" section, type the URL for the file size you want. (http://129.79.9.25:8000/ for 128k http://216.176.96.16:8000/ for 24k)
5) click "OK"
6) stream will take a moment to connect to the server, then will automatically start to play....

A.2: I have found a cute little program that will convert a .pls file into an .asx file. http://weblogs.asp.net/jgalloway/archive/2004/04/08/109672.aspx

I'm not sure what all that means?!?!?!

donalds1fan per chance?

Yup! How'd ya know it was me? :lmao:

Did you try my directions? I had some issues getting it to work as well at first the other day. It kept opening up ITunes on my computer for whatever reason.

k...that's a different way to open the speed of streaming you want. if you're on their home page, click file, open, and you can type in the url information they gave you. sounds as though they think that'll make it stick.

Yup! How'd ya know it was me? :lmao:

Yeah, this one is opening up my Yahoo! music account ... then tells me I can't use it. Weird.

[sigh] it's that rascally George Bush's fault, I'm sure....

I'll try again tomorrow - maybe the moon's phase will deflect some of that evil anti-Disney music power of his...

Good night!

THAT'S HILARIOUS!!!! i figured since there were scads of posts by somebody whose i.d. contained "donald" it must be you. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

That is one of my very favorite moments of the campaign....I pretty much fell in love with sweet Piper and Trig right then and there....
Me too!:lovestruc It was soooo sweet... the shot of her "kitty lickin'" Trig's hair.

The OS..huh..trashing a child for playing dress up? Are we supposed to be suprised? Don't we remember what they did to Bristol? Sarah is in deep under the skin and in their minds. The more they hate on her....the more the right will LOVE her.

As far as Piper carrying Trig.. I am a mother of four. My kids carried their brothers and sisters around just fine. The ones judging.. probably don't have children. They may just want to find one more thing to criticize Palin over. As I said, she's deep, deep into their psyche.

This is random, but I think it was FFM who posted the link to Subsonicradio the other day (where they have all of the Disney theme park, resort, etc. music). :

Is FFM, me? Do I have my very own acronym?! I can't take credit for the link, I didn't post it, but I love having an acronym of very own!!!

If you want, though, you can call me Hil, all of my friends do :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

OMG!!!

Sorry if this has already been posted but I haven't had time to catch up on the thread.

Everyone really really really needs to listen to this youtube audio clip from Rahm Emanuel:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cfV8iXiB9Xg

 :faint:
Doesn't matter if take a train or are in barracks? That sounds creepy in of itself. Sounds like the old photos from WWII.

Exactly what is this 'civilian' security force going to do? This just stinks to high heaven folks. There was a woman talking about it on Bill Bennett this morning, she grew up under Fidel Castro and said it sounds EXACTLY like living under Castro was. She is very scared for our country now (and so am I).

Of all the things H. has said he's going to do, the national security force scares me the most. Why is this needed? What will he do with it? Who will it be made up of? I think I know the answers to those questions and they are scary. How serious is he about this?

Just popping in for a moment but thought I would update:

JACOB IS HOME!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm exhausted. I only got about an hour of sleep last night at the hospital so I'm gonna go nap while he's asleep...only 1 1/2 hours till I gotta go feed him again.

I've been getting in all the snuggling that I missed the first 5 weeks of his life today. He's barely been out of my arms since yesterday :)

Oh--just thought I would add that I just love Sarah Palin even more after wathching her interviews on Greta's show Mon and Tues. I'm envious that she can manage 5 kids, being governor...and there were no dirty dishes in her sink...heck, her whole kitchen was spotless. Totally not fair, but I love her anyway.:rotfl:

WOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOO!!! :cool1:  :yay: :dance3: :woohoo: That's the best news I've read on this thread all day! How wonderful!

I am. I'm posting some on Subsonicradio and here at the same time, heh.

Plus I need to finish my message to Sarah for blestmom's scrapbook.

Somebody please give me a lesson how to use Subsonicradio. I'm kind of lost. :confused3 How do you pick the different threads? Is it supposed to open on iTunes? Feel free to send me a PM and help out a technologically challenged mom...

So, once again I was lurking on the Obama thread. Their newest victim? Piper Palin! Why? Because there's a video of her walking around her kitchen wearing what are clearly her mom's high heeled shoes. They're all predicting that, because she's a 7 year old who likes to play dress-up, she'll be pregnant by the time she's 16! I've honestly never heard such rude and crude things about a child!

That is honestly one of the most ridiculous things I have ever heard.:sad2:

Also, apparently there's a video of her carrying her little brother around, and it looked "unsafe". What's wrong with her carrying the baby?

I've got 5 kids. By the time #4 and #5 came along, you are pretty laid back about childrearing. I'm sure Mom and Dad are watching to make sure everything is okay.

they're fidiots.
i cracked up during the debate when they showed piper holding baby bro, straightening out his hair, then licking her hand to make the hair stay in place! HA HA!!! loving big sis...:lovestruc

That was so precious.:goodvibes

JB, I'm so excited for you! Welcome home Jacob! :cool1:

But you've observed one from a mile off? ;)

In my opinion, this is the ONLY way to observe on. If you are not a mile off when it starts, get there ASAP. :lmao:

And a belated welcome, CCT. I thought you'd been around here before now too. See how observant I am...

Yeesh, you guys. It took me all day (off and on of course) to catch up with you guys! Tomorrow evening we have swim lessons...and if you keep it up at this rate you all will have polished off this thread and started another by the time I get home! Well okay that might be stretching a bit. But not much!

Now this is funny, Found this Washington DC Craigslist ad on another board :lmao:

In a search of a room in DC so that you can spend Jan. 20 standing in the bitter winter cold with thousands of like-minded souls watching the historic transfer of power from one Harvard grad to another? Look no further.

Me: Heartless, greedy right-wing oppressive type looking to make a buck.

You: Obama's election was Christmas/your first kiss/May Day all wrapped into one. You dutifully wore his button -- which you have yet to remove -- contributed money to his campaign from your non-profit job and chanted "yes we can" as if it were the 11th commandment. A strange void now exists in your life and -- like an old hippie looking to recapture the spirit of Woodstock -- you are undertaking a pilgrammage to Washington for one last gulp of the Kool-Aid.

Along with my bedroom you will have access to the house's many amenities including cable television (not that you watch much TV) for viewing Keith Olberman's latest unhinged rants and CNN in high-def. Wireless internet means that the Huffington Post and DailyKos are only a click away on your MacBook. American flags and other patriotic paraphanelia in the room can be removed upon request.

The house is located in the diverse neighborhood of Adams Morgan with people of many different skin pigmentations that will allow you to revel in your tolerance. Rest assured, however, that this diversity does not extend to ideology and that you are sure to march lock-step with the prevailing sentiment ensuring that your most strongly held beliefs remain unchallenged.

Easily accessible subway and bus stops will help ensure a minimal carbon footprint while fair trade coffee is never more than a few steps away at any number of independently-owned establishments. Nearby non-chain bookstores similarly mean that tomes such as Mao's Little Red Book, Chomsky's latest masterpiece or additional copies of The Audacity of Hope can be easily purchased either for yourself or as early holiday shopping.

Rather than state a price I am requesting that you bid on this fabulous opportunity to ensure profit maximization on my part so that I can better weather the Bush Recession.

Oh-my-freakin-gosh. Can the OS get any more pathetic? I ran around in my mothers heels and played dress-up when I was a kid around that age. By their logic I should have been pregnant by 16? Oops. Didn't happen. I guess I never got that memo.

Wanna job in the Obama administration? Now he's worried about source of personal embarrassments or conflicts of interest? NOW?!?!?!

:lmao: All you can do now is laugh.

You guys know that I didn’t support Bush in 2004 – couldn’t stand the guy (although now that I’m actually learning more about what is truly happening and not just listening to sound bites from the left any longer, I’m beginning to respect him more). But in 2004 I voted for Kerry; I couldn’t stand Bush and I was furious that we were in a war based upon lies. But, even feeling like that about him back then, when he won I didn’t fear for our country’s future like I do now facing an Obama presidency. The guy has only been elected for a week and already we’re getting a tiny glimpse of how bad it is going to be under his ruling. He’s trying to move fast and it’s going to be scary just how much he can get done with the Dem’s being in control of both the Congress and the Senate. I pray that in 2012 the Republicans get complete control of all three branches just to undo what the Dem’s do to us over the next four years. Then I want it to even back out with no one party in complete control. I don’t agree with one side having complete control. This is why we have three legislative branches; to try to prevent this type of thing from happening.

How can you judge an innocent little girl by how she's playing? :sad2: This is why I can't look there any more.

And it sounds to me like the one's judging are part of the "Perfect Parents Who Have Perfect Kids" club. Of course, it doesn't help that it's SP's parenting skills in question. She should be as perfect as MO, dontcha know!

Grog- LMAO at that Craigslist ad, that needs to be in the Best Of Craigslist !
