Hi all. I'm very new to this thread. I think I posted a couple of times on the old one. But I'd love to join in now and then.

!

:wave2: Stick around -- it's going to be a long 4 years -- a very long 4 years. Camaraderie (not comrade -aderie) will get us through. Plus, we have good food and good times).

Another TENNESSEAN!!! YEAH- - you are in good company here - there's a bunch of us here!!

I absolutely adore Glenn Beck. I've been listening to him on the radio since 2002 and he's the only reason I keep subscribing to XM Radio in my car. His insight and sense of humor are the best of the talk show folks (IMHO).

Your welcome here anytime. Anybody that adores Glenn Beck can't be to bad!:)

HB -- you need to update your Beck sign to 2012. I say Beck and Hannity 2012 -- my kind of ticket.

Oprah now wanting to interview Sarah Palin. I hope Sarah tells Oprah were to stick it. I wouldn't go on her show if she was the only show.

Oh my dear lord -- someone make me turn the news off... a Caribbean nation is re-naming one of their mountains Mt. Obama --

pukey smiley please

Boy would that get the left's knickers in a twist!

:cool1:

First, tell Oprah to shove it hard and high.

Next, their knickers would be twisted so tight it would give them hemorrhoids so bad that a truckload of Preparation H wouldn't help. There'd be a run on donut cushions!!!

It's very telling, the world reaction. Our enemies celebrated and then began getting aggressive towards us. People, like the eastern Germans, who understand communism and socialism and have suffered under it all call us idiots for electing a man to move us in that direction. While we are not all idiots, because many of us on this thread saw Obama for what he was and refused to vote for him, we're still going to have to suffer from the decision that the idiots of this country made. Sadly, there were more idiots that voted this election than intelligent people.

It was very emotional....for me...going to east Germany. The difference between east and west is quite sobering. Americans are a bunch of whiny babies that sit around with their hands out. They have no idea what this man is about. I blame the MSM for presenting BO as a moderate dem. I had one poster say.."it's okay...we've had democrats in office before." They really don't have a clue.

I've missed so much today. I wasted too much energy about Palin and her bus. Frankly, I think Palin will be fine.

Now I am reading about mandatory service hours and hilter and remarks about seances and Nancy Reagan (BTW, how is she doing? Didn't she fall and break a hip about 3 weeks ago? You all know, I saw the Beach Boys 2 wks. ago in concert in Knoxville and they dedicated a song to her. A very sweet love song dedicated to her and Ronald Reagan. They really loved them and the opportunity to play at his 2nd inaguration.)

Did they really name a Mtn. after Obama? I'm hoping you all are kidding me.

I put the Ann Coulter quote in my sig. :thumbsup2
Yup, Adam's one of ours. And Zohan was pretty funny if a little crass.

Do you mind if I also use the Ann Coulter quote? Nothing like twisting the old knickers.

I've been over on the mandatory volunteerism thread. Very interesting. Very, very interesting... I don't think this is going to come out like people are thinking. I don't think it's going to be like the volunteerism things now that you have to do to graduate. I doubt they'll allow anything to do with the church and I have a feeling that you'll have to do it in one of the H programs. Sigh.

Oh boy, the change begins... Can't wait.

Since this sorta goes with our topic, I'm posting it here. I read the last part yearsago in a class and thought it'd never happen here. However, these days, I'm now wondering. It reminds me of the ol' frog in the pot of water who does not realize the water is heating up around him and about to boil.

~~~How Long Do We Have?
About the time our original thirteen states adopted their new constitution in 1787,
Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh ,
had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years earlier:
'A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government.'
'A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury.'
'From that moment on, the majority always vote for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.'
'The average age of the world's greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years'
'During those 200 years, those nations always progressed through the following sequence:
1. From bondage to spiritual faith;
2. From spiritual faith to great courage;
3. From courage to liberty;
4. From liberty to abundance;
5. From abundance to complacency;
6. From complacency to apathy;
7. From apathy to dependence;
8. From dependence back into bondage.'
I wonder if that guy will require that the kids do more volunteering in addition to what they do now? Most schools require some sort of volunteerism.
We home school and if that guy's plan passes, we will continue to home school. I do want her to go to high school next year so that she can participate in the social activities.
When was your mom there? When did you visit? My dh lived in Donn as a child (his father is Army) and remember when the wall came down.
Feel free. :thumbsup2
Thank-you!
I so remember this from junior high!! I'm going to copy and paste it to Word.
I shouldn't have ventured out. I am sad for our country. I don't understand why people want to give away their freedoms.
To many pages to read since I was here this morning. I know we have some friends and/or their loved ones here who are battling illness. You guys are in my thoughts and prayers. :grouphug:
Comrades, it's going to be a long 4 years. :rolleyes:
I think it has to be part of the NEA, otherwise how could so many be so stupid?
BTW, I just added that horrid poster who has 95 in his name to my ignore list. 2 people added in the last week. Both OS-I have never had anyone on ignore since I joined in my first incarnation in 2004.
Pray to God for strength to fight like hell to regain the vision our Forefathers had for our great country. Being a Conservative is very difficult...being a Liberal is simply a sell-out. God bless those in search for the country that we used to cherish and strengthen them in their battles.
I was talking to a friend who posts on the DIS about said poster. I won't post what we both think of him but I totally agree.
Someone....actually....said BO was a "gentleman" for apologizing to Nancy Reagan. A gentleman wouldn't have made such a snide remark to begin with.
