The consequences of having snowflakes

can you get it date and/or time stamped? Is there a neighbor nearby who can video it from their home? I would want another independent source of proof, just to cover all bases.

What the heck is a child that age doing with machetes? Seriously, what parent in their right mind thinks that this is an okay thing for their child?

This is not what I label as a precious snowflake.

This is a troubled youth with a "can't be bothered" parent.

I have asked myself that many, many times. My DH says they do. It doesn't help.

I have to agree, but I could see a Snowflake kid ending up like this if his parents thought he was too perfect to need discipline while he was younger. By the time they realize how terrible he has become, they might be too overwhelmed to even attempt to deal with it and they might just give up. Most of the Snowflake kids I have known have turned out spoiled and irresponsible, but I think it makes sense that some could end up violent instead. Of course this kid's parents could have been hands-off the whole time instead of treating him like a Snowflake. That probably would have the same result.

The mom tells him all the time what a "good boy" he is, how some people (meaning me) are rude and blind, and how the school misunderstands him.

In mommy's eyes he is a snowflake.

In mine, not so much.

This kid is bringing knives and machetes to the bus stop? Isn't that considered the school's jurisdiction, so even if he left them in his driveway, he is still bringing them on the school's property (so to speak).
OP, I think you need to video tape this and call the police. This is absolutely insane, there is no need to deal with the mother at this point, it is time for the authorities.

Ugh. Parents like that need to be punished just as much as their Snowflake is when he starts his life of crime. I actually feel sort of bad for the kid. Parents like that think they are protecting their child, when they are really making it almost impossible for the kid to fit in with the rest of the real world. Obviously there comes a point when the kid has to take responsiblility for himself and overcome the way he was raised (and fortunately I think most Snowflakes do) but it's awful that the parents are starting the kid out at such a deficit. It's their fault he has turned out like this. Frankly I think people like that should be horsewhipped - refusing to ever discipline your child and causing them to grow up into someone like that kid is child abuse, in my opinion.
