River: River nodded "I think that's a good idea" she said in a caring voice. She planned to tell Daniel everything after the professor made her announcement. Maybe this would be a good lead up.

Alex: Alex smiled hearing Nate but turned to Daniel as she walked in with Margo. "This morning I'm pretty tired but still good. How about you?" As Toby walked in Alex smiled at him but her expression turned to one of confusion seeing him lean against the wall. She walked over to him and asked with a worried tone," Are you alright Toby?"

Jack: Jack chuckled at Nate's joke and shook his head. "Sorry you were dissapointed. Maybe some other time you can get yourself some dinosaur stickers," He tried to joke. Hearing Max's reaction to Nate's joke he smiled slightly.[COLOR]

Daniel: Daniel smiled at Alex. "That's nice. I'm doing pretty good myself."

Max: Max gave River a wan smile. Dad, give me strength, she pleaded.

Toby: Toby looked up at Alex as she came over. He shrugged "yeah, fine" he said. He wondered if this counted as breaking his promise to Alex. He didn't feel like he did before, so maybe not. He wondered if he should just tell Alex, maybe she could help him.

OOC: should Toby tell Alex?

OOC: Hm. I don't know. On the one hand, I had a when but not a how or where for Alex to find out (she and Jack were going to find out at the same time - it has to do with today's surprise), but on the other hand this is a good opportunity for drama and plot acceleration. What do you think?

Max: "I hope so," she said. Then her stomach growled quite loudly. She put a hand on her face, looking quite embarrassed.

Daniel: "I think that's our cue. Come on guys, let's go eat breakfast already, I'm starving!" Daniel insisted, in an attempt to distract from Max's embarrassment.

Jack: Jack yawned and stretched before standing. "Well I'm hungry, lets get breakfast," He said walking down the stairs and to the kitchen.

Alex: Alex looked at Toby and tilted her head confused. "Is there something going on?" She asked curiously.

Toby: "okay" Toby said taking a deep breath "here we go" he began, speaking slowly "well, remember after parents night when you asked me if I wanted to go upstairs and I told you I would meet you there? Well, I saw Max leave, and I just thought it was weird, I can't really explain why. So, I followed her...she was really upset, she didn't see me but she kept running until she got to the top of that cliff you jumped off of earlier. And well, she picked up this rock" he paused "and, she started cutting herself" he started speaking faster "like really cutting herself, so I jumped out and stopped her, and she said she was using the pain to distract, I guess her dad's going back overseas, and she really upset. But well apparently her dad expects her to be perfect ever since her mom died and that's why Max acts out. And she told me her dad punishes her when she does, but not normal punishments Alex, I guess he humiliates her, or makes her hurts herself, like the first night here I guess she had to cut herself and River found her. And well, I don't even know what to do, she begged me not to tell, saying it would make stuff worse for her. But, I just don't know" he said waiting for Alex's response.

He felt awful, and hearing that he had been wrong coming from his best friend was harder than hearing it from Max. He understood now that he couldn't tell, and why. But it still bothered him.

Alex: Alex sighed quietly looking at her best friend sadly. "I'm sorry you have to hide now two secrets that arent yours and I'm sure it's getting real annoying. But really, you keeping these secrets make you a great person Toby," She said in an effort to make Toby look up at her or even just make him feel slightly better.
