Alex: Alex walked up the stairs and dropped on the couch taking a drink of her water. Placing her water bottle on the ground next to the couch she took her shell out of a pocket in her bathing suit and looked at it hoping for a spot where she can place a thread or rope. "I think I might make this an anklet instead of a necklace," She said taking a bit if her apple.

Toby: Toby sat down on the end of the couch leaning against the arm and feeling a little weaker again. "That sounds really cool" he said smiling slightly.

Alex: Alex smiled and nodded," You think? I hope it looks good. I only ever had one before but someone broke it because they said it was ugly."

Toby: Toby sat up straighter and his eyes widened "wow, that's horrible" he said.

Alex: Alex looked up from her shell to Toby and gave a small smile while shrugging. "Not really. He didn't like me and I made him mad so I should have seen it coming."

Toby: Toby smiled, "yeah but still." He sat up straight now.

Alex: Alex shrugged once again," Oh well. That was a year or two ago, it's in the past." She took another bite of her apple before humming an old pretty lullaby under her breath that she had always known. She didn't know where it came from but she always remembered a woman singing it to her when she thought if it but she didn't see the woman's face. Alex yawned slightly before smiling and continuing her humming.

Alex: Alex looked down at him and smiled, quitting her humming. "Well hello bub," She said chuckling slightly.

Toby: Toby looked up at her and smiled laughing slightly.

Alex: Alex shook her head smiling and continued to hum her lullaby, leaning against the couch. "Smile though your heart is aching, smile even though its breaking," She sang quietly before humming again.

Jack: Jack walked into the kitchen with his plate to put it away and wanting to ask what was taking Alex and Toby so long but when he walked in he saw no one. Confused, Jack put his plate away and looked up the stairs wondering if the pair were upstairs.

Alex: Alex stopped humming by smiling and then shrugged. "What are sisters for?" She said lightly.

Toby: Toby smiled "I love you" he said. He thought of his real sister and wished that they had anywhere near a relationship like this.

Alex: Alex grinned," Love you too." She thought of something for a second before getting up and running to her room, grabbing her suitcase from under her bed and grabbing a small wooden box with a ship carved onto the top. Sliding her suitcase back under her bed she ran back to the common room and jumped on the couch happily. "I wanna show you some things," She said with an excited glint in her eye.

Jack: Jack walked up the stairs to the common room and before he could fully walk in he heard Toby. He froze and waited, silently hoping another girl would speak instead of the girl he liked. When he heard Alex he let his teeth grind together firmly and walked back downstairs to the kitchen.

Alex: Alex grinned a little nervously but laid the box down in her lap. "This is the only thing I had with me when I was left at my first orphanage. There wasn't much in it but my birth certificate and a couple things." She looked down at the box once more and looked back up at Toby with a big smile. "I want you to see what's all in it."

Alex: "Absolutely," Alex said honestly. She looked down at the box and fiddled with the lock that kept the box closed before opening the box. Looking at the contents inside she smiled and looked back up at Toby happily. "I've always wanted to show someone all of this but I've never actually had anyone I trusted enough," She looked back at the inside of the box and took out a photo that was folded so you couldn't see the actual picture. "Wanna see?" She asked looking back at him and holding the photo in between her thumb and pointer finger.

Alex: Alex smiled at Toby before carefully un- folding the photo as not to rip it. Finishing, she held out the photo for Toby to see with a small smile. The photo was one of what looked like a brunette haired man in a hospital chair holding a newborn baby wrapped in a pink blanket, though the man's face isn't visible. The baby's eyes are open showing already bright green eyes with dark brown hair covering her head and her skin is very pale. "If you look on the back it says, 'Daddy with his little princess Alexandria.' That's my father holding me," She said wistfully.
