Alex: Alex smiled at Toby before carefully un- folding the photo as not to rip it. Finishing, she held out the photo for Toby to see with a small smile. The photo was one of what looked like a brunette haired man in a hospital chair holding a newborn baby wrapped in a pink blanket, though the man's face isn't visible. The baby's eyes are open showing already bright green eyes with dark brown hair covering her head and her skin is very pale. "If you look on the back it says, 'Daddy with his little princess Alexandria.' That's my father holding me," She said wistfully.

Toby: Toby reached out touching the edge of the photo gently. "wow" he said quietly and almost under his breath. He looked up at Alex not sure exactly what to think. He smiled at her, he was glad she showed him this. "thanks for showing me" he said sincerely.

Alex: Alex smiled and nodded her head before putting the photo down on the lid of the box. She grabbed another folded paper along with a medium sized photo and a bracelet with four charms on it; a sun, water drop, tornado and a fire. "That's my birth certificate, a charm bracelet they found with me and a, well," She smiled down at the photo before looking back up, " That's a picture of me when I was a year old at my birthday party with my mother." She held out the objects and looked at them as if they were gold, as if they were the most incredible things in the world. The birth certificate stated that Alex was born in Arizona to the couple Jessica and Damien Lynn. In the photo Alex was dressed in a frilly pink dress with straps that seemed to be held up by two small butterflies. Her hair is still a dark brown only a bit longer and her eyes are the same green but are squinted because of her laughing, showing very few teeth, at a woman tickling her. The woman has the same pale skin as Alex and her hair is the same white - blonde hair as Alex's is now but like the picture with her father, Alex's mother's face isn't shown because she wasn't facing the camera. "On the back it says 'Mommy and Alex getting ready for Alexandria's first birthday' in the same pretty cursive as the other photo. I'm pretty sure it's my mother's handwriting but I'm just guessing," Alex paused and added thoughtfully, " If it is my mother's we share the same handwriting in cursive."

Alex: Alex smiled and nodded her head before putting the photo down on the lid of the box. Toby: Toby listened intently to everything Alex had said. He couldn't help but wonder why Alex's parents had given her up since in these photos and by the writing on the back they seemed to love her so much. He couldn't imagine anyone giving up a child ever. He smiled as Alex finished.

Alex: Alex sighed and put everything back in the box before taking out one more piece of paper. "This is the last thing. It's a picture I drew when I was little in crayon," She said frowning. She un - folded a faded piece of paper showing a picture a small child drew. It showed a small house on fire and stick people running around outside. There seemed to be dark figures above the house making the fire and one of the figures was holding something that was crying and leaving the house. "I don't really know what this is but I never liked it since it reminded me of a nightmare I used to have almost every night. Now I rarely have that nightmare but I still don't like it very much, yet I still keep it." Alex shrugged lightly and put the drawing back away and closed the box.

Alex: Alex looked at Toby as he led her hand and smiled. "Well, there it is. You know pretty much everything about me. I may be forgetting some things but when I remember them I'll tell you," She said cheerfully already forgetting about the picture and the nightmare.

He took out his contacts and took his thick rimmed black rectangular glasses out of their case, and put them on. His hair was still flat against his head from getting it wet at the beach. He got his retainer from his dresser and slid it onto his teeth. He looked in the mirror and laughed slightly. Then he took a deep breath and opened the door. He stepped out of the room and smiled and shrugged at Alex.

He stepped out of the room and smiled and shrugged at Alex.

Alex: Alex grinned as Toby walked out and studied how he looked before nodding. "Well hello there good looking," She teased with a wink.

Toby: Toby laughed "thanks" he said honestly. He slid his retainer off of his teeth but left his glasses on knowing he couldn't see anything without them. "My mom loves my glasses, she says I look 'scholarly' it took me years to convince her to get me contacts" he said smiling.

Alex: Alex grinned," I like them too, but not because they make you look 'scholarly'. They look nice. And I've always been weirded out by contacts, I can never imagine putting something in my eye on purpose." She shuddered at the thought as if it were the worst thing.

Toby: Toby shrugged "you get used to it" he said. He hurried back into his room putting his retainer away, he was going to put his contacts back in but for some reason decided not to he left his glasses on and sat back next to Alex.

Alex: Alex smiled as Toby walked back with his glasses still on. She held her box and put it on the floor right next to the couch and laid back sighing. "I'm pretty happy right now," She said with a small smile.

Alex: Alex smiled wider and nodded her head. " Good, I was worried about earlier. I thought you were really upset and would stay like that," She said remembering how scared she was when she first saw him in the kitchen.

He was able to think about the incident more clearly now and said "I just let what Max said get to me, I've been trying so hard not to care what people think about me that I think it just built up when I realized I apparently still cared. When I was standing alone I just started to question everything, my mind was spinning and I couldn't stop it. The questions my mind was asking just kept getting worse and worse. I was doing everything to fight them off but I couldn't. It was like I was in a different world. If you hadn't come and brought me back into reality I'm scared to think about what my mind would have been asking."

You just have to tell yourself that people are going to think things of you but that doesn't matter, what matters is what you think of yourself and if you tell yourself that sooner or later you truly won't care what people think of you. I'm sorry that happened, I should have come sooner so you didn't have to go through so many of those questions. I just didn't know you were doing all of that."

Toby: "no, don't feel bad,you didn't know, how would you?" he said shrugging. "I really am okay now though, and I kind of felt it coming. So next time I'll let you know before it gets bad. I just thought I could handle it myself" he said embarrassed that he was wrong.
