Daniel: Daniel looked at the others with an apologetic glance and then turned to River. "Sorry River. They were getting on my nerves. That was Italian, translates roughly into 'shut up you idiot'. It's one of the nice things about learning languages from fellow students, they teach you the insults and swear words first, so later when some kid's teasing you about your pronunciation you can tell him to shut up in his own language."

Max: Max wandered to the beach a little ways from everyone else. Max was unsure of the strange feelings she was having. She knew anxiety, that was nothing new. But everything else - she'd blocked it out, if she had felt it before - for so long, she didn't recognize it. Was that - was that loneliness? She couldn't be lonely. Max was the lone ranger, the lone wolf. Shed been alone all her life. She couldn't be lonely. But then, she did somewhat fit in here. She'd actually acted like a friend to some. But now River was caught up with Daniel, and everyone else had moved on. Maybe that's what life is when a shy girl loses her mysteriousness. Max stropped, dropped to her kness, bowed her head even though she wasn't religious, and prayed:
"Dear Lord,
If I should die today, please take my soul to keep
I ain't looking for forgiveness, I know I won't get it
Lord, I got to ask a favor
And I hope you'll understand
'Cause I've lived life to the fullest
Let this boy die like a man
Staring down the bullet,
Let me make my final stand."

Okay, so she'd borrowed most of it from one of her favorite songs. But it was appropriate for her life and it was appropriate for a soldier, and she was a future soldier.

Then Max spotted a sharp piece of shell. She picked it up, studied it, and pocketed it. That would be useful.

Professor Collins: The professor smiled as they made it to the beach. To the north end, the beach sloped up to some cliffs. Towards the south, there were little coves. And in between was a long stretch of flat, butterscotch ciolored sand. "We're here. You can throw your stuff down wherever. There's plenty of sunscreen for everyone." She dropped four or five bottles onto the sand and started to find herself a good spot.

Toby: Toby smile genuinely at what Jack had said, he liked being referred to as brother and sister. Alex was like the sister he never had, and unlike his birth sister she actually seemed to care about him. Toby looked at Alex and replied "I only took a piece of it!" in a childish voice, then he broke character smile and looked down as his feet hit pure sand. He stopped and took his shoes off letting the sand touch his bare feet.

Alex: Alex laughed at Toby and grinned at the beach. She bent down, making Jack's arm fall, and took a handful of sand before giggling and standing straight. "This is amazing already!" She said excitedly before grabbing a bottle of sunscreen and applying some. Alex turned to Toby and Jack with a grin,"C'mon! Don't wanna burn right?"

Jack: Jack chuckled at both Alex and Toby before looking over the beach before turning to Toby. "We better listen to her, she'll probably put the sunscreen on us herself if we don't listen," He joked smiling.

Toby: Toby smiled "she probably would" he said taking the sunscreen from her and applying it.

River: River looked at Daniel and scrunched her eyebrows, "doesn't that seem a little...harsh?" she said, she didn't like Alex being called an 'idiot' even if she didn't know she was being called that.

Daniel: Daniel looked around. "Guess we're here. Think we should get sunscreen?"

Max: Well, here they were at the beach. Max kept back, she'd get sunscreen when everyone else was done.

Daniel: "It probably is, but I wasn't really thinking at the time."

Alex: Alex rolled her eyes playfully and laughed sarcastically,"Oh ha! You guys are so funny." She stuck her tongue out and finished rubbing in the sunscreen on her arm before turning to Max and grabbing another bottle,"Here you go Max."

Jack: Jack laughed before waiting his turn for the sunscreen. "You know we're hilarious," He teased her watching her roll her eyes and turn around, kicking off her converse.

OOC: Okay, so tell me honestly-

Do you think we need more school staff, or is the Professor enough? Yes I know there's only a few students, but she's the math, english, history and science teacher, the gym teacher, the principal/headmistress and vice principal, the counselor, the nurse, and the admissions officer. Does that seem a little outlandish, or is it just me?

Ooc: It is a little out there that one person can do all of that, even if she does have a super power. Maybe more staff would be more realistic but what classes or job would they have?

Max: Max took the bottle hesitently, saying, "Thanks." She zipped off her cover up and coated herself lightly in sunscreen. She handed the bottle from Daniel.

Daniel: Daniel took the bottle from Max. "Thank you Max." He put on the sunscreen.

Max: "Don't mention it," she muttered.

OOC: more staff would be more realistic, but then again this is a school for super powers. I'm not sure what the rest of the staff would do.

Ooc: It is a little out there that one person can do all of that, even if she does have a super power. Maybe more staff would be more realistic but what classes or job would they have?

OOC: I thought maybe if there was another teacher, they could teach a specific class, not gym but maybe one of the academics, or they could be a counselor or the nurse. The professor woould still need to be the admissions and the principal, but anything else maybe.

I did get an idea the other day, and maybe it's lame or unrealistic, but I wondered if it might be fun if some of the powered heroes that were Collins' old students came to the school to teach for the year or something.

Alex: Alex turned make around and smiled,"No problem." She quickly took her cover up off and placed it on the ground before placing her shoes on top. Alex looked around and smiled,"I could get used to a view like this. No, wait. Yeah, I'm used to it. I have to live by an ocean when I get older!"

OOC: that sounds like a fun idea, but it does add more characters which can be good or bad. I feel like we should just get through parents night first, and then maybe we could do that. :)

Toby: Toby pulled off his shirt and laid it next to Alex's cover up setting his shoes beside it. "isn't it beautiful" he said walking closer to the water an squinting into the sun.

Ooc: Actually, I like that idea. It would solve the staff problem and we could let the heroes give the students pointers or tips about controlling their powers or if they want to become a hero they could help them with that.

Toby: Toby pulled off his shirt and laid it next to Alex's cover up setting his shoes beside it. "isn't it beautiful" he said walking closer to the water an squinting into the sun.

Jack: Jack pulled his shirt off over his head along with removing his shoes and placed his things down in his own pile. He walked slowly to the water watching Alex and Toby for a moment, debating whether to say something or not.

Alex: Alex grinned and nodded her head walking near where the water rolled onto the shore,"It is. I wonder if the water feels as good as it looks."

OOC: Did you get that from Tangled?

Max: "It is pretty. Gosh, I haven't lived by the ocean since......" Max was about to say since her mother died, but faltered. Max was born in San Francisco and had lived there until her mother died. 'Well, that was a long time ago."

OOC: that sounds like a fun idea, but it does add more characters which can be good or bad. I feel like we should just get through parents night first, and then maybe we could do that. :)

OOC: I was planning on doing so after that. You are right, it ould complicate things.

Ooc: Actually, I like that idea. It would solve the staff problem and we could let the heroes give the students pointers or tips about controlling their powers or if they want to become a hero they could help them with that.

OOC: This is also true though. And if we all brought in just one, that's three positions covered.
