For those of you who are not reading my TR, the cast is just me and DH. We do not have the dining plan, but we do have the DDE card, which saves a ton of money!!! Our trip was March 17-23.

Here's a list of the places I will be reviewing : Artist's Palette, LeCellier, Kringla, Kona, Casey's Corner, Beaches and Cream, Boardwalk Bakery, Concourse, Sleepy Hollow, Cape May Cafe, Flatbread Grill, CS in MGM that I can't remember the name, Pizza Cart in Epcot, Rose and Crown, Boma, Earl of Sandwich, Goofy's Candy Company, Hess Gas Station(hehe), Crystal Palace

March 17

Artist's Palette at SS - This was mostly a snack as we had ADRs at LeCellier for dinner. But it begins the Cheesecake Tour! We got a bag of pretzels, a bottle of water and a strawberry cheesecake. The Cheesecake was #2 on my favorite list from the trip. It had a good flavor and the strawberry layer on top was quite tasty. The pretzels lasted us a couple days and were good enough that I bought more like it at the Confectionary later in the trip! Total - $6.67

LeCellier - Our ADR was at 5pm. We checked in around 4:45 and were seated within 5 min. We ate here last March and Dh has been dying to go back. Dh ordered the 14 oz. NY Strip well done and a Caesar Salad for an Appetizer. I got their chicken, although I don't remember the name of it. Dh enjoyed his food, although it wasn't quite as good as the last time. My chicken was really good. It had a great flavor. Personally, it's not my favorite kind of chicken...I like my meats dry unlike most people. It was in some sort of sauce on top of the mashed potatoes. I don't usually like to mix my entire meal into one thing. However, it was really really good anyway. So I didn't mind so much. We decided to wait on dessert so we could get a treat from Norway before Illuminations. We left full and happy. Total - $47, DDE Savings - $11.03

Kringla – I don’t have the receipt for Kringla, so no total on this one. We got the Strawberry Cheesecake and it was delicious as always. It’s one of our favorite treats at WDW. You should try it! #1 on my cheesecake list this trip.

Looking forward to the rest of your reviews. I love cheescake, too. Do you eat a flavor besides strawberry ? I prefer mine with some ( make that any ) kind of chocolate.

Dh likes the strawberry. I'm partial to plain or some sort of special kind, such as snickers or oreo or something like that. We get several kinds on this trip!

I'm hungry and looking forward to more reviews!

For what it's worth, I actually like plain cheesecake the best, with just a little bit of whipped cream. Yummy!!

Oh, I love cheesecakes too. I plan to break my diet the week we go and enjoy myself. I look forward to reading more.

Kona – Kona is one of our favorites, particularly mine for the Tonga Toast. However, this morning, my throat was quite scratchy and painful and I wasn’t sure if the sugar would scratch more and hurt. I debated other options, which sounded yummy too, but ended up going with the Tonga Toast anyway. Dh got French Toast with bacon and an egg. He liked his food here as always. The Tonga Toast did scratch my throat quite a bit, but it was good anyway and I ate about half of it and most of my ham. Total- 16.17, DDE savings - 3.79

Casey’s – The Tradition. Dh got a coke, I got a water, and we split corn dog nuggets and fries. This is one of our favorite things to eat at WDW. It’s wonderful. Total – 9.42

Hess Station – Best Hot Chocolate thing in the world…I mixed Hershey’s hot chocolate with a caramel flavored something and they were soooo good. Total 1.19

Boardwalk Bakery – Can’t find the receipt, but we split a chicken Caesar salad and a piece of cheesecake. The salad was pretty good, the cheesecake pretty blah.

Beaches and Cream – We got a chocolate shake to go. They put sprinkles on top and whipped cream and a cherry. Mmmmm….the sprinkles were my favorite part. Dh liked this a little more than me, since he’s a dark chocolate fan. It was really rich chocolate, so he loved it. I would have preferred a little less chocolate-ness to it, even though I love chocolate. Too dark and rich for me. I mostly licked the straw with whipped cream and sprinkles on it, and not so much of the shake. Total – 5.32

Oh I LOVE American cheesecake! I want some right now! Sadly the only thing you can get in Britain is naff horrible British cheesecake which is gooey and not baked and just ugh.

I'd kill for a cheesecake factory.

oybolshoi - I have been enjoying YOUR reports for awhile now. I'm so pleased you are enjoying mine!

Kath2003 - I wasn't aware that the UK had a different kind of cheesecake! How interesting. Sneak peek ahead, the best dessert we had was at Rose and Crown though! Chocolate Guinness Torte.....oh wow. Now that's a dessert!

Glad to see you tried a dessert besides cheesecake : ) .

Yummy! A cheesecake tour. :goodvibes I'm also enjoying hearing about the other things you had to eat, and I'm especially looking forward to hearing about that dessert at Rose & Crown. :)

Well, this might ALMOST get my husband to read the DIS (who am I kidding? He'd tell me to read and just book him to eat at the restaurants with the best cheesecake!)

But you really got me when you reviewed the Hess station!

I'm enjoying this a lot!

GeorgiaAristrocat - I hoped someone would get a kick out of the Hess Station ;) I just figured, it was technically part of what we ate. So why not?

Sorry for the cheesecake torture....it will end soon.

March 19 -
We started today with a tour, so no breakfast ADR. I ate some yogurt in the hotel, and knew I would starve by 11. So I bought some pretzels and peppermints in the confectionary. Wonderful snacks.

Concourse - Let me preface this with how wonderful this restaurant was on our last trip. We love that it's not too busy. THe last time, it was a near perfect lunch - DH had a delicious steak, I had a yummy sandwich, the onion rings were perfect and the butterfinger cheesecake was to die for. So we were quite happy about eating there again. Now to this trip. We had an ADR for 12:30, but checked in at 12 right after they opened and were seated immediately. All morning I had been smelling burgers at MK and really wanted something more than just a sandwich or salad like I usually get. So I ordered my water and the steakhouse salad, DH got a ny strip and tea. Let me explain what the steakhouse salad is real quick - The bottom of the plate is a tortilla, and on top of that they put lettuce, tomato, cheese and pieces of steak. Sounds pretty good. Gives me the salad I usually like, and the meat I wanted today. Well, first of all, I forgot that their water is GROSS at the Contemporary. So I had to get a Sprite. Not so good for me....means I'll be extra full in the middle of the day when I will have to walk around a lot. But still, okay. Then we get our food. Dh is still happy as a clam. My lettuce however, looks like they had run out, and quickly cut a few pieces off the middle yellow and white section of the head of lettuce. There was not much and it all looked unappealing. Okay....the steak looks good. The steak part was good. It had a really good flavor to it. The salad dressing was very bitter to my taste though, so I ate as much as I could, and mostly just ate the steak off the top. I figured next time, I can just get a different dressing. However, after burping the taste of that steak ALL day long until I went to bed, I have decided I don't really want to try it again. It did not sit well at all...you will see, I didn't really eat again after this meal all day long. I stayed full and undigested all day. Yuck. Then we had dessert...of course we had to get the butterfinger cheesecake. Unfortunately, the bitterness of the dressing messed with my tastebuds, so it tasted a little sour to me. DH says it was just as good as it was last time, but I didn't really enjoy it. Total - 39.48 DDE Savings - 9.27

Sleepy Hollow - The only other thing we ate today was a funnel cake at MK late at night. And I really still didn't feel so great, but DH was hungry and I nibbled at it. You can't really go wrong with a funnel cake. Total for funnel cake and water - 4.76

That day doesn't sound fun at all. I hope the rest of your trip (especially the food) is better. Did you feel all right enough to get on some rides?

Yeah...we did some rides. I wasn't feeling like I would be literally sick or anything. Just in general sick, and yucky.

March 20
Everyone prepare yourselves….this is the day the cheesecake ends!! :scared1:

Cape May Café – I really enjoyed the variety here. They had a whole yogurt parfait section with fresh fruit and stuff, which I thought was cool. And then lots of yummy food on the regular buffet. I loved their potatoes here…they had them at Boma later in the week too. Really good, that was my favorite part of the meal. They had a bread section with mini croissants, pastries, etc. And they had the normal breakfast foods, eggs, bacon, biscuits, fruit, etc. Overall the food was good, nothing too special. Our waitress was pretty bad, hardly appeared. I still think I would go back though. I really liked the atmosphere and the food was good. For more info on the character interaction etc., you can check out my regular trip report. We only have one copy of the receipt from this meal, and it doesn’t have the DDE savings….Total – 32.36

MGM Terrace Grill – (formerly Flatbread Grill and Studio Catering Co…and who knows what else before that.) We love this CS in MGM. We usually get a kid’s meal grilled chicken wrap to share as sort of a mini-meal, but this time we were pretty hungry. So I got a kid’s meal chicken wrap, which comes with your choice of sides. I got grapes and carrots and a Sprite. DH got a chicken Caesar wrap, a Sprite, and marble cheesecake. It was during this meal and 5th type of cheesecake in 3 and a half days that I dubbed my upcoming trip report “The Cheesecake Tour”. It was also the last time we ate cheesecake on the trip – And that’s what you call ironic. ;) Our wraps were good as always…one of my favorite meals we get on our trips. I saved my carrots and actually ate them later that night while waiting for Fantasmic. They kept me from being hungry, but did not quite satisfy my craving for all the junk food everyone around me had. Oh well….Great meal anyway. Oh, and the cheesecake was not bad for a little prepackaged CS cheesecake, but didn’t have much crust to it. Not great, not bad. #4 out of 5. Total 17.22

No Name CS – I don’t remember the name of this CS. I will try to remember to look on a park map and put the name later. It was one that is across the street from the Fantasmic entrance. There are 2 right next to each other, and I can’t remember which one we went to. I also, don’t have a receipt. Sorry…I seem to be slacking today. I wasn’t really hungry yet, and had decided I wanted a frozen banana(which I never got…ate my carrots instead. <sigh> ), so DH got chicken tenders and fries and I just sort of nibbled at it some. We really like WDW chicken and fries. We used to get it quite often before we learned the wonder of TS. The food was good. The lady next to us had an extra dessert due to the DDP that they weren’t going to eat and gave it to us. It was an apple pie thing. We took it to Fantasmic and ate it there. Not so good. I would not recommend the apple pie from MGM’s CS places.

5 cheesecakes in 3-1/2 days - sounds like heaven to me!

great report - thanks!
