The Cheesecake Factory

We used to have to drive 2 hours to Columbus to eat at the Cheesecake Factory, but they just recently built one less than an hour away. Both the food and cheesecake are excellent, but if yours is anything like ours, you will be in for a looooong wait!

The godiva chocolate cheese cake is soooooooo goooooood, very rich.

We've had their shrimp with pasta, and the avocado spring rolls are a good appetizer.

It's great ENJOY

Since everyone is in agreement...I thought I would throw my 2 cents in. The food is good. However, I went with DH and another couple and all I can say..watch out for what you order.

Our friend ordered a steak and he got 2 sides. That was $25. I looked up Steakhouses in the area (becuase that seemed high to me just for a steak and it wasn't even the best cut!) Sure enough, Outback, Lonestar, and Sir Walter Raleigh's steaks were all cheaper (and these are all Steakhouses!)

I dont consider myself money conscience...but that bugged me. My meal was not as expensive, and I had the most fabulous dessert (not cheesecake becuase I dont like it.) But a wonderful chocolate cake. MMMMMM....

I asked my friend later and he said the steak was excellent. But then we went to Le Cellier for lunch (oh yes cheaper there too) and DH said that steak didnt compare to Canada!

So just watch what you order...some of it is more expensive then normal.

It's really good, but I get a little tired of it because I'm very picky about what I eat. My bf loves their Luao (sp?) Salad, and I'll usually get the chicken stir fry.

Now I understand why the wait is so long! My husband loves the Cheesecake Factory. So even though I dislike it, I end up there every few months. I have two major pet peeves, which may actually be positive things for other people. (perhaps reflects more of personal neurosis, that is, than problems with the restaurant)

The menu is huge! As in 20 + pages. I feel like they make so many things, that nothing in particular stands out as being that 'good' and after a while it all starts seeming really similar. I'd rather go to a place that offers a few options that I can consider rather than a gazillion mediocre versions.

The portions are huge! Again, dislike this immensley. I don't that much, but when I go out, I love variety. I like to be able to eat an appatizer, some salad, try someone else's entree. It's what makes going out to eat fun for me. The portions there are so tremendous, that I cannot usually eat half of one appatizer.

For example, artichoke 'appatizer'. It's two entire artichokes! Salad entree. light? No! It's about a quart of salad. And usually covered with cheese, crunchy things, and fried bits. The burgers are the type that would require a python like dislocateable jaw to actually take a bit of. I know we can do leftovers, and it is reasonabely priced. But I don't like leftovers, and I get this wasteful, guilty feeling when I end up returning half my plate.

So, I'm glad it's out there for those of you who like it! But I try to stay away.

OK, I'll have to try it now. We just got one here a couple of years ago. It's at a mall that I NEVER go to. I remember seeing a news story about it when it opened and I remember seeing how HUGE the portions were. I just have to keep that in mind when ordering. OK, now I'm hungry!!!

Rachel Ellen - i agree. They should make half protions for half the price! I dont want to pay for all that food that I wont eat!LOL!

I'd even settle for just half portions! The prices aren't really that much (Don't know about the steaks, but at least in the appatizers and salads). I think it's residual Jewish guilt from hearing about all the starving kids in Romania!

I noticed the other day that Universal Studios Orlando has a "Dream Factory" by the Cheese Cake Factory, everything looked and smelt sooooo good. We have never eaten in one, except the one in DQ. I do remember it being a bit pricey, but the portions where huge... I think the cheapest CC ran $6 something and the cookies $3.50 and up... I had the most delicious drink there though the Mocha Freeze I think it's called, WOW and it was only $2.75 w/ our AP discount.

Rats! Two locations in Northern VA. Guess I'll have to stop when I visit my sister. None in my area. :( I've never been there. There was one in town in FL, but always a line to get in!

We vacationed in Washington DC a couple of months ago - our hotel was part of a mall which included a CF. (Chevy Chase, MD)... anyway, we loved the desserts, but I felt the food was definitely over rated and over priced. No kids' menu, either.

Of course, that didn't stop us from eating there several times!

I bought a frozen CH cheesecake from Sams' Club - I'm about to throw it out! Or eat it, one slice at a time.

We were just talking about going there today to eat. We love it!!! The chicken maderia and orange chicken are wonderful. Oh and the shrimp poor boy. Oh there are just so many wonderful things. It's hard to decide which cheesecake to get because they are all so wonderful!!! They have a caramel cappuccino that's wonderful!!!

Mmmm...I love the Cheesecake Factory!! Dulce de Leche Cheesecake rocks!!

Love the Orange Chicken too!! The chicken & biscuits is also a fav. of mine. Got my DH hooked on it too!

I wish the portions were smaller also. Unfortunately DH & I don't usually want to order the same things so we can't order 1 and split it.

The Cheesecake Factory is yummy!!! The menu is huge. Everyone in your party should find something that appeals to them. The portions are huge. I usually eat my entree and get dessert to go!
The Key Lime Cheesecake is great!

I ate at the one in Vegas.

The place is awesome! I think that the Avocado Egg Rolls there are the best thing I have ever eaten ( and that encompasses a LOT of foods! ) but it wins hands down. Dh and I shared them as a "teaszer" but he almost lost his lfe when he tried to take my last one..poor guy! LOL!

Enjoy!

The Cheesecake Factory is an excellent restaurant. We lived near one when we were in San Diego. I recommend the avocado egg rolls and for dinner the shrimp curry. Whenever I'm done with a meal, I have to take the cheesecake home (I wouldn't skip that part!). Enjoy!

Anyone know where to get a discount for restaurant dining? Does Hotwire sell gift certificates discounted?
