When DNThe Marine is done with his deployment I am going to ask him to "gift" us a certificate to stay at a condo somewhere.. they sell them to military for $329 a week. I think it would be fun for each of the family to meet up with him and have a fun week further north on a lake. They have a few in MN that are very nice.

None on the coast in California, just Palm Springs-- pooo They have a ton in Florida of course.

ohhhhhhhhhhh if I have money by then (highly doubt it-- but you never know) we should vacation at Shades of Green

Bernice, I can honestly say I dont think Jake will forget that moment for a long time to come. His coach is always saying he doesnt care whether they win or they lose if they brought everything they had to the game. Last week they didnt. They all got too confident and got their butts handed to them. This league is competitive so they count everything, rushing, touchdowns, yards passed etc. They got spanked in every catagory. The coach said it was because they thought it would be easy and to give 110% in every practice and every game no matter how hard or how easy its going. So that was the theme this week. Then he notices the little guy is running his legs off out there and shows how he's trying his hardest and it just put a smile a mile wide on Jake's face. The guys all patted him on the back and said "Good Job Jake" He was so excited!!!

Went to Trader Joe's with my sis this morning, she never had gone to one before.. now for us Trader Joe's is a special trip as they are out in the far, far away ring suburbs. She was trying to find gluten free/ casein free products for her DS, they did have gluten free, lots of it.. but most of it also had casein ... sigh... We both managed to buy a few things that sounded yummy, not necessarily what we need though

I got lemon curd, pumpkin butter, salsa verde (good price, something we use all the time), and chile spiced dried mango slices. I'm grooving on the mango -- mmmmmmmmmmmmm. Hubby tried one bite, it was just "okay" to him.

It reminds of the tamarind candy that I love, but this is not as spicy. My ears aren't burning just a nice warm in the throat..

mmmmmmmmmmm.


We had noodles and company for lunch-- another place sis had not been to- yum! Lil guy didn't appreciate the mac and cheese..

Me: Your kid is weird.
Sis: I know! He only likes meat and veggies.

No I already told him if anyone comes down I'm going out. He knows that I have met Alison so he feels safe there. I guess he thinks if Alison and I meet you together and you turn out to be a murdering monster than its 2 against 1 and we've got a good chance at survival. Unless you are OJ Simpson that is.
