Ooooo, sorry about the layoffs, chica. I survived several rounds of layoffs, so I know how hard that is. I doubt your DH is a candidate, but even those who are left get depressed and have to work a lot harder to cover the same workload.

Sweet cookies! I'm thinking we got cookies, too, I'll have to ask DH. I know his mom sent a cookie bouquet for his birthday, and his boss sent him a box of gourmet cookies for Christmas last year, but I think there was another box of cookies from Larsen as well. Nice touch! :cutie:

It is... It gets him all depressed, because he has to lay them off.

Hello,

Went to the mall earlier and stopped at Disney Store. I bought a reusable bag of Wall-E and Hannah Montana. They are also $2.50/EA. Here's a photo:

   And it is such a cool car!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 We just took the kids for a ride with the top down to get an ice cream (yeah, I let them eat ice cream in it!). DH is very impressed with the power, we took it down on the quarter mile to try it out!:lmao:

It was just the thing I needed!:thumbsup2

That's awesome! Isn't it a V8? My parents have a black Mercedes (V8) :woohoo:

Cute bags Pix!:thumbsup2 Now time to go shopping and fill the bags.:lmao:

There was a horrific train accident yesterday. It occurred about 30 minutes away from where I live and was headed towards Moorpark (which is also close to me). It's very sad and they closed one of the onramps that we always pass. A Union Pacific cargo train collided head on with a Metrolink. :scared1:

Yep, it's the V-8. So not much better gas mileage than my big SUV, but oh so fun to drive. We have been having awesome weather the last few weeks, so a convertible is just the ticket.

That's cool :) My bf hasn't driven with the top down lately. It's just been too hot here (in the 90's) :faint:

I seen that on the news last night, it was so sad.

I left work early yesterday and heard it on the radio. I quickly called the office to alert my co-workers because most of them needed to drive in that direction and they said the traffic on the fwy was awful. I was trying to re-route them so they wouldn't be stuck. They were still investigating yesterday and didn't know the cause.

I just read the article and it said the Metrolink conductor didn't stop at a red light :(

We were about 80 today, but tomorrow and the next day are supposed to be around 90 degrees. I guess our summer was just a little late this year. But it has been getting very cool at night, down in the mid 40's. Some years we have really nice autumn's here, clear into the end of October.

It's been gloomy in the mornings here but then it gets up into the 90's in the afternoon. It has been cooler at night, which is good. When I was at DL a few weeks ago, the first night was hot even at night time it was hot and my co-workers and I were all sweating. :faint: Then when we went to DCA the next day it was hot during the day but got cooler at night.

Thanks! :goodvibes Now my bf and siblings and I will each have a bag to use at MHT. Last year my siblings and I loved their apple slices and we went crazy for their Fruitaboo brand strawberry leather (I saw that they now sell this at Target). I hope they have cool stuff this year :yay:

That happened here a few years ago. Not with a commuter train, but 2 freight trains collided a few miles from our house. One of them ran a red light. You know you would think they would put an automatic gate that comes down with the red light, just like on the automobile crossings. At least when the train ran thru the gate, you would think that would give them a warning to stop the train when the gates broke across the front of the train. Or at the very least it would give them time to slow down some.

It's just awful and I agree, they need to have something to temporarily barricade so that they can't run the red light.

Sounds Delish! I just had an ice cream cone after dinner so I'm stuffed tonight! The falls are nice around here, it takes a long time to warm up during the day, so most of the day is very comfortable. It doesn't get real warm until around 3-5pm, then starts cooling down again by 7pm.
