Sorry I disappeared, I got sucked in by a stupid political thread. WHY DO I EVEN LOOK??? GEESH, it's like a train wreck in there! :sad2:

Pix, I'm surprised anything at the Disney Store was only $2.50! Nice score! :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

I actually have gotten a few toys there on clearance for pittance every once in awhile. I stocked up and kept 'em for kids' birthday gifts. :woohoo:

Think I'm gonna mosey downstairs and see what's going on with DH and the kids, and maybe log in from the laptop. It's been misbehaving lately, and DH was going to check it out; I always seem to have trouble connecting to the wireless network at first, but usually after shutting the whole thing down a time or two it works. Go figure. :confused3

Maybe it's your router? :confused3 We had problems in the past and had to buy a new router.

LOL, I know! I can't believe it was only $2.50! They also have one with Mickey on it. :) Their shirts for ladies and men are on sale for $5/EA. The kids ones are on sale too and are really cute. One of my cousins loves NBC and I got her a Jack t-shirt for her birthday. I'm going to mail it to her next week (she's away at college) and I hope she likes it. :)

Cute bag!

They didn't have it at the Mall of America store, only one in MN now.

I did like the bust set and the candle holders of Jack and Sally-- reasonable price. The figurine of Jack was cool but I think they cheaped out on the light up part, only the bottom of the green goo lights up .. they should have put LEDs in the "pouring" part of the fountain.. it would have looked awesome!

Too much for my budget too- yikes!

I don't think I've see nthe candle holders. I think they are having a summer sale now.

I'm back, and pix just left.

In fact, I went downstairs to see what DH and the boys were up to, and they stayed a few minutes, then all went to bed.

I'm leaving soon too.. oddly enough I looked up DN's group online and found a newsletter outlining training and when the deployment actually starts.. not until end of the month.

He's been doing training out in the desert, just a few hours from where we lived.

Searching thru the pics posted and trying to find him, hard when all are near bald and some shots you can't see their name tags (on clothing) unless it's a pic of their behind or if wearing field jackets. But I did find one with his name tag clear as day! Didn't look like him though.. but with our Finlander last name not going to find too many others with that one. His drill sargeant in basic thought it was a great one to pick on "what the he... kind of name is M-----a? I can't even pronounce it!"

:lmao:

I went through years of school with a very francais name that no one could pronounce correctly. Some teachers didn't even try... for which I was grateful.

In college when I took a beginning French class, the native-speaker teacher called out my name the first day and asked, "But are you aware that your name is French?"

I said, "Yes." (GEESH, how stoopid do you think I am???)

Then she asked in French, "Parlez-vous francais?" (Do you speak French?)
I'm thinking, "Lady! If I spoke French, do you seriously think I'd be taking a beginning French class???"

I simply answered no, but I understood a bit. ;)

Sorry! I ran to Marie Calander's to get a pie for my grandma. They have pies on sale for $6.99 and she had some pie tins that she saved. They give you 50 cents off for each pie tin. :thumbsup2

Hi. I can' t sleep. DBF is down at his brothers for the night. But tomorrow we're going to Las Vegas.

Good Morning Ladies:

The sun is shining, the air feels great and its just beautiful outside.

I am waiting to get DD up and ready for music lesson and we are off. When we are finished with lesson we are going to do a little shopping (or should I say she is and I will pay:lmao: ).

She wants to swing by the towne center and look at a new pair of those strange gym shoes she likes . When she is done there we head up to Traders World for DH a new football jersey.

I am trying to talk DD out of her lunch choice of Fuji to something on the river so we can ride the duck boats...she is not bending..(brat)

After that I am not sure of the rest of the day....

I got a call from our neighbor and our Oct. trip may be back on...I dunno-wish they would make up their mind!!!!!!!! I gave up 3 days at DISNEY to go with them.(grrrrrrrrr...)

My friend was here around 10:00 to get the kids...her little face was all red and swollen. I just looked at her when she came in and gave her a big hug. We cried for a few minutes and she talked a little about her mom. J. (her husband) just stood there quiet..(I love him to death...) and then said something that had us laughing..

Anyway...have a great day everyone.....

Thank you. :)

Yeah, we don't really do anything anymore, but it makes me a bit sad, because it's not like we don't have reason to celebrate. DH asked before the business trip, "So do you want to go out to dinner, just the two of us?"

I said, "No, you're going to be on your trip! How's that gonna work?"
He said, "No, no, that's the day I fly back." (But he was getting back around 5 PM...)
I said, "You're going to be tired after a long flight, we don't have a sitter, I don't think I even own anything nice to wear anymore... Let's just have dinner at home."

Then I felt bad that I just sort of blew it off like that, he looked a little disappointed. :(
Alex,

I think that it is time that you do something nice together. You should go out and buy something nice and sexy to wear. Seriously! Then you should make arrangements for the boys. Then find a nice a restaurant, and make reservations. Then when your DH comes home from work, or if it is a weekend, get dressed and surprise him, and tell him you have something special planned. I personally think these things are very important. Especially if he looked dissapointed. I know that he loves you now and no worries. But when a wife, or visa versa plans something like this for their spouse, it just really shows how much they care.

I am telling you ... get a muscle car...it will turn heads.
My DH would love the Shelby Mustang. But if were to wish, he'd want the Cobra!!

But he does have a muscle car. A 66 Chevelle! He also is working on a Ford Fairlane.

Gina, this must be so hard.:sad1: I just can't imagine. I agree with Alex, just be there for her. And listen, and let her talk. What is her name? I will pray for her and her family.

Take care. :grouphug:

HYENAS!

I'm waiting for my bf to wake up. Maybe I should pull the sheets and have him fall out of bed. :rolleyes1 J/k! :rotfl: I'm not sure what movie we will see today. I now have 4 AMC movie tickets from American Eagle Outfitters. :yay: :cheer2: I think we may watch Babylon A.D. :confused3

HAPPY 15TH ANNIVERSARY!!!
Thank you, Tinkermell! :goodvibes

You're right, we should. DH told me over lunch today that he'd been looking at jewelry to designate our 15th anniversary. The item he liked best was $4k (:scared1: ) but he didn't want to spend that much. I laughed and said, "If you were going to spend that much, then take me to Maui!"

He said he figured he'd put it into our house instead. We need a new furnace, so a few weeks ago we had a guy come out to talk about heat pumps (thanks, Sam! :thumbsup2 ) and today a guy is coming out to talk about solar energy. We'd love to do a combination of both, but it's going to cost quite a few limbs to do that.

Ooooo, sorry about the layoffs, chica. I survived several rounds of layoffs, so I know how hard that is. I doubt your DH is a candidate, but even those who are left get depressed and have to work a lot harder to cover the same workload.

Sweet cookies! I'm thinking we got cookies, too, I'll have to ask DH. I know his mom sent a cookie bouquet for his birthday, and his boss sent him a box of gourmet cookies for Christmas last year, but I think there was another box of cookies from Larsen as well. Nice touch! :cutie:
