1. Your BIL is a butthead.
2. I've heard cod liver oil IS gross. I think that's what my grandma used to give her children, a daily teaspoonful. And I've heard it tastes nasty! :scared:
He is... But he was also kidding.. Still a butt though. :lmao:
 OH NASTY.

Buy lots of pillows.

And keep away from any sporks :flower3:

Frelan is already stocking up on pillows. AND he is planning on staying on nights. He says that it is to help me during the day with the kids... But I think it is because he is scared to be alone with me at night. :lmao:

wiki

Cod liver oil is a nutritional supplement derived from liver of cod fish. It has high levels of the omega-3 fatty acids, EPA and DHA, and very high levels of vitamin A, and vitamin D. It is widely taken to ease the symptoms of arthritis as well as other health benefits. It was once commonly given to children

It goes on to say to be careful as it derives from fish with .. you guessed it.. high level of mercury.

And too much can cause Vitamin A toxicity, scary.

Night gals! It is past my bed time... so I should get to bed to.

It's sad day in the DL forum!:sad1:

Hydroguy is getting attacked for writing his TIPs compilation thread.

There are some who think he doesn't know what he is talking about, cuz he doesn't go to DL as much as they do. :snooty:

Don't they realize all of the hours he has put into it? I'd like to see some of them take the time and do a spreadsheet on DL.

And he has never said it was gospel. It is just suppose to help the posters who have never been to DL.

I am upset! :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

That's just awful. He's just trying to help others and I don't understand why he would be attacked for that...... :sad2:

Hey girls

I'm having a rough day. I wont go into it much but I've just freaked out a lot today. I'm really anxious all of the time lately. Not sure why. Jeff is really wondering if it is my medication. I've gotten past the illness part of it but we dont know if anxiousness is a side effect either. I need to look it up. Or maybe I'm trying to blame the medication:rotfl: when I've just got a lot going on now that I'm trying to digest.

sigh.

I'm sorry to hear that Shawna. I hope you feel better

Take it easy on yourself Shawna...maybe you just had to much on your plate today....We all have our spork moments...

Good Morning Ladies.:)

I wouldn't worry too much about tuna Megan. It's on the FDA list of foods to LIMIT during pregnancy. The recommendations are no more than 6 ounces of tuna per week (which is a full can!). So unless you plan on eating an entire can of tuna by yourself (well that might be a possibility lately:lmao: ) you should be fine. Oh and white or albacore contains 3 times more mercury than the cheap regular light tuna. So in this case buying the cheaper tuna works to one's advantage.:thumbsup2

One thing I have learned with cancer is to eat and do everything in moderation. Heck, one day broccoli is supposed to ward off cancer and the next day it's causing cancer. I wouldn't even be able to eat anything if I heeded all the food/cancer warnings!:lmao: So I buy different brands, don't ever overdo it on one type of food and figure that's how I'll handle it. And I'm sure you've all seen the signs everywhere in DL "This item contains ingredients known to the State of California to cause cancer & birth defects". I'm scared to pick up anything in a DL giftshop for fear of cancer!! :rotfl2:

Just imagine what would happen if you purchased an item in a DL giftshop AND ate tuna in the same day!!:scared1: :rotfl2:

Well, I feel better today. Told dh that I did not want to do this garage sale this weekend. That takes a HUGE pressure off. He just informed me of this garage sale 2 days ago. :scared1: I have 3 birthday parties and my moms house to completely clean and get her house ready for a Blue Thong sleepover too. I just think that was the bulk of it. I did not know how I was to get everything done by Saturday.

sigh

So I can breath better now. Thank Goodness. Yes it was a sporking day in my house!
Thank God for Staley, before I would not have know the appropriate phrase to use in that situation. :lmao:

Oh hey, I need some props for telling someone NO! :lmao: :lmao: I'm a YES girl. I take on too much. Yeah, I know I dont work but I mean I always say yes to people even if I dont want to or dont have the time. I actually said NO this time. This is an issue with me I'm trying to learn. :thumbsup2

Good morning, hyenas!
It is gloriously sunny this morning! :cool1:

I've been reading through the DIS this morning, in particular the DL forum. GEESH, I haven't been over there in a long time, lots of new names! And sadly, a few trolls. :sad2:

I spoke with DH; he is at the airport right now, ready to board the flight home. He's coming home a day early. He told the boys last night, and their reaction was surprisingly ho-hum. I could not believe it!!! :rotfl2:

Poor DH, I think it hurt his feelings. I said I didn't think they really grasped the significance. DS8 has been asking me every morning, "So how many more days until Daddy comes home?" And every evening they both want to snuggle with me (which is seriously annoying when I'm trying to load the dishwasher or some other fool thing...) :rotfl:

This morning was crazy; I let the boys sleep until 8, which I shouldn't have; then was rushing them to get dressed, eat, brush their teeth, etc. (Why on earth, when you say "We're running late today, I need you to hurry!" does that translate in a child's brain as "Let's play until Mama comes back!" ???)

So I drove the boys to DS8' school, hauled him out and threw on his backpack, gave him a quick kiss on top of the head (because I can still do that this year...) and reminded him, "OK, we're going to pick Daddy up at the airport RIGHT after school!" and he barely replied: "OK." I heard a bell ring, not sure if it was the first bell or second (You're tardy!) bell... Ah well, did my best.

Then drove DS4 to his school, where he flailed about in his carseat, pretending he couldn't get out. "Honey, take your arms out of the seatbelt." :headache:

"Ohhhhhhh! Thanks, Mama!"

:sad2:

We chatted about what to do if someone is not being nice to him.

"I tell him to stop. I tell him I don' like dat."
"Right! And what if he or she doesn't stop?"
"Den I tell [teacher's name] dat he's not being nice to me."
"Good job, honey. You can tell either [lead teacher] or [assistant teacher], OK? They will help. And if someone isn't being nice to you, maybe you should play with someone else, OK? It's not OK to push."
"OK, Mama." :teeth:

Once inside I talked with the teacher about what DS said about yesterday's pushing incident. (DS blames it on the fact that earlier in the day, the other boy knocked over some blocks DS was playing with and spit on him! The boy apparently made an explosion sound as he crashed through the blocks and 'sprayed' DS. This is his logic for justifying hopping on top of the little boy when the boy tripped yesterday.) :headache:

She's going to keep an eye on them today.

Whoops! Time to go hear how the little beastie did at school today... Later!

:3dglasses Aloha my little chiquita bananas! The hubby aned I were talking about maybe taking the beasties to the fair next weekend. He MIGHT be working this weekend.. Might not. This is the only thing I have to say about it, and I will say NO MORE. STUPID F-ING GREEDY *** BOEING MACHINISTS. They are the most money grubbing selfish jerks EVER.     Anyhooo.... I dont know how long the hubby will have work due to the strike... So we might have him home with us a lot more than usual.

:thumbsup2 Great job Shawna!

I used to drive myself crazy trying to be Super Woman, able to leap tall piles of laundry in a single bound. Just like you I had a hard time saying no. But with years of practice, I'm getting very good at "No". As a matter of fact I'm pretty sure that after I say "No" I have trained my ears to completely block out the kids whining sounds.:lmao: Actually I don't always say "No", but I do take the easy route now.

For instance....

Child: I NEED 30 homemade cupcakes for our class party tomorrow!

Me: Oh you guys (meaning the kids) will have fun making them. Here's a box of mix and a can of frosting. Goodnight, I'm going to read a book before bed. Let me know if you have any questions.

Child: But we don't want to make them ourselves Mom!

Me: Hmmmm....me neither. OK, then I'll be happy to pick up some individual ice cream cups on my way to work and drop them off at the school for you, if YOU don't want to make cupcakes.:thumbsup2 There I solved your problem for you.
*************************************************

Child: I NEED to join scouts, band, karate, and softball this week.

Me: (as I get up and leave the room) GREAT, let me know which ONE you decide on.
**************************************************
Child: But EVERYONE ELSE gets to have a huge slumber party with 30 kids invited.

Me: Go ask your Dad if he wants to set up tents in the backyard, order 10 pizzas and watch 30 screaming kids Friday night.:rotfl: He's in charge of entertainment activities this month.

Child: Dad said to ask you.

Me: I'm sorry he must be confused, it's not my month to decide on those things. So go ask him again.

Child: Dad said to ask you.

Me: Seriously now! I'm not telling you again that this is not my responsibility. Use a firm voice and go ask your Dad again.

Child: Dad's mad at me now and said no.

Me: Awww, geez...let me give you a hug. It will be ok sweetie, I'll just book a party at the swimming pool and everyone can meet us there for a birthday party. (As I have now become the hero, without saying NO!).:rotfl2:

:grouphug: Everything will work out ok. It really sucks when Boeing employees decide to strike. I don't think they realize how much it affects the entire Puget Sound region, not just their department.

Ali, I knew I really liked you!!!!!!!! ie...bake your own cupcakes, pick one activity....yepper.... I learned years ago you can't do everything or you go crazy and take the family with you....

Now, DD...mom I joined guitar at school...but don't worry its after school, I just stay and you pick me up an hour later...:lmao:

These kids were in everything and I was a zombie trying to do it all....

oh, I forgot to mention...you know the jobs I served up for DS2 to earn some extra cash????? he is going to be ticked...DS1 is working on them now:lmao:

Man am I glad that I am not going to be home later...that way I don't have to hear it....:rotfl2:
